He bears the Elven Ring of Power called Narya. It has the power to embolden everyone around the bearer. So Gandalf was being super inspiring in addition to his own powers. 😁👍
Eomer was like “oi sauron killed me wife and took me bloody son womp womp”
“Oi hughie I found a way to take out homelander…ring of fockin power mate”
Theoden's face: 🗿
„Oi aragorn, wormtongue posessed my fookin grandpa and wants to shag my bloody sistah, dirty cunt that he is”
Might also be worth noting: Eomer himself wasn't leading the reinforcements in the books. He was at Helm's Deep the whole time.
Great call out. Fair point... I just rewatched my vid and yep, I should prob have said that more directly. Thanks! Once again my mistakes will live on in the internet forever 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
@@thegreyhavens167How dare you forget that!
Just kidding. What's with OP talking to you like an idiot because you forgot? What a jerkoff😂
Why would that be worth noting? He's describing the events of the film, not the book. Are you a spastic?
The credit goes to Erkenbrand of the westfold, descendent of Helm Hammerhand.
It’s also of note that erkenbrand and most of his men were on foot and that the only reason helms deep was a functioning fortress is that erkenbrand extensively repaired it, I’m not sure whether erkenbrand or háma is my favourite eorlingas
The G doing it all by himself once again. What a legend! Someone get him some 'erbs from dem Tooks
Aww yeah!!! Wizard G is the O G!! [gangstas paradise playing softly in the background]
Eomer was at helms deep already in the books and it should also be noted he’s FAR more active in the books as a character. Wish we got more of him in the movies. Him and Aragorn have some badass fights together
Don't you mean How did Butcher gets all those "BOYS" together?
I absolutely love how the creator directly answers, and how he uses music and sound effects perfectly at the right time.
Most creators are so lazy they blast the same music across the entire video so you literally hear NOTHING else said.
Mad props!
Thanks, I really appreciate that. Just trying to have a bit of fun while exploring Tolkien's world (some folks get too serious about it IMHO). Glad you liked it 😅
I got to meet the actor in person, super chill and nice guy! It makes me love all his characters 11 times more… always thought Eomer was a neat character even if he was hardly shown in the movie
You got to meet Karl Urban? Honestly everything his does is amazing. His work in the boys is beyond incredible. Seems like a super nice guy too. How did you get to meet him?
@@thegreyhavens167 He was also great as Judge Dredd. Easy to forget, as he never takes off the helmet in the film.
He's even better, Eomer, in the books. More honourable and badass!

@@nss309 🤦 Reading it back, yeah, that was pretty cringe....
The imagery of Gandalf doing donuts and burnouts on Shadowfax w/ the Mandalorian music in the background just made my geeky little mind explode.
🤣🤣🤣🤣. I love this comment so much!!!!!!!
I just assumed he was some kind of general, so when Grima tookover Eomer buggered off with half (if not most of) the army.
That could work. In the books he is called "Third Marshall of the Riddermark", making him basically the fourth most powerful person in Rohan
He virtually is a general, but he didn't bugger off with them - For the most part Rohan is decentralised, they're not all surrounding the tiny bloody encampment we see Theoden at, they're across scattered villages and camps - unified to protect their lands but largely living separately until called upon
Rallied scattered forces yeah - Took said forces to begin with, well there were never there to be taken so no
Gandalf was like, “I’m just that good.”
Ah yes, good to see my favourite duck-related Lord of the Rings meme featured
There is a chance those Ducks... in that meme... is the greatest single thing ever put to film!!!!! 🤔
A sequence of Gandalf rounding up the scattered troops and all of them meeting right before their downhill charge is a scene I need now.
Dude, I love how you present information!
That duck army meme might never die out anytime soon I swear
😅. I mean the duck army could very well be the best Internet vid of all time. 🤔🤔
Gandalf is so real and he is a very disciplined worker. When you work like that, success comes quickly.
Gandalf is such an MVP. He solo a balrog, he lead Gondor garrison, and also this. In term of combat, he's the most baddass in the movie.
My assumption was that Eiomer led that many troops to Helms Deep because that was how extensively Grima had disarmed Rohan. Remember Grima was there to make prevent Rohan from reinforcing the Steward of Gondor.
I literally just got done reading the helms deep battle and had so many questions, this video answered them all thank you!
Glad it was helpful! 😁.
I absolutely love these videos!!! Keep up the amazing work🎉

That mandalorian music with helms deep in the background and you saying it is fanatstic
I love the way you present these videos! 😅❤
Thanks for sending over the positive vibes. I appreciate that!! Hope you have an Awesome Wednesday!!!
A movie could be made just about the Battles of the Fords of Isen, and it would be glorious. And insanely tragic.
With the king under Saruman, he may have dismissed all his bannerman, Eomer just rallied all the banners
Gandalf playing 4D chess as usual
This was the Second Battle of the Fords of Isen. We see the aftermath of the First Battle in the Extended Edition. The orcs were repulsed but Theoden's son was killed.
I like to imagine that some of my comments influenced the shift in your language when presenting these.
I'm definitely not complaining.
The great Gatsby movie is the best example of why breathing modern life into a classic allows for a deeper understanding and depth.
Also you get to really show off the pimps without having to explain why they're badass.
Either way still love these little videos man 😁🔥.
Wow, great comment! Thanks for the positive vibes. They really mean a lot!! 🙇
About the influence from the audience:
* yep, I made several different types of LOTR videos over a few months (video game/scott pilgrim stuff, slow sleepy story-time content, deep lore dives) and the audience definitely picked this one with views and engagement!
* but for the comments exactly... well they are pretty much all over the place. Honestly, quite a few are kinda angry at me (how dare you mix GoT, Starwars, Skyrim, and Zelda into my LOTR... 🤬🤬!!) Hard to get solid info from all that 🤣.
Honestly, I mostly just try to combine the things that I personally love into these and make something that makes me laugh, personally. So it's really an audience of one I guess 🤷♂️. I just make content I really enjoy and makes me smile.... and hope someone else feels he same 🤞
@@thegreyhavens167
Whenever you create something, your opinion matters most. Trying to please everyone might get you on trending easier, but trends shift too frequently to keep up with. Doing something you like makes it so that you're proud of your work long after the trends are forgotten.
@@phasepanther4423 Yeah I think your right. I originally tried to do what others were doing... or what I thought the audience wanted... it really didn't work for me until I just started doing what is personal to me.

That's fu***ING diabolical
Gandalf's God was well aware he was the chosen one to defeat Sauron, he was humble and didn't think highly of himself to be able to best Sauron. Makes sense why Eru never directly interfered with the world of men. He (Eru) had confidence in Gandalf which is a really big flex.
That defeats the whole point. Why didn't he beat Sauron then?
@cringekiller348 The last time Eru directly intervened in middle earth was near the end of the second age. He ended up sinking the island continent of Numinor, turned the whole planet from disk-shaped to a 🌎 globe, and removed the undying lands from the world entirely, ensuring that only the elves (and a few lucky b*st*rds like Bilbo, Frodo, Sam, and Gimli) could even visit there. The last time the Valar intervened was at the end of the first age, in the War of Wrath, where they left the west half of middle earth, west of the blue mountains, Tore Up From The Floor Up and sunk beneath the ocean. In the mythic history of Tolkien, Eru and the Valar are forces of good, but they seem to lack subtly. Maybe they left humanity, the elves, the dwarves, and the hobbits, with a little help from Gandalf to settle Sauron's hash on their own because the planet just couldn't take any more direct "help?"
The War of Wrath seems to have a biblical parallel in the flood of Noah story, and the fall of Numinor might be parallel to the story of Sodom and Gomorrah. Just guessing

Eomer rocks! The fieldmarshal of Rohan, I love the Rohirim, hail Teoden King! The epic charge before the gates of Minas Tirith still is bonechilling to watch. Gondor calls for aid......and Rohan will answer!!!
Yes yes yes! One could make a strong case that Theoden King charging the Pelenor field is one of the greatest movie moments! My personal favorite line from the Rohirim.... "to the king!!!!"
The call went out that the Rohirrim were mustering and if the warriors brought their own horse they would be issued armor...the rest was LEGEND!!!
In the movie has well Aragon told the king he had 2,000 troops marching north. I always assumed those were the troops that’s showed up at Helms Deep
rohan's army's size keeps increasing in the movie tbf
So true 🤣🤣🤣
When we first see Eomer.... maybe 50 or so.... then at Helms Deep like thousands... then at Minas Tirith.... MILLIONS!!!!! 😅

How did galadriel and saruman move so much in short time in hobbit like lorien to imladris overnight
Great question. In the books, totally different. They planned out the meetings years in advance and got there the old fashion way ... walking.
But in the film.... Galadriel kinda disappeared suddenly at the end. I almost wonder if they were not really there at all, and it was just maybe a magical elf zoom call??? What do you think?

How is Bannerlords? I played the very first M&B quite a bit when it was in Beta and loved it. The combat felt so brutal! Is Bannerlord worth playing? Also, I only get to play a couple hours a week... it seems like the kind of game where you need enough time to grind. Would it be fun for just smaller sessions?
@@thegreyhavens167 honestly, there have been so many patches to the game that now it’s in the perfect sweet spot. I’ve spent hours equivalent to weeks playing the game. Question: Why didn't glorfindel join the fellowship? He was super powerful
BECAUSE THOSE PREPPY LONG EARS ARE SUPER LAZY!!!!! 🤣🤣🤣
jk, but in the book there is an interesting twist. Elrond knows he needs 9 people to be in the Fellowship to match the 9 Nazgul. They immediately pick 7 of them, but for the other two he wants to send two of his super hero elves. I always assumed one of them would be Glorfindel... but at the last minute Gandalf convinces him to send Merry and Pippin instead.
Now I truly love Merry and Pip... but if I were Frodo and had a choice between those two knuckleheads and a couple Glorfindels??? I mean...
@@thegreyhavens167 also wasn't there the risk glorfindel was "too powerful" and would draw attention? Dude was basically an elf angel. Killed a balrog then came back to give a verbal beatdown to the witch king
@@crimsonconquestcustoms2584 yeah totally true. He is light a nuclear bomb wherever he goes... so much for stealth :)
Still... if my choice is Glorfindel or a fool of a Took....
Elrond advises against powerful Elves going, he says even if he had an army like the old days it's not what the Fellowship need. Hence all 4 Hobbits go.
It's assumed Elrond needed Glorfindel and his sons to act as messengers to Lothlorien and Lindon, as well as protection for the Wandering Companies still in Eriador.
It
@@SantomPh Well said. That makes total sense to me 👍
But you know what bothers me a bit.... why not send one of those elves to the Shire? Elrond knew something like that might happen, all the way back at the Council. I mean Frodo and Sam and Merry and Pip are out there risking their lives while these elves hang out in beautiful Rivendell munching on lembas bread, seems like the least they could do is protect the shire a bit - especially after Elrond sent the Rangers to the south. I mean honestly, just 4-5 soldiers could have stopped Sharkey's pitiful gang, right?

Never forget Eomer was royal family a prince if you will after Theoden’s son died. And Third Marshall of the Mark. He was THE only one that could gather all them big boys. But he was at Helms Deep the whole time in the books. Still cool tho.
I gotta say if Saruman actually persuaded Gandalf to join him to destroy the men of middle earth they would have been so screwed, like Gandalf is the ONLY reason they held 2 major defenses during the war without his interference at helms deep and presence at Minas thirth they would have been so screwed although that’s almost a 2 way street if Saruman wouldn’t have betrayed the elves and men and dwarf alliance then Sauron wouldn’t have had HALF the amount of forces he did have I personally feel like tolkin knew exactly what he was doing creating one dark wizard and one light wizard and giving them so much influence on the entire story made them that much more important
i always wondered. when aragorn legolas and gimli meet eomer, it was only a squad of maybe 15/20 horsemen. then he shows up at the end with THOUSANDS. but i loved the movie so i never complained.

He didn't 😂
for the movies i always believed that Eomer took the army with him when he got exiled by Grima, so that all Gandalf had to do was find Eomer & tell him that Grima got tossed out & Theoden was himself again. yeah maybe some more scattered riders needed to get called from around the region but the bulk was already with Eomer in exile.

What would have happened to Sméagol/Gollum if he survived?
Great question. My initial instinct is that he would have suddenly aged the last 550 years in an instant. 😵😵
But if he could survive truly.... I don't personally think he was beyond redemption. What do you think?
Going off of the films: A snack for Shelob and her babies as a balance for what Frodo and Sam went through.
