    Kenny has no idea what he's talking about... He's playing checkers....But Isiah is right.. toughness wise.. John will eat you up before you even notice it

      That's the same thing I was thinking.lol he said he would make Stockton shoot and make Nash drive. that's the craziest thing I've ever heard because Nash was an incredible finisher and Stockton was a knock down shooter. It make no sense.

      For me Stockton is greatest PG ever to play the game...dude was efficient, simply put.

    Defensively and offensively
    The only one who plays more like a modern John Stockton is Chris Paul
    Both were instinctively intense and disruptive on defense in terms of intercepting a pass
    Mid range jump shot
    Layup package
    Feel for the game
    Aggression and in game toughness
    John and Chris are similar & in more way ways than one

      Stockton made ridiculous passes. Chris paul tried a Magic Johnson no look but failed. I will take efficiency any day. Playoffs 15 straight seasons.

    I'd say cp3 offensively & defensively although cp3 is a better scorer and more efficient but stockton was pretty efficient as well. they both are great passers and even tho stockton had assist number I still think cp3 court vision is on stockton, Steve Nash, Jason kidd, rajon rondo Mark Jackson, magic and isiah Thomas level.

  • @davecourt2037
    @davecourt2037 2 года назад

    Offensively, Nash was similar. But Stockton had superior defense.

    People that underrate Stockton or say he's trash don't understand the game of basketball... If he wanted to he could have been scoring around 25 ppg with still at least 10 assists (prime was 12-14) with and least a 38% 3 (he was over 40% in his prime) with a 45% FG (he over 50% in his prime) not to mention him already being on a defensive team... But he instead chose to make his team better in the sacrifice of his stats and it paid off by always taking his team to the playoffs.

    • @kc-sm5qu
      @kc-sm5qu 3 года назад

      Really though! Especially when he said he would make Nash Drive to the rim instead of shoot.lol you lose either way because Steve Nash was a fantastic finisher.

    • @theoldbk5419
      @theoldbk5419 2 года назад +4

      Kenny doesn’t know what he’s talking about, only thing that separates the two is Nash was average at best on defense while John was one of the best in the game especially with steals. Offensively they’re exactly the same, Nash maybe the slightly better shooter, 4 times 50/40/90…

    • @kc-sm5qu
      @kc-sm5qu 2 года назад

      @@theoldbk5419 I agree in a way but kind of Disagree. Stockton and Nash were similar in the sense of being pass first guards. But I think it kind of ends right there. Both guys just had two completely different styles of approaching the game. If you pay close attention to the way Stockton played he was alot more system based and game was more about basic fundamentals and efficiency. Nash was more of a magician with the basketball. He could make plays out of Literally nothing. Not saying that Stockton couldn't but nash was just different in that aspect.

    • @theoldbk5419
      @theoldbk5419 2 года назад +2

      @@kc-sm5qu agreed, John played in a Sloan’s strict offensive system, and while Nash played in D’Antoni’s free flowing 7 seconds or less offense. So I agree the systems changed their style of play and just the dynamics of how they could move around on the court. But offensively, they’re exactly the same, both were excellent finishers with either hand, both lights out from the midrange and perimeter, and both were excellent on the pick and roll. The systems they played in and along with eras they played in dictated a lot of their approach

    • @kc-sm5qu
      @kc-sm5qu 2 года назад +1

      @@theoldbk5419 I agree with you as well. In that sense you are correct they are definitely the same. They have alot of similar attributes. But just for me if I had to pick a player that Steve Nash reminds me of the most it would be mark price. I just think there styles of play complement each other a lot more.

    Chris Paul is literally identical, both guys who are steals leaders but don’t have much defense, both guys career 50% fg, both guys have amazing assist to turnover ratios, both never won a ring

  • @tobyclark6534

    The Jazz just couldn't get any great pieces to go with Stockton and Malone. Kirilenko came a little too late in their careers, while Griffith and Eaton were there a little too early.

    It like every person that comments on steve nash never saw h im play. He was one of the best finishers ever. there's a compilation on youtube. he was way better finisher than stockton and shooter, and passer and player.

  • @colinforsecs3393

    Nash's overall game was more exciting to watch than Stockton's, but John had the greater career and was better defensive player for sure.

      Bro Stockton went to the playoffs 19 times, twice to the finals, is the nba's ALL TIME leader in assists, AND steals, was 2nd team all defense 5 years in a row, is the nba's ALL TIME leader in assist to turnover ratio in the playoffs, and is regarded by nba players as the best point guard to ever play in the NBA along with Magic Johnson.
      and you say he's equal to Chris Paul smh..
