- Keke isite has always been a Polynesian favourite. I had some ripe bananas and thought I would make some keke isite siaine, whether you want to have it plain or add some bananas is totally your choice. Give this a try and I promise you, you'll enjoy each bite. I sure enjoyed my Keke isite siaine with a cup of tea, some even have it with ice cream, so indulge and enjoy.
Ingredients
2 cup warm water
2 tablespoon sugar
1 1/2 teaspoon yeast
1/4 cup sugar
3 ripe bananas
3 cup flour
4-5 cups canola oil (frying)
Note:
1. If dough is too thick add a bit of water and if dough is too runny add more flour
2. You can test if the oil is ready by putting a wooden spoon in the pot, once you see bubbles you can fry

Made these today, and I plan on making them again :)
But I was having issues keeping them in the right shape. They kept spreading out into a pancake, and I'm not sure why
Try adding more flour to get a thick mixture,. Let me know how it goes
Can i use vegetable oil?
yes
@@TasteoftheSouthpacific thank you. What advice would u give to create a decent shape to this keke like u did because my one came out weird looking..though it taste & came out fluffy the exterior needs more work😅
@@gurlm90 Hi, we want the dough to be a thick texture, so I would suggest just adding a bit more flour. Also make sure your oil is hot enough when frying. Let me know how it goes 😀
@@TasteoftheSouthpacific that seems to be the case with mine. i think my dough wasnt thick enough & my oll wasnt as hot as it needed to be, thank you soo much will keep this to mind on the next batch👍🏽😊
