I’m not afraid to say this but Carlos has serious GOAT potential. He has the talent of Roger, fight like nadal, and wall like defense of Djokovic. I hope this man has a long and healthy career
Carlos is Carlos, period
The kid is special. Its fabulous to watch him playing like this. A new era begins. The aAlcaraz era.
This is premature ej@culat1on. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
He will rack up tons of big titles

Glad you enjoy it!
Awesome tennis channel.
Pretty sure it's going to be his era. Has a much more complete game than other title challenges. Power, touch, movement, variety and intelligent. We thought Fed would rule, unopposed until RN and NJ arrived. We'll see if something similar happens in the next few years. He really does have the combination of the big 3. His also a great guy and a bit of a character. The future of tennis is in good hands. 👍
I think that Sinner might be up there with Carlos

I was looking forward that video ! Amazing job ! Alcaraz is the next big legend of this sport without a doubt ! Hoping injury wont get in his way if not he will be tough to stop
I don’t get it with some people. They complain about there being no competition for Nole but when it happens, there’s a whole slew of excuses for the guy. “He could’ve/should’ve played like this” and “oh if only….”. But none of those happened. People need to learn when their faves are outplayed.
I agree but a tthe same time for every person/fan giving excuses there are at least 5 of those overhyping Alcaraz and making obscene projections 15 years into the future for no reason whatsoever, already writing off Novak saying he won't win ever again bla bla bla
In fact I've spotted more of those comments than anything else in comment sections like this one

@@dj_m19 exactly 👌 people are hilarious ..I think its because they hate Novak so much for Being dominant for so long and for beating their 2 idols to become the GOAT that now they will just jump over to any New vagon that comes down the road as long as he comes even close to beating Novak 😂😂 in this case its Alcaraz
Let's just be honest...
Alkaraz is a great player. He will be one of the best, maybe the best, but Novak was not at his best. He was serving very bad and if he didn't made mistake in the tie break, he would have won.
Carlos has all the shots, doesn't give in and keeps his cool. Hopefully he will continue to keep these good qualities and his career lasts a long time. Injuries may all the difference too so Carlos needs to keep fit and look after himself.
I agree, though I don't think his injuries can be attributed to fitness. He just seems a bit injury prone at the moment. It's too early to tell if this will be a longterm issue, but it does demonstrate how so much has to go right for the greats. You can have all the talent in the world, but if you're susceptible to injuries then your talent will only take you so far. I'm hoping this is not the case for Alcaraz though.
@@deedledave9826 True, but Alcaraz is aware of this and he's taking the right measures. He said himself he wants to focus on his body for the US open title defense.
@@aaravdixit3091 Yes, I think he's aware of it as well and will do everything to preserve his body. But genetics factor into it as well, and it's impossible to know if his body will hold up into his thirties. I hope it will though!
👏.. The amazing part is in the next five years Carlos is going to be 25% better
He is very good. To earn that kind of praise from THE goat Novak is a high honor. I would doubt anyone has an era like the big 3 again. Their longevities (Novak’s especially) is unparalleled. He cramping at RG gives me pause.
He fixed that it was only due too nerves not physically play
I think medical and fitness advances will allow more players to enjoy longer primes

As a long tennis fan Alcaraz is special. He could overtake the big 3 if he fulfill his true potential or atleast double digits GS is for sure. Hope injuries doesn't haunt him 🙏🏻✨
Can continue in No 1.
His rate of adaptation on grass is remarkable. The draw put him up against some big servers, which put him good shape.
That 2nd set tiebreak and getting the championship in his very first championship point is a sign of the great mental toughness of this young man. The best is truly yet to come.
Just when you were worried about the future of the sport with the Big 3 Era nearing its end, along comes Carlos Alcaraz.
What a talent!
Never before seen combination of power and finesse

Alcaraz is just what the doctor ordered for the tennis world.

I just think, if other players don't raise their game, or a new super talent doesn't appear, how many GSs will Carlito win? Imagine that Nole and Rafa weren't play tennis-how many Grand Slams would Roger have won? At least 10 more, and probably 13-14
In sport, there is no greater pressure than that of expectation. Congratulations Mr. Alcaraz, for handling it so well. My you be illness and injury free.☮️😊
At first i was disappointed with nole's loss. But then realized it is needed. Nole needs this so that he can play better in the future. He is not a quitter, he'll find something. And for alcaraz, boy what a display of physical, mental, and skill. Never easy to defeat nole in a 5 setter, good job.
As a djokovic fan.... He always comes back with much more energy... But still I am scared for him... Novak deserve to win many more titles as it was a 5 setter match and he still won aus open and French open
I dont think so. Novak reached break point from whith in. He could not stand to fight in enemy enviroment until the end. Sick English journalist, haters of everything non-imperial did their jobs. And, i was soft.

It's amazing how often people underestimate this kid. Early this year (or was it late last year 🤔) ATP released a video where they were asking players who is going to win one or more grand slams this year, and just ONE of the players mentioned Carlitos (it was Ben Shelton). I didn't see a single person on social media predicting that Carlitos would win Wimbledon, even after witnessing how quickly he got comfortable on grass at Queen's. I had a strong feeling that if Carlitos could somehow make it to the final, he would've had plenty of experience on grass, and given the incredible rate at which he learns, I predicted that he'd win Wimbledon regardless of who his opponent turned out to be in the final. And that is exactly what happened. You can never count this kid out. If you're gonna bet against him, do so at your own peril.
If Carlitos can stay healthy and relatively injury-free for the next decade and a half, I predict he'll at least match the Big 3's records in grand slams.
I completely agree. But I think maybe as Carlitos was winning his Wimbledon matches towards finals, his team cleverly increased campaign of persuading him of Novak's invincibility. ;)
Thanks for these kind of videos!.. Nice and interesting summary..
This kid is special. So special that i believe, if he stays injury free and motivated, he could very possibly go down as not only the greatest tennis player of all time...but the greatest ATHLETE of all time

Ok ok calm down greatest ATHLETE of all time 😅😅😅
It was a historic match on so many levels. Throughout the match i feated that Novak's experience and tactics would overwhelm the Spaniard, but i am growing accustomed ro Carlos proving me wrong. I am delightfully pleased 😊
One thing I've noticed over and over again throughout 2023 is that, whenever Carlitos is faced with an obstacle that seems insurmountable, he finds a way through. I am absolutely blown away by this kid's strategic prowess and his resourcefulness. Earlier this year in Buenos Aires Jarry was looking absolutely unstoppable with his huge serves and ultra-aggressive returns and powerful groundstrokes. Given that Carlitos' serve wasn't the best, and given that Jarry's serves looked virtually unreturnable, it didn't seem likely that he would be able to make any inroads in Jarry's service games. He did lose the first set to Jarry, but then, from the second set on, you could see how he was adapting and how much sharper his focus was, eventually bageling Jarry in the third set.
Then, before the Indian Wells final, Medvedev was looking almost invincible with his 19-0 win streak. Most of the weapons Carlitos could, in principle, use to hurt Medvedev (e.g., drop shots, volleys) proved entirely ineffective in Medvedev's encounter with Djokovic earlier in Dubai. Shockingly, Carlitos didn't just Medvedev's streak, he absolutely demolished Medvedev. The way he played that match was, strategically speaking, absolutely flawless. From that day onwards, I promised myself never to bet against this kid. He not only has incredible power, speed, agility, and touch, he is also an absolute genius when it comes to problem-solving in real time.
It’s really a testament to alcarazs supreme returning ability that Djokovic only had two aces. As McEnroe said, it wasn’t that Djokovic wasn’t hitting his spots, he was, alcaraz was just somehow returning them
lol did you see Novak's serve tho? pause for a second here, Novak's serving was so bad this match, anyone could've easily returned that
@@heizeking3557 True but Carlito still returned few very well
Djoko surrendered the momentum in the seconf set tie breaker; and from then on he was struggling uphill.
Its really a wasted opportunity on Noles side but its a start of a legendary career for Carlos Congrats !May this be the 2nd and mor slams to come
The 'controversy' about Carlos's dad filming Novak's practice is ridiculous considering that people watching/filming on those courts is very common. Top players are doing far more scouting than a bit of footage from a practice session could reveal anyway. Novak himself is known for using a team of analysts to dive deep into his opponents patterns and techniques, it's likely a significant part of why he's so good at reading his opponents during matches.
Filming an opponent is bad ethics and manners. It shows the quality of Alcaraz's family.
@@michael8597, don't be ridiculous.

BS. Djokovic defeated himself. He was about to lead by 2 sets and made 2 unforced errors in tte second set where he had already setpoint with 2 easy backhands into the net and gave Alcatraz a chance to get back into the game. Same in 5th set when he had breakall to lead by 2:0 and again caused an unforced error on an easy volley which he would normally not miss. He wasn't strong on the important points this time and gave Alcatraz a chance to win with many unforced errors. He was only playing 70% of his best that day at most.
As the British say "The king is dead, long live the king!"...
...but totally hoping for a Djokovic comeback @ the US Open. He has no pressure and lots of potential points to collect! 🤞
However, Alcaraz is awesome. He's humble, personable and fascinating to watch and listen to. So a great person to take over from Djokovic if there ain't a comeback.
Go Djokovic! 🤞
Currently, win, lose or draw Carlos is the only player out there who ain't scared of Novak.
Rune too. But he’s not consistent.
We have already entered the Carlitos Era... He has not much experience and he has won already 2 slams.. Burt not only that his game is exciting, dynamic and want to keep watching.
This was by no means the unthinkable. Carlos is a complete player like Novak said and he showed he had nerves of steel which we have said about Novak for so many years. Hopefully we get a few more great matches between these two before Novak decides to hang up his racket.
Charlie is now living in Novak's head and we know tennis is a mental game as well as physical.
Baby Nadal is a superstar at age 20! What a thrill it would be for Spain if Rafa & Carlos played Men's Doubles together in The Olympics.
After Djokovic retires there is no one who can challenge alcaraz. I don't think players like rune can match alcaraz. Alcaraz is the next Djokovic. Atleast he will be reach 17 grandslams. We cannot say things like he overtaking every one. But definitely he is going to become a top player after Djokovic retires.
The only certainty in life and sports is uncertainty.Don't count the chickens before they are hatched. It will come to bite you.
Yh no one will be better than the Spaniard only Djokovic
The question is who is challenging carlos when Djokovic goes/
Runne, Sinner and possibly the likes of Tiafoe might be the challengers. After Wimbledon tennis will never be the same again.

Good job on pronuciating his name correcty, just one thing, the accent (stressed syllable) is in the second "a", so it's Alcaráz, not Álcaraz. Cheers.

Alcaraz, like Federer, when Roger won his titles from 2003 to 2008, benefited from great timing. Nadal, and Djokovic weren’t all court players until 08, maybe even 2010. Alcaraz has a chance, with an aging Novak, and Rafa, to do what Roger did, and is to take advantage of timing. In a couple of years, or even three years, Alcaraz will be 23 or 24, Novak and Rafa won’t be on the tour. Tell me, who stops Alcaraz? I say he will win more majors, but there will be no strength of competition. From 2009 to 2020, there was fierce competition from three to four players. Carlos is talented, but his numbers of majors will be inflated due to timing. Let’s hope he takes advantage of it.
You don’t know what could happen in the future
It was never unthinkable since he had beaten Djokovic before and won Queens.
Carlos defeated a 16 years older GOAT, in the 5th set, by just a few points. That's how hard it is to beat Novak on Grand Slams.
On grass to be precise
@@efitejoe9475 On all surfaces, considering Novak just on a Grand slam on Clay and Hard Courts.
Carlos is special, but let dont count rune out to soon. i still firmly believe that the next 15 years is gonna be a alcaraz-rune era, with both off them getting double digits GS.
There really is no need to over-analyze this. Sometimes players are just THAT good. Shout out to the mindless sheep who jumped on the "he cramped up out of fear against Novak in the French Open. Fact is THAT match quite possiibly would have played out like Wimbledon had he not began to cramp.

You are in the Carlos Alcaraz era, we're not about to enter it. He's won two majors, multiple masters 1000 and has been the best player in the last two years. He doesn't need to prove anything else. Novak is clearly a legend and G.O.A.T. Both are awesome. How about everyone relax and enjoy the show? No more comparing and pitting one against the other.
I just want to know if Djoko had a #24 jacket in his bag

He did not go through fire! 1st set was the same score as 3rd set ? Toilet break gave the goat the 4th set?? But the 5the set was fabulous!!
Novak is NOT the GoAT, that is Federer.
Why? Because Federer changed the game and Novak and Nadal followed his example. He invented the new mode not them.
Next, Federer faced SIGNIFICANTLY greater competition than Novak did.
Fed had to contend with much greater talent on the tour before Rafa and Novak (5 and 6 years younger) came on, but then he confronted two all time greats, arguably the #3 and #2 (respectively) greatest of all time.
Novak for most of his career faced a MUCH older Federer who it took him YEARS to vanquish and a slightly diminished Rafa. The rest of the field was FAR weaker than the one Federer dominated before 2008 (when Nadal started breaking through on non-clay courts and Novak started to come into his own).
Many are ignorant of that time because they are kids, but 2003-08 had some great players: Agassi and Sampras, though old, were still playing; Roddick, Hewitt, Safin (perhaps the second biggest under achiever in men's tennis history next to Agassi), Del Po, Ferrero, Moya, Ferrer, Moya, Nalbandian, Coria, Goran, Davydenko, Ljubicic, and many more some I forgot.
Many of these players were in their prime when Roger arrived to crush them.
By contrast, Novak has been able to beat the young contenders as they arrive, he begins with an advantage, and the kids have not been able to overcome it for a decade, which indicates a remarkable weakness in men's tennis. Alcaraz might just about to be going on a run that crushes all Novak's and Roger's records.
As for Rafa as the GoAT, nope. Why not? If not for clay, the most idiosyncratic surface, he wouldn't be in the conversation. He dominated one surface, was very competitive on other surfaces for a few years, had a brief resurgence and is probably going to be retiring soon. His knees and legs in general, are going to give out on him. The sad thing is he's probably going to have issues in older age, lets hope not.
But Joker has won more Grand Slams and more career money and more weeks at number 1 and finish more years as number 1 and has beaten Federer more times and beaten Nadal more times. Really the only number Federer has more is trophies and more matches.
how is it unthinkable,
fed and nadal beat him multiple times.

The first time I’ve sensed fear in Novak’s eyes…
Djokovic was employing a well known psychological tactic known to sports psychologists.
If you noticed the first two sets, whenever novak is a point up he would serve immediately, whenever the opponent is a point up he would bounce the ball take his own sweet time go past 30 seconds. This is to break the momentum of the opponent. He did this for two sets, I cannot believe Carlos didn’t care, the umpire should have given him a time violation the very first game of the first set. He got caught finally and was given a time violation only in the third set.
This is not just coincidence this is a well tested and proven to work tactic. This gives novak an unfair advantage.
Disgusting cheating
Behaviour. Now I see why people hate him.
Nadal also does the same thing wasting time,so that's fine for u .
@@arunsekhar9288 it’s about fairness doesn’t matter who does it, we should all root for fairness and equality in sports, it’s the reason time violation exist, umpires need to enforce it every point irrespective of whether it’s a rookie or a 20 time gs champion, every point is pivotal.
Novak said he was beaten by a "child" What is going to happen when Carlitos grows up??????
Ahahahhahahah judging by the comments ,the hate for Djoker is real .... Poor People waited so long ( 15 years long ) for someone to show up and be capable of beating Novak... since the 2 Fedals failed and Got left behind him in the GOAT race 🤣🤣🤣🤣 now all their fans forgot about them and just jumped over to the first vagon that came even close to beating Novak 😂 🤣😂 lol

Oh please, let his nemesis come along !
His name will be taken along with the big three if he keeps going like this. May even take over their status. But he needs to maintain his current mindset.
Which goat?
He beat the best at the top of their game, and the level of tennis is so much higher than when Becker won. He is the Tiger Woods of tennis.
