Rumyana Zarkova actually painted Kaladin the way I mostly see him. He's still raw and torn, I fear the potential in his character to self-destruct. I wouldn't like to see him remain the eternal victim, there's such fragility in him that I can't help but wonder what he'll become... edit: to answer your questions, I don't see how Kal could have taken any other way than the one he did, apart from the Honor Chasm or the Blackbane leaves. I've not seen Rhythm of War at a nice price yet, so I read it in bits and pieces, no complete read-throughs 3-5 times before offering opinions. But I'm very sure in what I said re. the way he took. What I like about him? He's no hero. He's closer to the concept of Dark Knight/Antihero, which is usually my preferred kind of character.

I couldn’t have broke down Kaladin’s character any better myself, and I have yet to see any of the other booktubers I follow match this one either.
Wow thank you so much for the encouraging words!

I have some of my own theories on what may happen to Kaladin but I agree I hope he doesn't remain an eternal victim
