Watching a program on fast fashion. The Political economist said, "When somebody asks me, what should I buy, I say "Nothing! Nothing! you have way too much already". When shopping this advice helps me stay minimal.
Shop your own closet. Put different shirts with bottoms that you don't usually put them with. As an American, I know I have way too much. Trying to buy only the needed.
When I first came across the concept of "capsule wardrobe", I thought it was such a hard concept - "easier said than done!" 🙄 But have also reached a point of wanting to declutter towards minimalism. From having distinct items for various occasions - work, events, casual, home-wear, religious, cultural - I've been decluttering my wardrobe to have so much less, with several items that are versatile for several types of occasions. Truly refreshing! (Far from done yet though 😉)
Wow i just did lot´s of these tips, thank you shannon i really needed this! I have now decluttered and gotten rid of 97% of our stuff, knicknacks, random things that we no longer use and let me tell you it feels soooooo much better now and our home looks soooo much tidier there´s more space more peace more like ahhhh room tho breathe etc ... But it was not easy i have been minimizing since 2018 and wow now that i think of how much stuff we really had it just makes my jaw drop. Minimalism is awesome .... i love my life now! Have an awesome day
With autumn rain preventing laundry today (S.Africa), I'm glad I came across your videos for some much needed inspiration and motivation to continue my decluttering journey this weekend smile 😊
☑️ I already am on the items to declutter. While my son finishes up his schooling online I am busying myself by decluttering. A clean slate for summer is the goal!
Thanks Shannon. This is a great list. I especially like that you suggest we take a day off, to relax and recharge. It’s important but we seldom do that. Thanks so much.
What a great challenge. Helping us open our eyes to all the various parts of our lives that get cluttered. I love dropping off my latest bags to the thrift store!
I'm to the point that I can't remove any more items, especially furniture. I'd like to have less and for our home to look more roomy but everything is needed and serves a purpose, in some cases even multiple purposes. I live in a small 1300 sq' home, so the living room is pretty small...the furniture would certainly look much more spacious in an average sized room. So I'm kind of stuck and disappointed about it. I wonder if it's possible to become addicted to decluttering. I know I certainly enjoy it.
Thank you Shannon great idea and since watching your videos I have been through the process and next I will start digital declutter after my kids finish school no more online study for while and plan for walking at beach morning ,swimming activities , continue put paper well in my living i hired some first but decide this time we will do it
Thanks for a solid challenge format. It is easy to follow and I'm gonna try to follow it. Although some days I might skip and then do 2 items the next day.
Wow! This is awesome 👏 thank you. I will definitely be following along. I have been so happy I’ve started to be more minimal. I finally feel like I am in balance...most days 😜 with 4 kids things can change in a nanosecond hehe but for the most part I think we’ve gotten it under control and I can finally be the mom I want to be and to fill my tank too...
Yes with kids it is so much harder, that is great that you are feeling under control. I feel that is the whole point of living with less. Just making life simple and fun.

Hi Ann! It is so true that we rarely take time for ourselves. For me that is a big part of what minimalism is all about.
What a great challenge. Helping us open our eyes to all the various parts of our lives that get cluttered. I love dropping off my latest bags to the thrift store!

I also have a harder time finding things to declutter at this point too. I think when we hit this point we have to help other people declutter LOL
I love this 14 days challenge and going to do it nect month. Thank you!

Shannon, thanks. Needed a new motivation that wasn't 30 days long 💙💜
