May I just add that this has been 💯PERCENT AWESOME! At every turn the scenery is just fantastic! Love the narration, story telling, and just plain sharing the trail experience. All the very best to you and your trail fam!!!
My husband has been following you and we have been watching your OCT hike on our TV so, I thought it was about time I liked and subscribed. I did check out the Meandering McGees and let them know you said to watch them. We too live in Florida and are planning on hiking the PCT in March 2025. I have watched MANY PCT hikers but when I watch your videos I feel like I’m right there with you. Be well and happy trails.
Good morning, Juliane. What a day. Loved the water shots. All of the scenery was awesome. Congrats on reaching and surpassing the 1300-mile marker. Also on hiking 32+ miles today. Juliane, you are truly a hiking powerhouse. The sunset shot was absolutely awesome. Very beautiful. That golden light on the campsite was great. I know you said you moved because of the wind. Hopefully, Boujee will catch you tomorrow. Take care. Stay safe. See you tomorrow.
An incredible day! Finished the Sierra range Reached 1300 miles (almost the halfway point) Cranked out 32+ miles in one day Entered the Cascade range These are a big set of accomplishments, congratulations! As you saw on the sign, the separation of the Sierra and Cascade ranges is a geological separation as well as geographic, the rock composition changes from metamorphic to volcanic. At the Devil's Postpile you saw an intrusion of volcanic basalt rock through the older metamorphic rock, now all the rock will be volcanic of types. Volcanic is much more damaging to shoes when it is not covered with sand or dirt, it wears the tread quickly and slicing through fabric uppers. Some volcanic rock has a tinkling sound when you walk on it and it's sharp as broken glass, other volcanic rock floats on water, and still more appears as hexagonal basalt columns. I hope you enjoy the changes coming up, including live volcanic features.
I live about an hour from Belden town. When I need to get away and find solitude, I drive there and put my pack on and go out for a night or two. I’ve hiked north out of Belton town several times now. It is a tough but beautiful hike. You made it look easy 😊. There’s a campsite just before you cross over Chips Creek (10 miles from Belden?) a small waterfall right there, that is awesome.
You may already know this: Heads up: there is a PCT trail closure, because of the Shelly fire by Etna. Check for the PCT walk around. The fire crossed the PCT trail heading northeast.
Could you describe how and when you edit your videos. It must take time. Between the big miles and all the chores, I'm wondering how you find time to edit for all the daily posting. Amazing.
Now I know you're truly the Roadrunner!!😅 32.6 miles hiked ! 4 800 ft gain in elevation! Hit 1300 miles hiked! Your hybrid half Roadrunner and half Hiking Dancer!
Jenny😊
Wow! Reaching 1300 miles on a 32.6 mile day! 👏👏👏 As an aside, which you probably already know, summer started early here in the middle of the Sunshine State. It is now 8:25 AM and 80°. The rainy season is trying to start.
Yes it was the Dixie fire 2021 . I live in Susanville and had to evacuate the day I signed the papers to my house. But in the same area as the Dixie fire there was the Campfire, it went the opposite way and took out the town of Paradise. Please be safe traveling forward if there is a fire further on and they tell you to evacuate go! Also going through this area we had some issues with the Rainbow people.😂😂😂
I think its fair to say the HIGH sierra ends at Kennedy Meadows North. Or maybe after Tahoe because thats nearly as high. But yes the sierra overall ends at Birney.
Watched you on the AT and now on the PCT. I'm in my 70's so I have to limit my miles. Lol I do what I can. Big T started the PCT. On June 30th sobo. Maybe you two will meet along the way.
It's interesting to see differences in styles of different hikers. Even though you are on a wilderness trail like the PCT, you seem to be going into every town around, basically every 2-3 day max, which is very AT style. It does look like it makes you happy which is what's important. Even in the high Sierras you went into every possible place breaking it all to 4 days sections. I wonder how will you feel going 8-9 days straight between towns. Thanks for sharing your journey.
I think I would try to hike as many miles as I could every day because I love forward motion. But then I feel like I would feel guilty that I didn’t take it slower and stop to “smell the roses” enough. Is that a common hiker feeling?
Yikes, the big climb, in the afternoon, after lunch, in an exposed burn section. Very impressive - definitely capable of 40s in OR. You should do the 24 hr challenge. I sponsored a hiker that ended up doing 72 miles.
@@larkangel6593 or the PCT Oregon Challenge. Pretty simple 😊: Hike roughly 35 miles per day for 14 days straight, crossing the entire state of Oregon (mile 1692 - mile 2148) in 2 weeks.
WHAT - I LOVE BURGERS 🍔 without the BUN @ home 🏡 and with the BUN @ the restaurant. @ home - CHEESE BURGER with " Tillamook cheese " cut from a block of cheese. At the restaurant - A DOUBLE. WITH. FRIES 🍔🍟. YUMMY. And of course CHOCOLATE SHAKE. Chocolate shake 🙃😏🤗

Every hiker have his own goals. This is just her style to fullfill 'Mission Canada', which is not really compatible with 'stop everywhere'. Chap does lot more stops, but is around 200 miles behind. In the past years it was always an advantage to reach Oregon and Washington early (because of the wildfires)
@@michel.h_cf99 Well for sure it makes better videos all the other ones that I see doing the PCT climbing mountains, going to the famous landmarks and still continuing after on the PCT almost at the same pace, not just seen the dirt path all the time and missing all these great landmarks.
