The tactics were spot on but it was still on the players to be brave and execute it and they did fantastically well in that regard. Feels good watching Scotland these days 🏴
Steve Clarke did the exact same at killie, made an average team one of the best in the country through sheer hard work and organisation, im not surprised our national team has improved since he took the job
can see distinct similarities to the current scotland team to clarkes killie. Its not attractive football but it works. Its hard to play against and its frustrating aswell. Hate playing against it love seeing it for scotland haha.
@@clarkycfc1 this kind of opinion really frustrates me. Its normally only from Old Firm fans who saw Killie a few times a season. Under Clarke against everyone else we played really attractive football and when our front 5 was Burke, Jones, Stewart and Boyd we genuinely looked capable of challenging for the title!
Steve Clarke is a damn fine manager. He has the 4th highest win % of all Kilmarnock FC managers and he did it at a time when 50.63% at any team outside of Celtic and Rangers was incredible. Get the man a life time contract. He's given Scotland back it's pride in it's football team.
@@RedScotland Exceptionally tactically astute and an excellent organiser and motivator. His team is more assertive on the pitch than some of our other master tacticians' teams were - Roxburgh, Brown, Ormond, even Stein - and he's already taken us to our first tournament for over 20 years and was very unfortunate to miss out on a World Cup spot last time out. The record books are all about the tournaments, tho, and he needs to qualify for another couple of those, or even (be still my beating heart!) progress beyond the group stage, before he gets the nod as the finest. I have, as ever tho (except during the Vogts era), high hopes.
Scotland let Spain tippy tap around the midfield then destroyed them with pace , power , energy and skill We just need to do the same to the so called lesser teams The future is bright. 🏴❤️🏴
It’s been quite interesting seeing a lot of praise from the English for our performance, people like big Sam come out in defence of Scotland’s tactics etc
I think I counted about six chances that were major for us. There was McTominays two goals, Christie's run and I think if hit the shot with his right foot it'd have gone in, Dykes' chip which if hit with less power was absolutely going in, McGinns free kick that clattered off the bar and McGregors run to find Shankland who's shot was deflected. Could've been an absolute rout last night, and I'd have loved to see that.
Aye, diving and time wasting, a Spanish speciality….oh and let’s not forget the amateur dramatics of feigning injury….and they’ve got the cheek to blame us 😂😂😂
Since watching the game, I feel the two main take aways from the match were how unprepared Spain were. I think they really underestimated the quality that Scotland have with Tierney, Robertson, McTominay and McGinn being very big names in the English Premier League. I also think Spain really did struggle on the left wing and with both Tierney and Robertson able to push up that left hand side it's an easy place for Scotland to attack from and got both goals from the left side. ~ I was annoyed that Dykes missed his shot, but I honestly think with Ross Stewart coming back from injury we can continue to improve and get even better.
@@paulwilson2651 dykes is strong and can play the lone role..but he won't score..much... i feel if it was shanks going 1 on 1 it was a goal... that said tho... shanks wouldn't be in that position.... hes to weak.. dykes is a worrior..its a conundrum i feel... i wanna see goals from our strikers tho...cause they have em
And if Spain had done their homework they would have see that Scotlands biggest threat and strength is the left side of the field...... Which clearly they did not realise.
We still must learn NOT to give the ball away cheaply. Almost every time Gunn punted the ball into the Spanish half, we lost possession!!!! But the result is EVERYTHING, no matter how ungainly it looks. 😂😂😂👏👏👏👏👏👏
One of the main takeaways from last night was how well Steve Clarke got his tactics. It’s looking bright for us this campaign!

As a Kilmarnock fan, I've known Steve Clarke is a genius for a few years

He has similar style of football to Jose mourinho he obviously took notes when he was Jose's assistant 💙

Nice analysis. Also playing to one of Scotland's strengths, i.e., their excellent full backs/left sided defenders. On both sides.
Left sided defenders on both sides?

Loving these videos. You're smashing it, Adam.
Spain massively underestimated Scotland, as a Scotland fan I never thought I’d ever say we should have beaten Spain by more than 2 goals.
Excellent summation of the game; well said Adam.

I always thought that teams failed against passing teams because they tried to mirror them.
Steve Clark knows what he’s doing.
Half Spanish, Half Socottish... what a night.
100% Scottish, live in Spain... what a night.

Great win, so let's build on it. Hope the boys are on a roll, so consistency will have to be the key.
I was at the game, we definitely could of scored about 5 but I don’t know why Rodri’s saying we were diving. They were the ones diving 😂.

@@kenweir7825 Aye, especially that Rodri one. He played for Atletico Madrid, and he's saying we're the cheaters. 🤣
Oh boy, do we need a world class striker lol. Apart from that, those who played did a grand job.
spain can say the same but they had sucess without one and we could do a similar thing
Managing to fit 3 left backs into a starting line up is genius
Nice analysis!
I will forever love the word "shithousery"
Australian political satire channel (I know, bear with me) thejuicemedia prefers to use "epic shitfuckery." 😆
"Atletico Madrid - the Harlem Globetrotters of shithousery." Accurate and hilarious! 🤣🤣
I remember what they did at Celtic Park in the early '70s. Should have at least have the team arrested for assault.
@@dougferguson8631 That's exactly what I was thinking of!
Insightful thanks 👍
People keep mentioning 40 yrs since a win, in fact we played 5 times in that period , 2 draws and 2 of the defeats in 2010 as world champions

There's also Shankland he's a scoring machine.
Callum McGregor is the only MF to have played 180 minutes in both wins and doesn’t even get a mention because he’s not playing in the Premierhype 😂👍🏼
Great analysis mate.
I thought I was watching whatculture for a minute there
Scotland here.... Great analysis
Love video your a true legend my mates loved video too , keep it up 🚪🏴🏴🏴
Coulda been 4 clear was a good gameplan. Hoping someone like shankland starts scoring because thats the final bit of the jigsaw...
If only it was Shanks who got the chance that Dykes missed but Dykes is still a good player within Scotland's set up.
