Great video, thanks very much! One point to watch - the coil on cyl 3 (3rd from left) wouldn't lift out. There's a bolt holding down a cable guide just to the left of the coil and this fouls the coil top. Simply remove the bolt (10mm socket again) and the coil comes out as easily as the others. Don't forget to replace it once you've changed the plug and replaced the coil, before replacing the coil bolt!
Hello Peter. How is better at spark plugs electrod distanse: big or small? The old spark plug have a bigger distance at electrod and the new one have a small distance.
Thanks Peter, I wanted to take off the rust on that metal head where the plugs are , on my car and wondering how to take those wires and stuff off, thanks.
1.6 vvti gets a rough idle whenever I switch anything electric on (fan, lights, indicators even the power steering) what could be causing this? I have changed plugs, and maf sensor that helped a little. Thanks Peter !
Peter Finn thanks for reply Peter but I don't think so because it is 2006 model and only 120,000 Kms. It will be in for repairs soon I will be sure to post the culprit thanks again
Hello Mr.Finn very good video. I have the same car Toyota Avensis SDN Prestige 2007. I changed spark plugs at 50000km now my car has 85400km. Do I have to change spark plugs? How much costs spark plugs for Toyota Avensis? Because it was the first time that I changed spark plugs at 50000km on the car service. When I start the car the engine vibrates and shakes a little. Maybe a bad spark plugs missfire? And the sound of engines looks little different after when I changed spark plugs at 50000km. I didn't changed spark plugs from Toyota Maintenance. What makes engines shakes and vibrate? and sound of engine looks little different like Diesel. My car is 1.6L 5 speed manual. Toyota Avensis SDN Prestige model 2007. Any help and advice it'll be pleasure. Thank you.
Hi Peter. I have a 1.8l 2003 Toyota Avensis. It does not accelerate smooth until the rpm reaches 2000 then it goes like a bullet. what do you think its problem is?
Useful video. Thanks I changed my spark plugs today. The ones I replaced were denso and they still looked good. I replaced with Brisk iridium but removing the spanner after fastening the plugs was difficult. It seems that the diameter was a little more than 16mm on the Brisk.
I changed spark plug in my 2008 Toyota Yaris today. Took out NGK put in Denso., but I used a 5/8 Spark Plug Socket for both. It fit both Plug makes very well. I tried to buy a 16mm but neither parts place had one. I did a decimal comparison and found that 5/8 or .625 is equal to 15.875mm. Even being smaller it still fit very well. Thanks for the helpful Video.
You are the best mate. You're videos are so clear that anyone's understands. 10/10!
Thanks.

Peter, thank you for your videos! between Volkswagen end Toyota, what would you chose in terms of simplicity of built end reliability?
Good job, helpful explanation!
Don't you put copper paste on the thread of the new spark plug? Should one put copper paste?
Right !
Very good video, thanks for sharing your knowledge.
Thank You.
Any ideas of a stalling 2.0 engine, 1AZ-FSE? Low rpm makes it almost stalls when going in roundabouts.
Hi, please check engine piston compression rates

Hi, maybe your engine is worn out?

Yah my one those the exact same things but I do have a cylinder 3 misfire code so hopefully replacing that spark plug will clear things up
@@neilmurphy845 or the coil could very well be the problem
@@daking6739 Yah I said I'd chance the spark plug first and see if that fixes it because the OEM coils are 200 Euros each
Why must you disconnect battery before removing? Can we leave the battery wire on the battery?
Battery can generate misfire.

Peter, if a bensin engine on a Toyota Avensis 2.0 2004 burns oil.
Should I change the 5w30 oil to 5w40 or 10w40? What would you recommend?
Use Mobil 1
@@PeterFinnTheCarDoctor But their oil are kind of expensive when comparing to the oil that Biltema sales. Is it that much better? Thoughts?
Where can I buy a new or used battery hold down for my 05 verso

Maybe piston rings are bad

Hello. I recommend only Denso and NGK plugs to Toyota. Toyota needs Japans plugs.
