I will get one of these brushes, thanks! Since the deck I work on is very large, is there a less back breaking way to then wipe to access oil than wiping with a rag on my knees in small sections?

Lambs wool is one option. Another is any soft bristle brush. Even like a car scrub brush you can put on a pole. It will save the knees!

Are the bristles exactly the same as far as stiffness and everything?

Works great, soft bristles allow it to work well between planks.
