2021 Honda CRF450R: Inside Look

- Опубликовано: 13 сен 2024
- Nearly two decades after its introduction to the motocross world, Honda’s CRF450R begins a new chapter for 2021, this latest version inspired by a “Razor Sharp Cornering” design philosophy. Already the industry’s top-selling motocross model along with its exclusive CRF450RWE sibling, the CRF450R is guided by three main goals for 2021: improved power (particularly on corner exits), improved handling and better consistency for both bike and rider over the course of a tough moto.

Alright I’ll look into buying one of these in 2035 when I can afford it
True story. 😂 in our domestic market there will still probably be a brand new 2021 at the dealer in 2035.
Come on bro, it's not that expensive. What do you do, sell worms for a living?
Whipstitch webwork, no but it’s MSRP is $9599, I’m 16 and saving for a truck I ride a 2009 250r
I was lucky enough for my dad to buy me a new KTM and i think it was $11k out the door at the time for a 350. My 2005 KX250 handles better than the KTM though
Braap Moto yeah! I’m on a Chinese ssr 250. But I don’t care! It’s still running to this day!
They always make it sound like last years bike was absolute trash and garbage.
The ol' sales pitch
😂 not gonna lie that’s true as hell

20% engineering 80% marketing.
For the price, Yeah. Agreed
Bring back the CR500 with a yearly limited production run, like 2,000 bikes a year. They will sell out before the first one rolls off the line.
Then why 2000? How about 5000?
They may bring it back I saw a leak on reddit
Zach Lester Honda will never bring the 2 strokes back. Honda were the ones that lobbied for all of the regulations to give 4 strokes advantages in both Supercross and MotoGP.
It'll never happen. 2-strokes are just too efficient and cheap. They want you to spend thousands on an engine rebuild every couple of years.
@@delectablydiabolical340 so true lmao 2 strokes are more bullet proof since it is in the dirt if something goes into a 4 stroke engine it is more catastrophic because there is valves timing chain and a lot more moving parts costing more money. if dirt gets into a 2 stroke cylinder will go bad or the piston or the worst the crankshaft which all and all 2 strokes are half the price to rebuild and if you maintain a 2 stroke correctly replacing a piston every year for about 100 dollars it will last a very long time.
Honda should bring back 2 strokes!! Who’s with me!?
Smokey J'S Diesel no they don’t
i am with you!!
@@yungbenis9357 pussie
Go away.
Smokey J'S Diesel wtf are you talking about lol. Send a link
Bike sounds incredible. I love how they went into the engineering of the changes and not just claiming the bike acted different. All red looks a little weird but with some graphics I’m sure it will look mint.
Absolutely stunning machine with huge leaps in development over an already great bike. I'm not a Honda fanboy, but have to say this looks like a total winner.
3:15 'Let's take a step back for a minute'
*Both guys literally take a step back*
😁😅well observed! gorgeous bike btw
🤣
How could it get any better?...bring back the two strokes, that’s how.
Amazing bike for 2021. Great work Honda. 💪🏻
0:30 imma make everyone wait just a minute longer.
Me who can skip ahead
"You have no power here"
the duel exhausts are gone 😔
for the best :)
Yeah I'm happy to see the dual exhaust gone. Cheaper for aftermarket now
F
*Dual It saves weight...so not all bad. Beautiful bike.
finally
I love the look of these new models.. I’ve always had full red plastics on my Honda bikes and love the fact they come all red and have black rims, disc guard, sump guard and radiator louvers.. I’ve left the suspension stock on mine because I love how it handles and don’t want to mess with it yet.
Where are the 250 models????
I'm a KTM rider because of the 2 stroke but the 2021 honda is looking fire !!!
Next year they’ll get the update
Just buy it.
Yeah cuz it looks just like a KTM but the only difference is that it's red
@@Tony_7doug and Japanese
@@lexprue KTMs are assembled in India lol
Now all you need to do is make a long maintenance interval, wide gear ratio "WR250R" edition of this, along with a supermoto trim level, and an "adventure" trim level with a 17/19 wheel and tire setup.
Lets go Ride Red!
Let's goooo!
@@hondamotorcycles Buttery?
Don't forget to vote Red too!!
@@hondamotorcycles FUEL INJECTED FIRE BREATHING CRF150RB
ride red get head
I had the first year 250 Elsinore in 73, kept the Pursang too.
Like the single exhaust. Much cheaper to maintain and it is ligther. Look forward to more reviews on these new bikes , might just switch from blue to red.
we know you still have the tooling for 2 strokes, just give us what we want...
yesssss
I hope a pray that the new 250 looks just like this one!!!
Oh boy. My 18 isn’t new anymore. Time flys. I’m liking what I see here. Very nice
This is going to be expensive but great looking bike this will destroy the competition
ET3 is not sweating that. Changes to the frame may not set so well with KR94.
It’s a ktm
Yamaha...
It's gonna be funny when an 85cc passes it like nothing.
The only time honda will destroy everyone is if they have Tomac on their team. Lmao
2022 Honda Trx450r. The world is ready. Time to bring back the king.
FINALLY someone figured out how to mount a motocross seat! Everyone will do it next year. You heard it here
dennis brown could you please explain this to me? I don’t get what they did differently from other models. Thanks
@@gabrielederi6643 It hooks in from front to back when you put the seat on because when you would seat bounce jumps on the old design, the seat would want to unhook itself by sliding backwards from the applied pressure. Now the hooks are flipped so it only hooks tighter when the seat slides backwards.
Gabriele Deri the seat slides into its locked position from the front to back, and bolts on both sides in center. When you accelerate the seat is locked to the bike rather than the rider trying to pull the seat off
dennis brown ktm and husqvarna have been doing this for years look at all you Honda fanboys getting pumped cause your bike is finally getting close to the euros 🤣
dennis brown Wyatt Bozarth, I got it thanks
Honda always kills it the plastics and livery. Love the old school nod with the darker red and blue decal highlights
Eh, wake me up when the 2 strokes are back...
lol guess youre never waking up then. 2 strokes for America are vehicles of the past.
Yesssss!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ktm makes 2 strokes
I'll wake you up when the great coral reef is dead, that'll be a fun time..
tweak ohgy nobody wants European bike though
Previous model was beautiful... This one is ASTONISHING!
When are we going to get some new quads??!!! Bring back the 450 and 400!!!
utv market that market
I´m pretty sure they are working on it. After the CRF 2021 announcement they will focus on quads. imo
As soon as people stop buying the golf karts that are dominating the market.
For real, I miss the quads I still have a 08 trx450 their the best!
Heck no
Can we bring back side number plates? Every year they just get smaller and smaller
I will buy it soon, RX model off course, owning 2018 RX, great changes. Love the air box and the seat👍
I'm a Honda fan and I really want to be a Honda employee I love Honda
This thing is sick
it is good tooooo good but we need a new 2 stroke.
Oath
Aaron Martin TV Honda most likely won’t make 2T Anymore unfortunately
The color is amazing!!!!!
Well heck they went back to single exhaust, I can't even tell the difference between my 07 to 21
Weight difference, at high level motorsports it makes sense to save this 1 Kilogramm, for us it's just the look
and they should focus on less weight concerns the rider has to lose weight before the bike does
I don’t understand why it even had dual exhaust
I've logged in just to say - Honda, please bring back the 2 strokes and blow our minds. Give use a CR250 with modern updates :D
I would love to see honda back to 2 stroke engine era
Yepp i agree, i love the Honda 2 stroke engine, specially HONDA NSR, with Andy Lau "Full Throttle" Movies 🤩
It's soooo racing era
Might be possible as long as the new ceo at honda doesn;t hate 2 trokes like the previous ceos....
Yeah agree
Hey Honda I still love my 2001 cr 250
I’d rather have that than this bike they are showing
We need a crf500x or crf600x or something like that....i LOVE honda...had a xr400r..and it was a VERY nice bike....Honda..you have the built these bikes again..The 2021 crf lineup is very cool..
yes yes yes.
Honda The Power of Dreams
do you know how much money they could make if they brought back 2 strokes with newer technology and i would personally love to see them make a trx250r again
I wanna see a trx450r more than a 250r...
It’s nice to see that they’ve finally caught up with my dads husaberg 450 from 2012😂
Husaberg is a update of the Apollo rfz 😭🤣🤣🤣🤺
Alright! Now can we get a 2021 TRX450R?
No cause there gay
So beautiful😍
Raised headtube to cradle, centerport exhaust, you can now shove a cr500 motor in there with only simple motor mount, and air cleaner, exhaust modifications. Your first 4 stroke engine top end maint will pay for everything.
The 500 wasn’t a great bike that’s why no one bought them .
Mc's Bike life umm are you stupid? They were one of the fastest dirt bikes ever made, you must be uneducated.
@@mcsbikelife3829 So what your saying is, If Honda released this bike with a Cr500 motor Nobody would buy it, So in 25 yrs will you be saying, Nobody liked Trump, so they Elected Hillary.
Robert Belknap he’s just a dipshit don’t wast energy
@@brandonwilliams8003 Yeah.
Forget about the 4 stroke. Bring back the man's bike the cr250r and cr500r 2 stroke. A real mans bike
Bring back the 2 stroke!!!
Hondas are the best bikes out I love Honda I've been watching it ever since 1990 that's the year I was born
I hope we get 125 and 250 2 strokes back some day. I’d rather go for a brand new cr250 then a crf450.
And cr85
It will never happen.
And cr85
This bike is going to be a beast of a bike. Can’t wait to see it on the track and trails
Can we git a new CR250RX 2 stroke.
honda greatest company on earth
aww....I want one. Ever going to bring back any two strokes? possibly a 300 to compete against KTM in the off road segment?
Honda declared a couple decades that they are a 4-stroke company..
YES, bring back the 2-strokes! Not just MX, but street bikes too!
Fantastic motorcycle. Great job Honda. The bar has been set once again
Bit much saying the bar has been set when we don’t know how they perform.
Ben Fairhall everyone has an opinion.
We need the cr's back people ... Been waiting for to long it needs to happen ..
BRING BACK 2 STROKES
Man i can still see David Baileys 1985 WORKS RC250 hiding in there, especially in the layout of the bike.
Proof Honda was light years ahead of everyone 4 decades and counting.
Other than looks the dual pipe being wide in the back really helped with gripping the bike with your legs making riding easier
I drive a 1990 Honda Civic hatchback 4spd manual 30 years old and still drives!!!!
This makes My 2012 honda crf feel sad
Shoot the 2012 is a nice bike though. They hit hard.
Just go buy a new one😂
🤣
still a Honda.
I’ve had just about every year of crf450R. Only ones I haven’t had was the early 02-04 models. The 2012 is still the best crf I’ve ever ridden, although I had a 2016 Crf450 stock front end put on it. never ridden a nicer feeling bike. down on power a bit, but so nice to ride. Miss my old one
I cant wait till I'm able to afford a brand new bike. Right now I'm on an 09 kx250f. Working my way up.
bring back the 2 bangers ffs
They finally dropped the 2nd exhaust, about time!
Bring on the 2-strokes!
My DREAM BIKE.
Hope the 250 goes in this direction 🤙🏻
Great to finally see Honda using the HRC logo on the dirtbikes again. Something about seeing that logo gets me excited and makes me think honda finally mean business again.!!👍🙌🙌🙌
Give us a damn 2 Smoker already....
Honda declared a couple decades ago that they are a 4t company.
better chance of honda making an electric dirtbike than a 2 stroke . Get with the time
nice Okay Greta 🤙🏻
@@thevtadventure1062 lol enjoy handcrafting your 2 stroke engines then once ktm gets slapped in the face with emissions laws
nice still got Yamaha !! 👊🏻✊🏻
Can't wait the new 22 crf250r 🤩
I’m still loving my 2007 though 🤔
Honda makes the best engines in the world!
Finally Honda putting some parts on Ktm has had on for years lol
This kind of technical explanation and innovation makes me proud to be a Honda Red Level Technician.
Alright lemme know if something actually cool happens like the return of two strokes, or atcs other wise lay down plz/ sweet u guys are finally catching up to the power two strokes had literally in the 80s.....
I so wish I could afford one. Awesome bike!!! Honda has always been at the top for me.
We want 2 STROKE!
I love the improvements, everywhere the ktm had an advantage got revised, good job Honda!
Yes, finally we get a Japanese bluecopy of a KTM. Still 7 pounds heavier - but you have to start somewhere.
Not a copy. This is a honda.
I was a die hard Honda guy but also a die hard 2 stroke guy and went out and bought a brand new ktm 300xc f Honda and their 4 strokes
shockadellick aluminum is heavier than steel?
@@CodyMaverick27 i dont no how close for weight they would compare in nearly identical bikes, but u need so much more material to come even close to the strength of steel, driving up the mass. Ive worked with aluminium a bit, its the devil. Its light for given volume, doesnt rust (but does corrode!!), but thats where the pros end.
@@rcmen2637 Look at the header pipe, ergonomics, hydraulic clutch, electric start, ....
Not sure how I feel about the works, but love the new stock red and blue colours, and full red plates, looks like Honda is paying attention, and also the factory hand guards, someone at Honda has friends at Rocky Mountain
Tbh I liked the 2019 graphics better though
the blue looks bad in my opinion
They’re both eye candy to me
I like the racing team blue and red, I have it on my cr125, mostly it's because it's the only one I could find, but it's infinitely better than this
Hondas the F'n BEST! 2 strokes still rule!
It would be better if y’all brought back two strokes tho
Ktm ftw
Soooo do the 250s not get any of this? Have a yz250 2stroke now.
Now all we need, Mr Honda, is a 450L with the same servicng intervals and reliability as the 250L
Yeah but it'd be a slow pig like the 250L, no one really wants that as we can buy a DRZ400 already
RL should fit the bill.
i really like the exhaust..much better
When are you going to bring back Honda 2 strokes?
Please
They cant due to polution
@@anglegrinderlover994 Tell KTM that.
Honda es el mejor vendedor tienen ventas en cada rincon del mundo y yo los fecitito deverdad y ahora estan mostrando su nueva maquina muy bien saludos
Wake me up when 2 strokes r back
We all need a New Rpm Monster Honda CR 2 Stroke ,125R,250R,500R with the technical features from today and the Powerband from back in those days we Honda CR Earns it S wings for, that would be a blast to ride...
We’re the new trx 450r at? 🤷♂️
I wonder because of this Bike they in the process of bringing it back.
I hope so my ass is shot and can’t ride those tall bikes so I need 4weels 😂
I always wanted this bike 💖
🤗to play moto cross
MAKE 2 STROKES AGAIN HONDA!!!!!
Glad to see you guys are actually starting to make some power
When we getting a new TRX 450r 🤷🏽♂️
2022, look it up
Yes PLZ bring back the 2 strokes!!!
You guys need to improve your quads. Bring back the good ol’ sport quads. Make some bigger cc’d utility quads. Love you guys though.
Bring back the trx250r
Quads are for retards. There really is no reason to own one when bikes exist. They are for lazy people and old ladeeeees.
Ill keep my 2018 YZ450 thank you very much, you cant beat perfection and right out of the box. Theres no argument on the suspension KYB SSS second to none.
My only problem is the front number plate it just looks kinda wierd in my opiniin
Fair criticism.
This video has the excitement of a safety trainig video at new job
Honda back to 2stroke engine
I can’t wait until 2040 when the value finally depreciates enough for me to afford it !
