Elton John - Healing Hands
/ eltonjohn - Видеоклипы
This was on the radio in 1989 when my husband and I were leaving the hospital after our 3 day old son died. I felt it was a sign -- the lyrics were/are meaningful. Still listen to it 31 years later.
so sorry for your loss
I’m so sorry
🖤💟
Wow! 😶
I'm so sorry..!
Oh my heart 🥺💔
This is what REAL music sounds like !
"there is a light where the the darkness ends" AMEN !!!!!!
Premonitory, since one year later, Elton John was cured from his toxicomany.
How did this masterpiece not get into his greatest hits
Because it wasn't shallow enough to be 'a greatest hit'.
Because it wasreleased as a double A side with Sacrifice which got more airtime. agree this is a MUCH better track
It's such an incredible song, so underrated. I remember listening to it as a young teen and being so soothed. Probably one of the first albums I bought, mainly for this song..... it still does that all these years later. So beautiful and elegant. Without a doubt one of his best!
I was just mentioning this when I posted the video, though I have his album Sleeping With The Past.
@@Steve_Gee74ot necessarily better, just less of a hit. Both songs are good in their own way.
Sacrifice for instance is one of the best songs with the use of synthesizers that I ever heard. It is like the hymn of the 80s in my book.
"There's a light, where the darkness ends." Beautiful song.
Words to live by.
Existe una luz donde la oscuridad termina...great...!
I always felt this should have featured in rocketman instead of I'm still standing. Very uplifting and optimistic and more in time with the real timeline in which he kicked the drugs and the booze
Best,song,ever
@@catscan2022Rocketman was okay, I wouldn't change anything in that movie. It'a obvious that there is a lot of Elton material to discover, that is not in the movie. That's kinda the whole point - if someone likes the movie, he will go and find more songs and rare gems themselves. They couldn't just throw every good song into there
1989: This song is the best
2020: This song is the best
2089: This song is the best
2021 la mejor canción
Definitely one of the greatest songs in history
Yep. I’m convinced if he could live forever he would right great songs forever. He and Bernie are magic.
Even if it's the end of the world this song is the best
i was obsessed with thsi song and this album
The RUclips algorithm is wild!! I haven't heard this since I was 16 years old (in'89). Forgot about it but it's a GREAT song!!!
...there is a light when darkness ends - AMEN!
One of Elton's most underrated singles/songs!
Agreed!
Totally agree. I have no idea why this one isn't played more. Remember this well from when it came out. I loved it back then and still do
I agree with Billy.
I agree one of my relatives died last week and this song helped me.
I loved the song when it came out even though I was too immature to understand the lyrics. 25 years later, I was recovering from a toxic relationship. I was drinking heavily and had severe mental illness that wasn't treated for years. This song and "Blue Avenue" helped get me through it.
I have never told anyone this but doctors, I suffer from depression. Yes, it’s real and is tough to live with. This song gives me hope that one day “healing hands” will reach out and get me through this. Listening to songs like this at night gives me that calm feeling and gives me hope that better days are ahead.
Good music is the best medicine.
Yes sir it is. Always loved this masterpiece.
Hope youre doing well
Can't believe this song is over 30 years ago, hasn't aged a day. Great stuff Mr john.
There 's a light when the darkness ends..I hope it soon!...
One of the greatest singers and pianists out there. His duet with George Michael is beyond words. Let our healing hands heal our world from the pandemic, hunger, poverty, war, homelessness, climate change….
2 Thessalonians 3:13. Stay blessed. Your definitely a big light to lead the darkness into salvation.
"There's a light when the darkness ends"so beautiful...
Underrated & insanely catchy. He really needs to add this one back to the setlist of his farewell tour.
Sure
So strong is this song
His most underated song.
Agree
One of Elton John's best ever songs. This song has got me through some hard situations.
I loved this song when it came out but still need to listen to it when the darkness beckons me.
It sure is one of his best! Along with empty garden! They’re spiritual songs! This one shows that he missed the opportunity to believe in GOD, and instead sold out to the Enemy, but it wasn’t what he bargained for. The Bible talks about people drowning in perdition. (The scene of the hands coming out of the water). Also the hand coming out of the ground. It says we are a field ( flowering grass, grain- wheat and tares).
Both those songs he is trying to move on without GOD in his life, and live the best he can. I think most if not all songs have “ hidden” spiritual meanings.
Agreed, It truly is a great song, I love it!
I agree.
@@reverentalexanderchezeley-6367yep😊
This song has helped me in my hardest times
same here
Yup
Me too. Much more than just a straight love song that it appears to be on the surface.
Same all his songs helped me ❤
Yepper
This is has to be one of Elton underrated songs
This whole album was underrated. I think it stacks up there with his very best
Healing Hands is yet another example of the wonderful partnership between Taupin and John.
Elton really needed those Healing Hands at the time this was released.
Clare Sherman I wondered about this as I know he was battling addictions at the time and went into rehab I think.
Que hermosa cancion por Dios tkm Elton Genio
My favorite part is how he sings 'There's a light'. I swear he has the best inflection and emotional affect to his singing. Superb judgment.
Yes, there’s always been something special and unique in his phrasing. His vocal on Levon epitomized that gift. Never heard anything like it.
Elton John's songs calm me when I'm going anxiety.....every song he sings is healing for me.....I've loved him for 46 years...
Sir elton John's hands are magic, the way he plays the piano is not less then magic .
"Elton Magic" He's the only Artist that makes me cry !
In my opinion this is Elton's best song ever. I have always loved this song despite not being a fan of Elton John.
This one and “Made in England,” two of my very favorite, COMPLETELY underrated, and positively underplayed Sir Elton songs!
Hubby looks like the Highlander.
love Elton in the 80's. His raw energy was infectious and loved this song. Very powerful and catchy at the same time.
He was pumpming out great music during this period but his personal battles with drugs and alcohol were rife...
I get a kick out of that one back-up singer on the right. She's got some real charisma.
the best singer of all times
Anyone here 2024... awesome music ❤
Love this song.
Hell yes. I need this more than ever.
❤amo Sir Elton..
Tanto que meu filho tem esse nome..
Artístico e todos nós amamos Elton John ❤
People are here every day of every year. Don't ask such a dumbass question just to win thumbs up from strangers.
The song that changed and saved my life at a time whereas I didn’t think that I would have it real good!
My son caught a cold or something when he was a month old. The doctors couldn't find a vein to put an IV into. Eventually they had to stick one into his head. While I spent the nights in the hospital with him, I used this song as a lullaby for him.
Yes, he is perfectly fine now. Ten years old and his teachers complement how intelligent he is.
Elton's geniality is contagious
And he is blessed to have such a caring mother.
The beauty of music.
Your comment made me smile. Lots of love and wishes from India.
La bondad, el amor y la alegria siempre venceran; las de una madre como vos;
THIS is MUSIC
Please heal all of us so this can be over🙏🙏🙏heal those sick and hurting and all of us isolated and dealing with grief
Let s make it! With gpmsdotworld❤
I heard this song for the first time about a year ago, and it's been one of my favourite songs ever since. It's been so inspirational to me in ways that are as multiple as the fish in the ocean. I love this song. I've been a fan of Sir Elton John since I was quite young, and this song went straight to the top of my favourite songs of his from the first time I heard it. This was even the first video I liked on RUclips. This is also one of the best and one of the most uplifting music videos I have ever seen, no joke, no bias, no fooling, in all sincerity, and all for real life!
Those background singers are awesome!!
Agreed, those sisters were not playing in this video. Sings ladies. Another great live video, Shine On by Primal Scream. Great background sisters singing there, too
Just another in the long line of great Elton songs.. and one of his better videos. Never tire of listening/watching this
This is a great song and video of compassion.
2020 We need healing hands 🤲🏻
My mom was a registered nurse and she heard this song at a conference and fell in love. She passed away so I know she is playing this in heaven
His #13 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 from late 1989
I miss this kind of music
Underrated song, heard it on the way to work this morning and had get on here for another listen, great stuff
I agree song is so Underrated I can't believe it was a B side to sacrifice
@@teresasmith7391 actually "Healing Hands" was the first released single in 1989 from the album "Sleeping With The Past".
A reissued version was released as a double A side for "Sacrifice" in 1990.
Yeah. He has made such a great music, but this is one of my Elton's favs.
"Healing Hands"'89 - it's one of the most his splendidly songs . Like eternal spirit of hope.
Bravo - Elton John.!🎼🎹
I agree tragically underrated and in fact one of eltons best x
For me, this is the best Elton John song ever!!!❤
God damn Eltons voice was beautiful here!
This guy is a beast, sings, plays piano, he's a myth from 80's. Long life Sir Elton John we need your talent to turn dark into light...
Such an underrated Elton song!
One of the best songs I've ever heard. Listening in May 2021. It's powerfull, we need healing hands in this crazy world, need healing hands in such hard times. Need healing hands to not lose ourself. Need healing hands to start again #weneedhealinghands
I remember singing this aloud at his concert when it first came out. It was like being at a Church Revival. Yes, we need to stop , breathe, and just show love.
Rock me now
One of EJs most underrated songs. (Why left off Diamonds?). Great lyric and tune.
I totally forgot about this song and I used to love it very much. The radio stations stopped playing it once it was off the chart. I only remember this song just now when I was googling about Elton John’s single releases. It is definitely one of his bests.
So underrated it’s unbelievable
I'm here because this song never seems to get played on the radio
I love Elton in the 80s
I've always been amazed at the longevity of this star artiste and enjoy his songs immensely.
The sleeping with the past album is underrated
OMG!! I was flicking through the channels on my tv tonight landed on the abc1 rage which was having an Elton John special and this song came on I absolutely remember hearing this song when I was young but I had no idea elton john sang it it's one of my favourite songs it's up beat and catchy I got the song stuck in my head. Download it off Spotify and haven't stop listening to it. My mum sister and me are seeing elton john in concert at the end of the year I can't wait ! I think elton john is such a great song writer and performer I really hope he sings this song
Just saw him tonight in Yarra Valley blown away such an icon and rightly so xx
brilliant underrated song! could sing this classic in church!!♥️♥️♥️
BRILLIANT VIDEO. He's actually having a ball filming THIS. those smiles 😁😁😁😁👄👄👄💋💋
LOVE his style in this video! Also, 3:14-3:15 🥰
Superb eh
One of the best bridges I've ever heard, so powerful, so brillianf, so strong.... Amazing!!!
I remember when this was released in 1989, he sang this on the Wogan show. It was the first time that i had heard it and i was blown away. Such a brilliant and underrated tune. One of his best 🤩
This is a song I probably heard when I was about 10 years old, but forgot about it until hearing it on the radio recently. Great spiritual and universal truths in the lyrics, the costuming, this song has it all. 💓💕💗💙💞
what a classic, what a vibe, what a TIME!!!
One of Elton's best deep-cuts EVER!
My second favorite song by Sir Elton (right behind “Sacrifice” funnily enough).
For me, it’s slightly the other way. I guess for the same reason: we both caught the UK re-release in real-time.
I recently heard this song on the radio again, wow who says time travel doesn't exist, I feel like I've been transported back to my childhood in the 80's
Elton is SO amazing. This video proves his Power. The Seventies were His Decade. No One Had His Success then. And Yet, in 1989, he Almost reached those Heights Again. The Ultimate Performer. Thank You Sir Elton! You Are The Man.
roliman55 e
One of the most powerful videos I've ever seen.
Have a look at Elton's "Cry To Heaven" - another powerful video.
Great song. & Another great song that i think is underrated is 'The measure of a man' from Rocky 5...😊👌
Yes! the measure of a man is a great song my friend.. 😊👌
this song is a classic, at least in Argentina, the country that I was born. Still in the radio for sure.
It reminds Elton 's friendship with Freddie 😢😢😢😢😢😢
Sleeping with the Past is a fantastic album.
I've always been amazed at the longevity of this star artiste and enjoy his songs immensely.
It is/ he is quite remarkable, right? :)
Thx I'm not alone in this thought.
Gifted men awaken gifts in others
Has to be one of Elton underrated songs
Judithkitching this song reminds me off when princess Dianne past away and that made me realise ifelt that she was with me inside of me like we connected because I felt her pain and made me
Realised that I felt it was my job take over because I felt the same way , but I've being sexually abused by some family friends and my family that's why I love that song because that reminded me long time ago it doesn't matter if his or not but I loved his song because it really works on me even the newest one recently came out and there is a.another song like I just call away 👍
I love Elton in the 80s
That's where he made his best hits 😂 but ea generation speaks, fir itself.
@@elainepotter6430 the 70's were the best for elton
@@elainepotter6430 by far
@@biggreen216 Obviously I love Elton at any time
, but in my opinion the 80s were his greatest experimentation period: new sounds, funny videos, fantastic live shows, unique atmospheres that he would never find again: the 70s are the period of discovery, the 80s were the period of change, the 90s are his definitive maturation period
@@LiberoAzzurro Agreed, but in terms of quality of music, nothing beats goodbye yellow brick road
Love this song, and the energy and joy he is singing it with. Fantastic.
Heavy gospel influences on this track, as well as the previous one on the album "Amazes Me"... two of my faves on this album
UK Hits Chart. 5 weeks @ #1 from 23/06/1990 to 27/07/1990. Part 2 of a double A sided single.
Thanks for that info. :-)
Viel besser als so manche Titel von Elton ,die höher in den Charts waren.
Hard to watch this with tears in your eyes.
I've always thought this song had some very powerful spiritual influences
3:13 -- That got me big time. A perfect illustration of Jesus reaching out to save a soul.
should have played this more in concert
Un genio ❤❤❤❤❤
So underrated
There's a light
When the darkness ends! Touch me now and let me see again!!!
The best Elton John song that's more upbeat
Sleeping With The Past proves Elton is STILL standing!
Favourite Elton song, just never played enough
One of the greatest songs ever made.
Elton at his finest
I love the chord progression in this one. Basically it has two main keys, first it goes in the key of Bb major (with some Etlon-style suspended 7th chords, of course), then the build-up goes with crescendo and using minor chord (g minor), and it switches perfectly into D major key for the chorus (which is so catchy, even for Elton John!). . .
It also has an amazing, yet short, bridge, and a equally amazing outro. In short, perfection.
Woke up hearing this in my memory bank. Reminds me of Matthew 21:14, which is what I first opened up to this A.M.
It makes me sad to know that the leadership is turning away those who are in turmoil.
When I drive past a closed church M-F, I pray for them to gain a temple of guilt.
Geniooooooo
this is one of my favourite Elton's video. the first is Nikita!
This was the number one song July 17 1990 when I was born on 123 p.m.
i love this video, one of my faves and one of my fave songs.
One of his best
0:46. The black guys face conveys so much emotion. It still gives me chills
Do yiuthink tht fce of hite guy woukd hve conveyed such eotions? Why not a white guts holfing a black' guy? it D
one of my favs by Elton. it soars.
My childhood memories right here. This was in my opinion Elton best album.
