I think they did this because some deaths in Until Dawn were so specific and ridiculous that barely anybody saw them. For example hardly anyone knows Emily can fall into a woodchipper.
So this game has more "variety" than until dawn and is much less linear, which means this game should more replayability. I think that was what the devs were going for, but they sacrificed a lot of narrative in the process. It feels like they spent so much time on creating all these possible paths and weaving them all together that they didn't have time to write a great story and great horror. Instead we get a predictable story with a stupid amount of jump scares. Which paradoxically results in this game having low replayability; people don't want to replay a bad game.
Wow, I didn't realise that most scenes can be done with completely different people! I guess they had to do it that way just in case someone dies earlier on. But I was wondering, in this video it shows Alex vs Olson, and then the rat comes out and he kills himself etc; but in the playthrough I just watched, it was the two headed monster that ended up being Julia. Was it because the person who did the playthrough looked into the coffin with the two headed skeleton? Or is it because Julia wouldn't be able to pass for Olson because she's a girl?
brad died in my "pass the controller" playthrough or whatever it's called (where each person picks which characters they play) and his death doesn't match any of the scenarios in this or on the wiki. it looked like he fell but all the falling scenarios for him never happened. there's a lot of gaps in the co-op i guess.
For those who wonder, i would actually compare this to Heavy rain deaths because even with all violent deaths there was not that much blood even during the warehouse and still were brutal :) so yeah maybe Heavy Rain pace is more of comparison
How do you have Conrad get the Knife? Because I’m trying a kill everyone run where Fliss/Brad kill each other in the ballroom and then Conrad stabs the survivor and Olson kills Alex in the chase scene. I’m trying to only have 2 people alive in the Radio room but I don’t know if that’s possible.

And I mean.. look, I didn't look this up because I wanted gore or anything, but something was off with these deaths in youtuber playthroughs (I watched Jacksepticeye's). From a studio that made Until Dawn, I did expect more "creativity" or "variety", if you will. And now I find out why they aren't: each occuring death scene is scripted with sample models (except really character specific ones like Julia's decompressing sickness), so they just copy paste the characters' model in the sample's place. Thus we have T-posing corpses without any missing limbs/unique facial expression/wounds/etc... It's kinda cheap, but at least there are many possible outcomes and endings (which arent cheap though)

When she finishes diving with Alex, have her refuse to emerge slowly, and afterwards have her accept beer. That way she spends the rest of the story as a dead woman walking.
Early in the game when you're diving and playing as Julia, and you choose to hurry and surface from the dive instead of waiting. If she manages to survive throughout the rest of the game, she dies of decompression sickness at the end.

Eldritch Angel no Julia was Olson in one of my play throughs, at this point I think it’s random
You don't look at the skeleton,but if you do,don't touch the body in the infirmary as Alex and you get a hallucination of Olson,which is pretty boring
