    My Dad always said, "a coat of paint makes everything look better." As always, he was so right! Your deck looks amazing. It didn't take much time to make a difference. Thanks for sharing this with us.

    Love the roll and tip method, you and Jennifer did a great job. If you apply a second coat I hope you show the results at some point. Nice job Chad. 👍😎

    I agree, This is exactly my application of the same stain in Cedar tone. Roll on and brush it in. I had a ton of spindles on my railings. So, I used a short roller on them then brushed in the stain. The semi transparent Behr Premium tends to be more paint like on thick coats. It recommends two thin coats. Nice Job ...

      Thanks! We're happy we used the roll on/brush in method. It is holding up nicely.

      Thank you! If I were doing it again, I might go a little more brown, or a little more dark. But it turned out nice. Thanks for watching!

    Great team work. I neglected a wooden porch which deteriorated over several years. I'm thinking of replacing the wooden porch with synthetic, I think (hahaha). I'm very selective where and when I exert my energies now that I'm older and get tired easier.

      Hi Houndsman! We have the synthetic boards on one side of our porch. The great part is that they never need any maintenance. The did fade a little over time, but not bad. The worst part about them is the winter - they are like a sheet of ice with any snow on them. But that decking is about 15 years old - and I don’t think it is even made any more. I think the new Trex decking is much better quality.

    I was not liking the initial look of the stain. It looked like a salmon color, but as Jenifer brushed it into the wood and it dried, WOW it really is looking like redwood. Nice choice, I see why you all like the color. Very nice work - keep up the good work - cheers

      I totally agree. When we first tried this stain and we were putting it down on the covered porch at home, I was REALLY worried that it was going to look horrible. But after it soaks in and dries darker, it's a color I like. I'd still prefer something a little darker/more brown, but this color matches the "plastic decking" we already had on our side porch.

      You got that right! If there's painting to do, I'm usually the one to do the edging in *using one of those edging tools*. Jennifer does a nice job on interior painting. She also repaints all our exterior doors every summer.

    Brush vs. Roller. Why roller?

    • @PurpleCollarLife
      @PurpleCollarLife  3 месяца назад

      We like the roller because it's faster, covers without the brush marks, and keeps you from having to be sitting on the deck/bending over while working.
