After seeing them perform live, Matt sounds like how I imagine Tom's voice should've transformed after their Self-Titled album. I don't know what all happened. lol I'm really happy Matt is in the band and he's giving his 110%
Yeah, I haven't seen them live, but I agree about Matt. I just think this album sounds too poppy. Like yeah, it is a pop-punk band, but this sounds too much like All Time Low or 5SOS (no wonder, since John Feldmann produced both of the bands lately too :D). So I personally hope they'll change the producer for next recording and Matt shows us more of the "old-blink" potential that I see in him.
I'm also kind of sad about all drama and Tom leaving, but you gotta admit, Matt is a pretty good replacement. Well, at least in my opinion.

I think it's the other way around.Simply having power chords gets boring quickly, but riffs tend to be more catchy and memorable. The main exceptions I've seen to this is are Green Day. A good portion of their songs are straight power chords yet they're still so damn memorable and fun to play on guitar. As for OP, I think Dude Ranch's description fits Self-Titled better. Tom really got into using octaves there, especially after his short stint with BCR. I also lol'd at Neighborhood's description. I think that album gets too much hate personally lol
