Do you need SL license to install soundset?
Blofeld is so underrated.....got a bad rep from people bitching about a few glitches when it first came out. Indeed there are a couple of things which are odd and Waldorf never worked out, but for the price??? Its pound for pound, the best sounding hardware synthesizer currently made.
Also, the key bed on the keyboard version is outstanding. I would highly encourage new people, to get the keyboard version as its light years better than most MIDI keyboards.
I was going for it, but got an Ultranova instead. Cheaper, has vocoder, and for what I do is plenty and enough. I feel I wouldn't use a third of Blofeld's capacity... I do miss the multitimbral option though.
for me the most annoying thing, is the arpeggio skipping off beats, when playing split, with a bass on the left using arpeggio on that, and a lead on the right...i do not have such problems with the supernova 2 keyboard, witch is way older tech wise, okay it was quite a lot more expensive, but so many years on one would expect that they have such a thing covered properly by now...but sound diversity its a great cheap capable synth, the blofeld.
@@jumpingman8160 i am also thinking about getting either the ultranova or the blofeld, i think i am going to go with the ultranova, also because you can use it as a soundcard which is in fact pretty nice.
@@Bartimaeeus the Ultra is a pretty good machine. Not as indepth as the blofeld in some regards (the blo has more wavescanning than the ultra, multitimbral, sample import...), but if you completly ignore the patches it comes with you get a fantastic machine. I just ordered a DeepMind12 two days ago to complement it.
Wish the would've added a few more knobs to it. I easily would've paid another $500 for 8-10 more knobs. Don't tell me it would've cost them more than that to have them added.

These are the best Blofeld patches I've heard. Atmo is beautiful.

Nick's presets I just installed them and they are some of the best. Highly recommend. I sold my white Blofeld and regretted it. Now I own the black version and really enjoy it. I won't ever sell mine again.
I sold mine and regretted it everyday. Recently bought another as well and like you, I won’t ever sell it again.
Great patches! Preset at 12:10 is insane, I guess I gotta add this synth to my collection, thanks for the great demo!!
This is a marvellous synth at a very decent price. I have one. And if keyboard action is important to you, which it is to me, this synth uses the fantastic Fatar TP9/S keybed as used on the Mini Moog Voyager and Dave Smith sequential synths. Its a phenomenal instrument.

Blofeld is amazing, especially considering the price! Not difficult to program either. My problem lately is that there are so many great presets that I get lazy about building patches from scratch. I'm assigning myself little projects to get deeper into the Blofeld capabilities and will be watching more of the many great tutorial vids available on youtube.
I'm exactly in the same situation! Those presets are awesome and we have to force us to go init patch or reverse engineering :)

Kim Diez Yes. The only difference is you have to pay $100 for the SL License to upload custom wavetables. It can do everything the BloKeys can though.
I have nothing more to add. Bottomless sound design modulation engine.

You only need the SL license if you plan on uploading custom wavetables or samples that you’ve made yourself.
I own a desktop version. Will these work the same? No mod wheel on my midi keyboard unfortunately
absolutely the same.
if you want mod wheel - you can record midi message in sequencer - its not a problem.

Можно ли как-то выгрузить все банки на компьютер, чтобы удобно поменять местами пресеты и потом загрузить всё обратно? Например, чтобы А107 стал D107, а D107 - A107

Включаешь пытливость - набираешь в поисковике Blofeld Editor - скачиваешь эдитор,ставишь под секвенсор и в эдиторе пересохраняешь как хочешь
80$ за реконовский это лихо - его видел, думал может есть бюджетный вариант именно управления пресетами. Но все равно спасибо за ответ!

:) видел, но у меня мак. Впрочем, я и на мак нашел бесплатный, только пока он у меня не заводится) Просто я думал, вдруг именно какой-то продвинуты librarian есть (или может даже универсальный) и собственно о нем спрашивал :)
Такая же фигня с органайзером под мак, бесплатных не нашел, попробую еще мож вайботлером ехешник запустить..)

Why do we invest in so many synths when, with talent like this, we could get what we need out of one. I guess because of lack of talent where talent is evidenced here in bucket loads!!!!

Many people now are more collectors than musicians or sounddesigners - they even don't go deep with their
machines - playing factory presets & feeling that they are proud owners :-D
My suggestion: fuck the collecotrs :-D
Kevin Roberts one decent synth is all it takes, you're being driven by the BS that you need more to make more. Something like the Blo could entertain you for the rest of your life. You choose.

Fantasy product -- I think it depends on the goals of what the person is doing. I have 4 synths and am thinking about a blofeld for its multitimbral capability. I am a guitarist that is currently producing my own music comprised of synths and guitar. Each synth has its own character. For example, I use a Sub37 as my main synth. I like turning knobs and creating my own patches either from a preset or from scratch. Next is a 0-coast....it sounds so different and again adds flair and counterpoint to what my main synth is doing... the Moog Minitaur is all about that bass. I have it running through a MXR bass d.i. Box and I always create a bass patch per tune from scratch...but I only use if for that tune generally..... For drums I use a DR-880 and DFAM. All is sequenced through a Squarp Pyramid. And finally I record directly into my Tascam DP32 then dump the tracks into Reason. I only use a DAW to do final mixing. So for me adding a blofeld adds something that my other synths do have and the Squarp Pyramid can get more out of it. So my final synth tally would be 5 synths (with little overlap)...but I might add a drum brute (6) for rhythmic variation.
I can not use sequences for my music, I need a sound set collection.
Every patch here represents a new sound that you can play in a personal and expressive mannerm, so it is a Soundset. The sequences & arps can be ignored if you wish.

He’s talented, but most of his patches sound like hell.
meedily in your opinion, sure. He definitely errs on the more avant-garde side of things, but sounds good nonetheless. Most of his patches sound that way to show how far you can push a synth vs the standard bread and butter sounds in a lot of demos.

It's Wavetable synth.
