In my opinion, Markey has the most elegant and beautiful sound on the trombone of ANY of the world's virtuosi today, that includes New York to Stockholm ! He achieves a dark centered tone regardless of the dynamics or register. His technical ability is likewise superb. Anyone disagree ?

Paul Masgalajian perhaps you’ve not heard of Barnabus Jones.

Paul Masgalajian I wouldn’t say ‘the most’, I’d say ‘one of the most’. There is some cultural bias going on here - one of the most consistently beautiful and centred sounds has to go to Ian Bousfield- he hasn’t wavered for over 30 years. That said, Markey is incredible both as a player and a teacher.
