In the 90s ASL actually used to stand for Age/Sex/Location. It was used in the OG chatrooms for America Online and Yahoo.

ASL is actually used for Age, Sex, Location. Most commonly seen it on Omegle. Though it is quite dated and I wouldn't expect it to mean that version on a tiktok comment section.

OKAY. I gotta calm myself down after that. “Rein players have a history of complaining,” right? Maybe because he’s the only hero who gets ZERO buffs all of Overwatch 2 except the VERY VERY start where he got ultra buffed then instantly nerfed. If one or two is constantly complaining, yeah okay, I’d understand them getting ignored. If ALL of this hero’s players are saying that this hero is completely useless, maybe there needs to be so evaluation in the balancing team
I feel like people just look at the numbers and think "Well people are still playing rein so surely he cant be that bad" when the only reason people still play him is because he is a genuinely cool hero and a lot of mains carried over from ow1. Same with Genji, for example.
Not everyone is a hyper competitive gamer that only picks optimal heroes. People just want to play a hero they love, and it hurts seeing a hero you main be completely left in the dust.
The answer to the cheater thing is likely just that the cheater that got banned is using a known method and the guy who's been cheating for months is either using something that doesn't directly modify the game (and thus very difficult for in game systems to detect without manual review) or is just using a method that Blizzard hasn't figured out yet to tell the anti-cheat to look for.
That Zen had some dollar store free trail cheats or something that probably got picked up pretty quickly.

I think the "as hell" becoming "asl" probably stems from an evolution of first making the 'H' silent since it kind of sounds the same. Then people realizing that it just sounds like 'L' with the silent 'H'. And lastly, it got shortened and decapitalized further to ensure you can type it faster when it got into the popular internet lexicon.
So, "As Hell" > "As 'ell" > "AsL" > "asl"

It has visual, just a bit hard to see. When you proc inspire, a healing flash wave will come out of Brig and cover about 20 radius.
You can test it out in the practice range if you need to. Proc inspire and look at the bottom half of your screen and you'll see it.
It's just harder to see in-game sometimes because it's just a faint yellow flash in a game filled with a shit load of visual clutter.

@FlatsTwo This is going to date me, for sure, but back in the day on AIM (AOL instant messenger) or ICQ (I "seek you") ASL? (age sex location) was very common to ask people when chatting for the first time. It meant sex as in gender. A legit response would be 19 m (male) cali. It was shorthand for: "How old are you? Are you a boy or a girl? Where do you live?" The mid-late nineties were a fascinating time to be sure. Chat rooms were the "social space" on the internet back then.
5:48 ok this video just made me feel super old. You see, back in the olden days, when Google as this obscure search engine no one was using, and social media consisted of my space and that’s it, people used to hang out in chat rooms and when you met someone you would type asl. It literally meant age/sex/location so you knew roughly who you were chatting to.

A lot of kids, especially in the inner city, do not grow up with a "farm" education. It was a whole thing with IQ tests and how kids answered that milk comes from a carton and not from a cow. It does worry me when people don't know where their stuff comes from, but I'd get in trouble if I were to tell people to reclaim the means of production or something lol

@@kpkazan You have to consider how long/how much internet he used back then. I was born in the 80's, I got a solid 10+ years on Flats so I was also older when that sorta stuff was common place. Youd join an AOL Chatroom and someone would hit you up like "ASL?" trying to figure your Age/Sex/Location and 99% of the time it was harmless chatter just trying to be an icebreaker to know who you are talking to. Rarely was it actually malicious.

My parents have Turkeys and chickens and my gosh turkeys can be terrifying, They are very territorial and will post up and if you give the wrong signal they'll attack. They also at full size can easily fly up on top of roof up to 45-50 feet. Chickens tho are typically scared af but also really cute and cuddly once you show them you mean no harm.
I am more concerned about asking if roast beef comes from chicken.

a neat little way to rework rein is make where if his shield breaks he gains a boost call "_____" and he get 40% damage reduce and 150 damage buff with no fire strike so he dose not fold so hard to shield busters buff the buff has short duration. love to hear some thoughts on re doing his kit to make him a stronger shield without making him unkillable.
