So wait. you're telling me that that interchange doesn't have the standard set of 4 on/offramps so traffic has to go through town? surely going off/on would be the best option as it's merely the overpass which is damaged and seemingly only on one side. you literally could open up the right-hand side of the highway to two-way traffic until that section needed to be removed.
Also, it's the "Tappan Zee Bridge", lady.
They all speed on the highways even the trucks everyone's in a rush good
So the tanker truck swerved to avoid the collision between the car and the tractor trailer truck but there's no explanation as to what ripped the back of the tanker truck off.
There is an accident on I-5 in Sacramento this morning that has blocked a major highway and it trailer is split in half as well.
Maybe a vehicle behind it or it hit a stationary object?

@@413smr I've seen a tanker ignite in a rollover accident, but something had to have hit it from behind in this case. With all the traffic cams on this highway, there's no footage of the crash?

I'm not a highway engineer, but putting utilities that thousands depend on in an overpass smacks of expediency , not good design......
And possible lack of $$$ due to politician politically motivated cuts.
Burning 9,000 gallons of gas and wasting more gas sitting in traffic. Maybe get a Tesla next.
If a Tesla caught fire underneath that overpass, we'd be in the exact same situation.
@@giantsfan185 Auto sleeping Tesla driver is scary. The new batteries have Titanium plates just in case. Any heavy tank that can go 0 to 60 in less than 4 seconds is ludicrous. I've seen gas cars on fire too. Battery fire is hotter than a car but a 9,000 gallon tanker is another level of hell.
