i own a Blofeld and love him for his „gnarshy“ wavetable sound. But man, this sounds huge an real analog for me! really fine job!

The Sounds are really great, but I always wonder, why someone would buy a digital wavetable synth only to emulate analog gear.
The wavetables and the huge modulation routing are the most interesting features on the Blofeld, I guess.
But hey, don't get me wrong... These are all fantastic sounds!

Yes, I'm with you there. It's a digital synth, it excels at a 'digital' sound. Let's get some 0's and 1's going on!! Analog has it's place, but that's not here.

How much do you think would it cost to purchase & maintain a CS80, a Prophet-5, and a Jupiter-8?
Answer: My estimate, based on ads I have seen on Reverb.com & eBay, is that just those three iconic synths would total up to somewhere between 60 000.00 USD and 70 00.00 USD to purchase the three of them & maintain all three for one year. Of course, in addition to the CS-80, P-5 & JP-8, there are many other synths that the Waldorf Blofeld can emulate very well...for about $400 to $500 USD. ☺
BTW, check out Don Solaris' excellent soundset for the Waldorf Blofeld here on YT. He is a superb sound designer, and his emulations of sounds from the famous Roland Juno 60 are very difficult to differentiate from a real Juno 60 (which goes for 3 000.00 to 4 000.00 USD these days). During the final 10 minutes of his YT vid, he auditions a few Juno 60 emulations & compares them directly to an actual Juno 60 synthesizer (I will encourage you to listen to the entire video with the resolution set to 720P or 1080i. Ideally you have high quality headphones/earbuds & a quiet location to listen to the sounds LFO created & shared in this video, plus the ones Don created in his YT vid.)
VA can be surprisingly accurate & most certainly financially more reasonable. 😎

The difference between analog and digital is vanishingly small these days, and the sonic palette of modern synths is increasingly huge. The most distinguishing features now are less about what sounds they can make, since a lot of synths can make pretty much all sounds ever conceived. Instead, it's more about the interface and the ease of use and the price.
Blofeld has a pretty good price, and its engine is decent even if not great. Its main drawback is the interface. Designing patches on it can be a pain. So it's a good platform for selling presets.
Also, it's not good at dirty bass sounds, so it works best when paired with something genuinely rude like a Microbrute or a MS-20. It can generally cover all the other instruments in a song though, even simultaneously. So it's a good option for someone wanting a lot of sound in a little box.

Thanks for the video! How different these more classic analog sounds feel from a (good) analog synth, in your opinion?
Also, compared to a very good vst, do you think this would still be a better choice?
    Thanks !
