He doesn’t get the credit but much of the “modern metal” sound we love he created back in the late 80s. It was 10-20 years ahead of its time.

Page is a super stand up dude! He's always been super cool to me, and we've had several great convos over the years. Massively underrated player and songwriter. Def a purveyor of heavy articulate music. Doesn't matter how many times I've seen them, their sheer power, volume and tightness live is unmatched. I get goosebumps just thinking about it. He will always be an influence on myself as a guitar player in many ways. thanks guys!

I’ve always been in awe of his tone and technique, and although I’m heavily influenced by him, I’m on my own quest to find my sound, and I might be getting closer!

Coming up as a young guitar player in 2004-2005 I wasn't that big on Page's ESP model but looking at it here it looks absolutely unreal. Not a prolific Helmet fan but the track "Crashing Foreign Cars" from 'Size Matters' was the soundtrack to my adolescence - great guitar tone and performances all around. I didn't realise it was Page on vocals lol.

Helmet is one of those bands that while I never got really into, still managed to be a notable influence for me. Metal and even grunge and everything in the mid 90's was still lacking heavily in terms of groove and bands like Helmet and Rage Against the Machine really showed how you could apply groove to heavier music in a great way. And I've never forgotten this lesson, even as I play more complex stuff, I still have this kind of innate need to make my music something you can feel you can move to.
