- The Interview with Alexander Men was modified, even though I had a english dub over it, I did hire a russian voice actor to replace Alexander Men's speech with the actual context. Please support me if you enjoy it.
Disclaimer:
This is not a real video, it is made by AI. It is set in an alternative universe, called "The New Order", or TNO. TNO is a mod for the game Hearts of Iron IV, it intends to explore an alternate reality where Germany and Japan won WW2. I do not agree or support any of messages in the video that one may find offensive, it is purely for entertainment purposes.
The russian voiceover genuinely got me emotional, he talks just like you would expect a humble priest to talk. Very well done.
Audio mastering on Russian voice sounds excellent too, it's j sounds ust like Soviet TV and film used to sound, just like all those reruns

As one of the people who designed Men’s story for TNO, I greatly appreciate this. Funnily enough, the unique biblical writing style in many of his events was a result of misunderstood instructions in the writing team. Basically the initial intent was for Men himself to not be front and center in the events, but rather the community of peasants that fanatically "follow" him but really drag him along largely out of his control once his realm grows too large for everyone to have personally met him. The "idea" of The Father would be separate from the "man" Alexander Men. In the latter type of events, stories were supposed to be evocative of biblical allegories and parables. Men’s struggle with his public persona of The Father disrupting his personal pious lifestyle was supposed to be the central theme of his story. The player would be encouraged to reflect on the nature of principles of faith versus needs of survival. Yet somewhere in the pipeline all this was miscommunicated and the writers literally wrote his events as Bible passages, a bit less subtle than we were trying for.
If it's any consolation, I think the way it ended up as we know it now still ultimately worked out swimmingly. It fits, it's sweet, and by no means does it act as a sledgehammer, but a fine mallet, hammering the point home with care and tact, instead of smashing the berlin wall to dust :)

So this one has a less stupid reason compared to most removals in TNO, but his mechanics actually kinda broke with one of the main game updates, and they're now taking it as an opportunity to revamp him a bit and do him greater justice than originally.
Hopefully that doesnt mean watering him down and making him more morally grey in the name of "muh realism", as if his existing benevolence isnt realistic...

I wish there were paths in TNO that allowed reasonable leaders to unite their factions.
Imagining a path where Sablin and Men have a conference and a long negotiation to see if they could resolve their differences. Maybe allow one of the factions to become a client state of the other in return for other concessions.
that actually exists, many nations with similar ideologies can peacefully unite. Also, in case you don't know, if Alexander beats Sablin, he will recruit Sablin as an advisor.

I'd like to see reasonable leaders unite their factions too especially in Russia. Said leader doesn't need to be saintly, just sane and NOT an extremist. I'd like to see a Romanov bring back the Russian Empire of old and then with U.S support, drive the Germans out of Russian territories that they seized during WW2 and fully restore Mother Russia.
I think in some events Men asks Sablin to join him, and he accepts.
Sablin and Men used to be able to peacefully reunify, but now i think Men can only unify with the SBA?

In case if you were wondering. The dubbing is purely because that's how american interviews go with foreign languages. It's not to save effort. In fact, I did spend money hiring a professional voice actor to imitate Alexander Men. So the base audio in Russian also matches!

imo the English dubbing gave me more of a History Channel vibe than 1970s CBS dubbing. I think a booming old fashion news anchor voice would be more fitting.
The dubbing definitely worked. As soon as he started speaking Russian then a delay in the English felt like a perfect interview for the time

Honestly the level of quaility of these videos is amazing. Not just the tecnhnical aspects but the actual scripts are really well written and feel so lifelike and true to character.
