To me... the best country singer from that era... and he writes ALL of his own music... he's still awesome today...
He CO-WRITES ALL of his music .. Hayden Nicholas never gets his due credit as "Da Man" behind the scenes with Black .. whose career stalled dramatically when he let Nicholas go in the early 90's .. after a brief hiatus .. he came to his senses and got Nicholas back .. before the rest of the world discovered what those close to Black already knew .. 😉 🇺🇸👀😉 👁️🎸✋.. Nicholas is not only a musical genius .. but has also authored 3-4 novels as well .. including another one due out any time now .. Hayden Nicholas is truly a well kept "background" secret .. from a talent standpoint! Just sayin' ....

Agreed. Hayden is a brilliant talent. I started listening to Clint when I was 7-8 years old back in the early 90's, and only learned of Hayden's influence and impact on Clint's music recently. They are a heck of a team.
Hayden Nicholas is to Clint Black as Dean Dillon is to George Strait.
Breaks my heart to see people age but Clint Black still sounds just like he did 25 years ago.

Man, I know George Strait has 60 #1 hits now, and I love him, but Clint is my favorite country singer of all time.
Yeah I'm afraid the bank still owns it even after 30 years. They know the value of a old beat out pickup truck a redneck road around in for years on the weekends with his redneck buddies getting drunk and getting into fights. So, legend has it he had the mortgage the truck to pay for the remaster😂

I always felt the top artist for me in the 90's that felt like they defined what I liked about country was George Strait, Garth Brooks, Clint Black, Tracy Byrd, Alan Jackson, Tracy Lawrence, Mark Chestnut and Joe Diffy. They are all still around they should do a tour all together!
