Dan bringing up GameFAQs from back in the day brought up old memories. Younger gamers are lucky not to have had to read through those things and have to figure out where in the guide they were at. Some descriptions of level layouts were really freaking weird, and I remember retracing my steps so many times to figure out what the guide meant when it told me to go to x past the corner y that's just below z, but before you see the xyz. Fond memories though all the same.
I always collected tons of Starbits when I played and would give them to bank toad. He would get so many accessories like a pick axe and a head lamp, my favorite was the shield and spear. So watching RT struggle with Starbits while I was rolling in them is so funny to me.
even though he gave a warning, it wasn't enough. the toad voice resulted in everyone I know suffering Immensely and to be put in the hospital. I just hope everyone else got through this better than I did.
I wouldn't mind there being a peach mini game in this game, where you have to bake Bowser his big cake. It seems fun, gathering so much baking supplies and searching a big kitchen for large enough baking utensils. Maybe replacing a ball level with peach having to roll eggs all the way to this big mixing bowl she has prepared.
Gotta say it's a real odd pacing issue when the last levels played could have easily been the old bosses rather than the somewhat uninspiring last wall-jumpy one. It's a perplexing choice to end so limply when they had a perfectly good last level as second to last level.

Broadly, Galaxy 2 improves on the original in a lot of areas, but I'll always stand by my opinion that the different world structure and what feels like a very quantity over quality philosophy with the galaxies was a step down from Galaxy 1... and then they just completely shit the bed with the green stars. In the grand scheme of things, they're fairly small things, but I always felt they made the game slightly inferior to the original. Given how phenomenal Super Mario Galaxy is, though, that's still really damn good.
Yea, I feel like the Super Mario 3 style world map is a step backwards for the 3D games when compared to the flavorful hubs, and I personally like using the same world for 5 different stars rather than just the 2-3 of this one. Makes each stage have an identity because you spend so much more time in each. I'm glad that Odyssey really leaned into that aspect of Mario 64 and Galaxy.
I think the ice skating strategy to get 600 points is to skate outside the 9 squares as soon as you finish each round of gumbites, preventing you from having a spiked one spawn under you. That's how I'd do it at least but I'm sure there's way more efficient ways to do it lmao

I woulda liked him to get at least one green star I never knew they existed when I played so seeing what they were would actually have interested me Sadly the wii fully broke now and used to be only in black and white. Galaxy 2 is my 2nd fav mario game 2nd because I love yoshi and nothing can be sunshine
@CryoChick Hey! If your wii is in black and white, buying one of those 5 coloured-wires that connect it to the tv, instead of a 3 coloured wire usually fixes this!
