What I love most about Insidious is that the actor portraying the Red-Faced Demon is also the composer for the movie's soundtrack
What ? Really ?! He took the cake with this one, the music is ABSOLUTELY terrifying. Totally terrifying. I watched this movie when I was a kid and the amount of goosebumps it STILL gives me is insane.
Watched this at my first sleepover when i was 13. Didnt sleep right for months 😂

But that’s not why jigsaw was on there. Leigh Whannell wrote this and Saw, and it was an Easter egg mainly to him

16:17 I remember this scene scaring my cousin so bad she left the room crying and never finished the movie and from what I understand still hasn't finished it to this day. It was so interesting and funny because it didn't scare me at all I honestly hardly noticed it and I think maybe thats because her reaction distracted and caught me off guard more than the scene itself
It scares not because its a jumpscare (One of cuts of original Paranormal Activity made me effectively immune to jumpscares), but because this creature silently appears behind guy's back and he is not aware of it. This scene wakes some kind of primal fear of being caught helpless like in sleep or from out of sight.
@@angeltensey That makes sense I had a similar experience with the first conjuring where a scene just freaked me out and gave me chills and still does. But like I said I guess her reaction to it just took me out of it, it's an amazing moment but i can never not think of how she handled it especially because it was the first time I've ever seen anything like that.

I saw this in the theater with my little sister when it came out, it was in a mall and the movie ended late, so the stores were all closed and most of the lights were off. Someone played the sounds of that little ghost boy laughing over the speaker system of the mall. Almost everyone took off running for the door, it sacred the shit out of us. We think it's hilarious now though
Yeah that's my favorite scary movie. I think James Wan decided to make it after someone basically told him "Yeah Saw is scary but it's because there is blood everywhere, you can't scare people without gore, blood or crazy religious stuff" So James did a "hold my beer" kind of move. Also I love all the genuine sleep stuff it is based on like astral projection, sleep paralysis (happened to me once, terrifying stuff)
It's not part of any series, but Netflix's original, "The Ritual," was a really good horror movie that, on the surface, has some great scares, serious discomfort, and a hell of a monster. As far as the deeper, introspective horror, it's an exploration of how different people handle guilt.

That was a fun one to watch as a Swede, cause it's OBVIOUSLY not filmed in Sweden. But that monster though.. it's rare that a monster film gets BETTER after you see the actual monster!
The hopeful "Is this like Beetlejuice?" had me dying
The creaking, it’s Rigor Mortis , bodies when people die become rigid and they crack when they are moved. It’s also an explanation with slow moving zombies,
the creaking is unique to the "lipstick face demon" (as it is called in the credits). it appears in all four films and is the only creature that makes a creaking sound when it appears.
insidious, the ring and dead silence were what really got me into binge watching horrors

But when they react to the other Insidious films they'll be confused because the other films doesn’t continue the story it tells the story backwards. Because Part one is actually the last film. They never released another Insidious film that continued the story of what took place after the ending of part one.

If you haven't seen Sinister yet, I highly recommend it. Like Hereditary, it goes behind cinematic thrill and messes with your psyche in the real world.

I'm a non superstitious person but the astral projection thing in this film strikes a chord with me because I nearly died from an epileptic seizure when I was younger and felt myself float away from my body and lie on the ceiling, looking at my spasming body on the floor. Slightly different I know but a strong memory for me.
For me it’s too realistic bc I suffered from sleep paralysis. The idea that somebody could invade me while I’m trying to regain control of my body….HELL NO

No I prefer the conjuring franchise and spin offs are way way better there not good no where on the same level as the conjuring
The way how these two are so absorbed into the film and getting their heart pounding like every moment... just shows how good James Wan is with horror films. He has added a lot of those Asian horror film elements as well as supernatural elements into his own, which is why they are so scary. Not something you always get to see in Hollywood horror films.

horror is my favorite genre so i’ve seen SO MANY horror movies.. and this is the only horror film that i almost walked out of the theater due to me being so scared lol. now when i rewatch it, i’m fine but seeing this for the first time is a theater was insane.

another thing that makes this movie stand out from other horror movies is the acting. the cast choices for Patrick Wilson & Rose Byrne was amazing & they feed into eachother so well. also the 2 'ghostbusters' or whatever you want to call them, that show up later to help out bring a comedic aspect that was so well needed after an hour of pure dread and melanchol.
This movie made me have nightmares for 2 weeks as a kid but when I watch it now it’s barely even scary but good reaction🔥 I love your channel

I *highly* recommend both of the films, "We Need To Talk About Kevin" and "The Perks Of Being A Wallflower" if you haven't seen them already. I am quite a big fan of actor Ezra Miller and have been since they played kevin in we need to talk about kevin which was first released back in 2012, which led me to watch the perks of being a wallflower which came out later that same year. And let me tell you, Ezra is such an amazing actor! Both of Ezra's characters in these movies are so drastically different from each other, yet these movies both came out within the same year, it is absolutely insane, and it really shows how good their acting is. These movies are both incredible and i really like them :) btw, if you do decide to react to them, We Need To Talk About Kevin has been reuploaded to watch for free on youtube and the person who uploaded it never seemed to have any issues with it since its been up for almost 10 months, so you should be clear of any copyright problems, im not sure about The Perks Of Being A Wallflower, though. And i do also recommend watching We Need To Talk About Kevin First 🥰

I went to my friend’s house one night. This movie had just came out on DVD. I walked up to the door, knocking. I heard them screaming and then the violin screech at the end. I kicked heels. Wasn’t messing with a horror movie that night. I really like this movie, but every time I watch it, it really scares the hell outta me.

You guys have started the series now, you have to keep going 😁 James Wan is the director, he did "Cojuring" and "Saw" to name a few, he's a epic horror director. The kid who played Dalton was initially really scared of the "Demon", so the director had him go into make up with the actor who plays the demon, to see the make up process, and then the kid wasn't scared. Theres a behind the scenes video on RUclips showing it 👍But yes "Insidious 2" 🙏🙏🙏🙏
