Thank you for this tutorial. The best paper clay tutorial Ive seen. Your patient and informative. This gives the viewer plenty of time to truly learn how to properly make and use the clay. Again thank you and I will be sharing this with my daughters for my grandchildren who are home schooled. My 15 year old grandaughter will be ecstatic. She is my artistically blessed grandchild. I use paper clay all the time, but I don't think it's made from newspaper, but rather some type of softer white paper as it's much softer than the white/gray color of many brands, like Das. I'd love to see more projects from you using paper clay.

Given the time this takes and the cost of ingredients, I'm not sure this would be a better choice than just buying air dry modeling clay. But I do think it creates an interesting texture. Thank you for the tutorial. :)
I'd say it's really good for recycling, i got a pile of papers i don't need so i might just put them in use
A few years ago I was testing DIY Texture Paste recipes and of the two I liked best one used cornstarch and one used baby powder. After a lot of testing with stencils, free-style molding, "plastering" we discovered that the baby powder held the fine details and was much smoother. Maybe not for this clay, but for your cold porcelain clay have you ever tried baby powder instead of cornstarch?

It looks like paper clay might be preferable over the glue/cornstarch air dry clay I watched on your video the other day because it doesn’t shrink as much. Which do you prefer? Pop gets hard really quick...if you can work on your project before its gets hard then yes you can use pop...but you wont be able to store the clay and have to make it fresh every time when you want to use it

Hi, I really love your tutorials! I love this one too! I wanted to share some helpful things with you... When you see 'tissue' or 'tissue paper' in an English speaking tutorial, it means a type of tissue that is used in wrapping gifts, a very thin sheet of paper, and does not mean toilet tissue, or face tissue (used for your nose)... Also, 'flour' is pronounced, in English, 'flower'.... and just a small tip here, 'doesn't' has the apostrophe between the N and the T... Please keep up the good work!

I am from India and English is not my first language...just like all Indians I have strong Indian accent and we pronounce words differently. The toilet paper or paper towel is called tissue paper in India, this is how we got tought...I am in USA now since last 4 years and I am getting know the American English, here only i came to know what is called tissue paper here in US...In India UK english get followed, we have our own english words too which are not familiar in US or UK. Thats really funny😀
I am trying to learn. I use this language so that I can reach out to more people.
(Plz dont mind terms American and UK english, we differentiate both english speaking styles like this as its not our first language,....once I was trying to explain this to one lady and she got offended Lol😀)

Yes you are right... specially pop dries really fast which can dry the clay and you wont get much time to work.

You can use salt as a preservative....oil will keep the clay moist

How long does the sculpture last? As it will be kept in open?
This is not waterproof so keep it away from water....the projects last for years if taken good care

Thanks a lot for the explanation sissy. I too tried making paper clay and was not successful to that extent in the first attempt but managed to do a wall hanging with that and the second time , it came out well really and i could make a ganesha statue with that. But i could observe some small cracks in it when i was kneading and moulding itself. May i know where I go wrong , sissy?
You need to make very fine paste as possible, knead well, there should not be lumps .. you can add more flour to it so that it will come together well.
