  • Here's my much anticipated Perdura Deck Boss Demo and Review. Honestly, I've wanted a Deck Boss since I first saw them in other people's videos and online posts because I could tell that it works really well.
    The Deck Boss is a huge 7" x 2" wide brush with 3" long bristles. It attaches to an extension pole so you can stand up while coating a deck, and you can use it on vertical surfaces like siding and fences as well.
    The Deck Boss works with oil based and waterborne products, like translucent stains all the way to solid body stains.
    Perdura is a company focused on quality products and results, and it shows with this tool.
    I'd say you can't go wrong with this tool, and it's worth it's cost, even for an employee (like me) of a paint contractor...
    Perdura Brushes has been testing their bristle's durability for quite some time, with very minimal bristle loss and I have had outstanding results as well.
    You can purchase these on Amazon, by seller: Smart Deck
    Also for further info you can check out PerduraBrush.com
    Don't forget to like and share this video, and comment if you have feedback, questions, or just want to say how much you love this brush or would love one.
    Thank You for Watching!!!!!!!! Thank you for your support and encouragement.

    excellent video and product, it looks like. does the brush spatter the stain? thanks

    • @XCPainter

      I would say yes it can splatter if you're not using it with finesse,but it's possible to work neatly with it. That is true with most brushes I think.

    I have probably viewed 60+ painting videos the past 10 days. Yours are best! Thank you for sharing your knowledge. I just took delivery of my primed MDF package, for my new house. I live about 3 miles from the Ben Moore store on Viking Way, Kitsap County I would love to have you quote to paint out the trim and doors in my new house. Please contact me, if you can't contact me via you tube I can leave my contact info at the Ben Moore store on Viking Way. Viewing your MDF prep video gave me some hints on how to install the MDF, thanks!

    I find it Very Hard to believe, it stains in between the deck boards!
    Also, I'm Curious of how All The Drippage Looks Like Under The Deck!
    If it's just Sod, Great! But If It's anything else... YIEKS!!

    • @XCPainter
      @XCPainter  15 дней назад

      It does coat the sides of boards if they have standard gaps and if you use good brushing technique. Underside of the deck... any product or application can drip if you're coating the gaps and putting enough stain on to saturate and move around.
      If there's important items under the deck, I can cover them or the covrr the ground.

      @@theschreckster4300for one, did you notice I had JUST gotten started, and I was using a pole one with only one hand while I recorded with camera phone in my other hand?
      You didn't see any missed spots anyways and I'll gaurantee then got coated
      I've used these Deck Bosses for years now and they work like a champ.

    How many gallons did that deck take?

    • @XCPainter
      @XCPainter  4 года назад

      This is over 600 sq feet of deck, took about 4 gallons per coat since it's solid body stain.

      XC Painter that’s cool. I hear ya on solid body stain it goes a lot further than the semi transparent. I do my deck jobs with Arborcoat....good video.

      XC Painter one more question because I’m probably going to get one of these....how does the brush clean up? Does it clean up like new?

    • @XCPainter
      @XCPainter  4 года назад

      @@cwrowe the brush holds a lot of product so it takes some flushing, but it does clean really well, and it's real durable. I use Pretty Boy (waterborne) brush cleaner on my stuff. I still have the brush used in this video after tons of uses, including oil pigment stain and a whole lot waterborne Polyurethane brushing. I have a few of these brushes if you're interested in getting one from me, and some xcpainter stickers (are you in the U.S.?)

    Why do all the deck staining pads now, except for the poorly designed Cabot unit, all come in 7" widths when most decking boards are 5.5 to 6 inches. It's almost like the suits in the board room who have never stained a deck in their lives decided they'd prefer to make our job more difficult, by leaving a 1" overlap on the next board. I started my business doing deck cleaning and staining in 1997, and once Shur Line decide to go to 7" every other manufacturer followed along. This brush looks alright but Im a pad guy. I don't like drips running down the sides of the boards. With the old 6" pads with the beveled tip I can run over the top, then along the edge a little and leave a perfect line with few, if any, drips. I have called Shur line and Padco and it's like talking to a brick wall. Ugh. I guess I have to give this brush a try but it does not look like the level of control and precision I can do with a pad. Thanks for letting me vent! Lol

    • @XCPainter
      @XCPainter  Год назад +1

      Bigger just covers more decking faster, holds more product and allows overlapping while brushing.
      The Perdura company also manufacturers the 4" and 5" stain brushes too, and they're really great actually.
      The 4" is called the Multi Stain and the 5" is the Rapid Stain.
      I use them all for their appropriate situations.
      Pads work for a penetrating stain or traditional oil stain since they have so much less solids and don't require any millage to be applied..

      That's a very simple way of looking at the matter, but Yes, it's true that some of us decide to do good for others with no expectation of compensation.
      In my case I am a Perdura Brand Ambassador (unpaid), because I like their products and they have helped support me as well.
