When police officer Carter discovers a blood-soaked man limping down a deserted road, he rushes him to a local hospital with a bare bones, night shift staff. As cloaked, cult-like figures surround the building, the patients and staff inside start to turn ravenously insane. Trying to protect the survivors, Carter leads them into the depths of the hospital where they discover a gateway to immense evil.
My favorite horror movie.
It has everything: monsters, cult, gore, tension and it's clearly influenced by Lovecraft. You can never go wrong making a Lovecraftian horror movie.
you need to watch Sacrifice
@@bannor216 Which Sacrifice are you talking about? Im interested.
@@novi_xa the one made last year. It was pretty good
It’s fantastic! if you’re into Lovecraft then download or see if it’s on Prime: “Dagon”
Have you seen Dagon yet? It's a Lovecraftian classic.
I'm imagining those robed killers outside meeting to discuss the matching costume design they want, how they're going to make the costumes (maybe they had to go to a shop and hire someone), and distributing them to everyone. It really softens the horror when you imagine all the boring mundane things that had to go into it.
I kind of disagree. I think it add to the horror that they were so dedicated to their plan that they were willing to go through that mundane stuff. Imagine how dedicated the group has to be to put together matching outfits. Those are people who aren't going to change their minds mid plan.
Reminds me of the KKK scene in Django Unchained
Maybe so, but you know that many hours were spent voting and approving every little design change, more hours spent testing the prototype design, and one of their moms likely spent hundreds of hours taking measurements and sewing them all to custom size once they determined how many they would need.
they're just selling wonder brooms.
Look, I think we all can agree, the hoods were a good idea.
Completely Underrated movie, its 2023 and I just watched this when it came out in 2017. Amazing horror/scifi 🙌🏻 5/5
are u retarded
This honestly looks interesting. Love H.P. Lovecraft and Clark Ashton Smith, as well as a large number of other horror writers. This definitely has a bit of a Clive Barker feel.
Gangrel the Aussie is always out and aboot in Alice Springs- conducting secret occult rituals on the esplanade under the cover of night. Witching Hour.
Legend is that Lovecraft himself rose from the grave to applaud this.
This has to be one of the most underrated movies of the last decade.
no the fuck its not
@@Chris-qv8wx 😂 you made my day with your reply
Ya suck a big one Lovecraft is not the V9id. Or ánything like this movie besides hp loves his penis envy shrooms the void we lb
@@Chris-qv8wxit is though. A borderline masterpiece
Nah this is mediocre, the plot should have weight more toward the end but instead it feel thin & flimsy, characters develop too predictable, cinematographer just overused close-up shots & dark color pallete that act as a constantly reminded that this is a budget movie ( which ruin the atmosphere they tried to create ) . The most underrated cosmic horror movie since 2000 is Dead End
When gravity falls and earth becomes sky, fear the beast with just one eye
Fiddleford, get ahold of yourself! You're not making any sense!
A blind person with a big uncircumcised dick has just one eye, is that what you mean? I wonder if there's a porn film like that. With a blind porn actor. A beast with just one eye. Fear him.
If you're looking for a Lovecraftian horror film, this scratches that itch better than any other in recent memory.
I have no idea about the actual movie but I can say that this is one of the best trailers for a horror movie that I have ever seen!!!
The movie is pretty great. Highly recommend.
One of the best movies ever
The movie is an absolute GEM. The cultists are coming for you if you don't watch it.
Disappointed to say that this movie is kinda bad
@@jobutupacki6158 It's a low budget horror movie in a spirit of the old "straight to VHS" type of movies. A simple movie that does it's job for me. I wasn't expecting anything else and was actually pleasantly suprised.
Looks like this will do Cosmic Horror justice. Haven't seen a good cosmic horror film since Into The Mouth Of Madness and Event Horizon.
Color out of space, the endless, Spring,
@@mikemckenzie3175 thanks for the suggestions man...
@@Racoon-Man no mention
Watch mandy it has some influence of cosmic horror
@@guillermodellatorre8529 I did... Nic Cage is amazing
Excellent 80’s horror homage - really worth a watch if you enjoy the genre.
Underrated Gem, I need more Cosmic Horror that doesn't suck
Gravity Falls Live Action sure looks AWESOME! :D
Ah... Cthulhu is involved somehow, I know it
Oh for sure some clear H.P influences.
We need to bring back the Lovecraft cosmic horror genre, it deals with some rather relevant stuff, specifically, facing our own insignificance as a species and dealing with something so outside our realm of understanding one cannot help but plunge into madness. Rick and Morty has brought back that concept in science fiction and it's about time that we see it manifest in horror.
Fabricio Nogueira tentacles = lovecraft or hentai
Fabricio Nogueira I personnaly certainly hope Cthulhu won't be involved. He is boring, incredibly boring. Bring the really interesting ones, like Nyarlathotep, Azathoth or Yog-Sothoth. Hell, even Noden would be more intersting. Cthulhu as been used so many times, it's time to let some other eldritch horrors shine a little, especialy in this movie. After all, Nyarlathotep would have uses for such a cult. It would amuse him to no end.
Rebax Bayushi it's nice to see a fellow fan who knows more gods than just Cthulu.
Saw this at Toronto After Dark. Great fun!
I watched this hoping for late night b movie entertainment to veg out to. Instead ended up staying up as I became invested into the movie rather quickly and had a nice little tale to tell with a good twist.
Idk how I missed this movie but holy smokes that was some next level horror.
"Executive producer of a movie in which he had no contributing role"
They're really reaching, aren't they?
That said, this looks fun and I hope it's a huge success.
One of my favourite movies. Definitely worth a watch
Amazing special effects team!!
This movie is very underrated. I want more of this.
The director's next film is called PG: Psycho Goreman. It's coming out in the next few weeks.
@@Rise2Resist Nice, thx for the data.
This has somehow a resemblance to "Event Horizon". Love it!
Dope Cosmic Horror flick!! One of my modern favorites. Up there with "A Color Out of Space"
I was pleasantly surprised by how awesome this movie is.
Loving the good horror movies trend, because this one looks amazing.
Finally a good horror movie! Can we get more of THIS instead of The Conjuring and whatever A21 craps out next? Thank you.
Do you mean A24? Because I don't hope so for your safety.
@@carltanner7461 Yeah... Yeah them. Lol, okay Mr. EDgY. Even you knew, in the conversation context, I was talking about a "horror" film studio and not an anti-trafficking movement.
@@mistreviews A24 has some great films. Just think of Hereditary, The VVitch or Lamb. Just because The Void is a good film, doesn't mean other films aren't. And A24 is a really bad company to pick on, have a look at Blumhouse instead, their films are actually bad.
@@carltanner7461 My primary issue is how they're labeled. They're NOT horror movies. More like thrillers with a horror lean. I haven't seen a single movie from them that fills me with any dread or feeling of terror. The movies use creepiness as a thin veil for a message instead of trying to create a terrifying experience. It's even more irritating when people trying to uplift the studio as "the future of horror" and with reviews saying "It's the scariest thing ever." If I want an elaborate metaphor for motherhood, a failing family lost in repression, or in being an outcast, I'll read about it. I watch horror movies because I want to be frightened.
I had never heard of this movie but it was pretty good. Superb special effects
This is by far one of the best horror movies ever made. Absolute hidden gem, as much as I wish more people would see it I like it being a cult status kind of film.
Amazing! love the look! reminds me of Carpenter's work.
I was thinking the same, kind of looks like it could be a sequel to The Thing.
Exactly, when the title "The Void" appeared definitelly reminded me of The Thing.
John Carpenter meets H.P. Lovecraft meets Clive Barker with a bit of Cronenberg thrown in. So basically this movie is incredible if you're into gory cosmic horror monster movies. I'm still impressed at how resourceful they were with the outstanding practical effects they created on the budget they had.
Its a movie that came out of no where. In a sea of horror movies that are generally sub par trash, this is a fucking hidden gem. Do you like Lovecraft? Do you like cosmic horror? You will enjoy this movie. Yes, our lord and savior Cthulhu does make an appearance, but not exactly how one would expect. The sheer scale and way they did it makes the hair on my neck stand on end. So good.
Ignore the Zeratul introduction. This is Lovecraft cosmic horror at its best, at least in the last decade, couple of decades?
Tf is cosmic horror??😭
Lord and Savior? That is the title of my God Jesus Christ and He will not give His glory to another...I sincerely hope you are joking shade, that attitude and those who bear it will be grinded to powder and burned. He doesn't want that for you as he did last his life down for us. He will do it tho. This spiritual thing is absolutely real and the war is for your soul, don't mess this up cuz u only get 1 run here bud. 🙋
@@Manwichman There are thousands of gods and yours isn’t special. I worship a Flying Spaghetti Monster and will call him my Lord and Savior, if it pleases me.
@@Manwichman sorry dude but idk how you can worship something will supposedly burn you and grind you to dust for some off hand remark in a yt comment.

Excited for this one after seeing the trailer
The Thing returns
This isn't the end? Yes, where is the sequel. I loved this movie.
One of the best movie ive ever seen. And i made a fan made trailer for school project. I hope there will be a sequel someday.

A genuinely great film. Not all questions are answered sadly, which prevents it from being a genuine masterpiece, but it's a fully-realised vision of Hell and the ending is truly haunting.
Looks exactly like The colour out of Space, watching The Void tonight, I am so excited, Horror, sci fi and gore, beautiful
San loss. Tentacles. Nightmarish descent into madness.
H.P Lovecraft approves.
No H.P. Lovecraft would never write something that bad.

Really underrated movie!
So sick and hp lovecraft influences!
'The Thing', 'Halloween II' and Hellraiser put together = this movie. Very entertaining!
This is everything Lovecraft, love it!!

Moon lord is awoken!
Ah yes terraria
Ever watching something that doesn't seem so scary but you start to tear up at. Me at the beginning of the trailer and now I'm done. When a trailer does that I stop and wait til it comes out.
👏
The trailer makes me want to watch it
......and with that I now must have this on Blu Ray.
When I see matching outfits I think of the Django Unchained scene
Jeff Parkinson I can't see fuckin shit!!!
this is one of the best horror trailers ever holy crap
It definitely surprises me!
Silent Hill Films still get made?
FEAR THE OLD BLOOD
The best non-lovecraft, Lovecraft movie ever made.
Awesome movie 🍿 highly recommend watching
Perfect horror film and so underrated
I've never been so scared of a triangle.
😂
I see a little "Stranger Things" font choices going on in there.
the movie got built around the font
Squirlyfresh sucks yeah obviously, he's just pointing out that they're similar
Technically it's the Stephen King font
That too
The Kendrunkians TV it is lovecraftian
I'm not really a fan of horror(as a kid/teenager yeah, not so much as an adult) but this looks pretty damn good.
Back in March 2015, BIO-COP sent me DM about this next feature film, The Void, so I suspected he'd make an appearance.
Is that him at 1:21?
nothing like watching a horror movie trailer before bed.
Indeed
"... you think you are GOD!"
"I defy god."
Sounds like Zeratul is doing the narrations 😂
Its like HP lovecraft and John Carpenter had a child...
What.

Film.
Very impressed just watched it.
John Carpenter is heavily inspired by Lovecraft iirc
Underrated horror movie
must watch this!
Oh this looks cool! I'm going to go see it when it hits theaters! Maybe finally I can get my brother to go to a horror movie.
"It's not horror, it's Cult Thriller!" Hehehe.
Hahaha! That's mean, but funny. Did you trick him into going? Did he wig out?
Me and my mom watched this movie a few nights ago and this movie is a great way to lose your lunch
my favorite horror movie of all time
Love this movie
The way headlights are shot. The colors, the cinematography.... Gives really strong John Carpenter vibes...
Nahh... It's probably me.
This movie was fucking awesome. Watched it by chance a few weeks ago and have watched it a few times since.
Being a small town cop with a small hospital in the town I can relate to this vibe.
Surprisingly, this movie is good.
ya....i want to see this
I liked it but it felt a little undercooked.
Reminded me a lot of GTD’s book of curiosities THE AUTOPSY.. iykyk
This bomb came out from nowhere, partly crowdfunded?!!, will become a classic, the fact it borrows from Carpenter(Prince of darkness), Barker and Lovecraft is so much more exciting. Not teen crap, watch this.
This movie rocked
A gem
I had a Strange Dream about this "The Void"
One of the best horror movies I’ve seen
HEY that's the chick from Patriot! (?)
PRAISE THE GOOD BLOOD
Grant us eyes
BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD
Our eyes are yet to open.... Where the hunters at?
somewhatmaniacal BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD!!!!!!
By the gods, fear it Laurence!
this could almost be in the mouth of madness 2
This movie was amazing. Like a love letter to 80's horror, mix of Lovecraft and Clive Barker. See it!
Sick!
was that josh from the blair witch that first came in on the sretcher
The medical inaccuracies in this film are damn hilarious! Too many to mention! 😂😂😂
I remember my first movie ever smh
Great idea, reminds me of The Thing. Like other recent horror fare though it's probably going to be terribly executed with a predictable plot twist like Daniel is the son of whatever evil entity is calling the cult and/or the murderous family at the beginning is trying to stop the bad guys.
Como esse filme ainda não foi Dublado pra Português.... Ja faz anos
So i own this movie, for people who like cosmic horror HP lovecraft. its a amazing movie. i guess they ran out money and the last bit was crrowd founded. but you would know it. the the performances where amazing. This is right up there with the THING from 1981 with Kurt Russel. This movies is a hidden gem and this gem shines bright. Most cosmic horror movies suck. but this one is PERFECT. i have watched at least 30 tims and like the THING it never gets old. iam very picky on my cosmic horror movies. most times iam dissappointed. THIS IS NOT THE CASE FOR THE VOID
ooh i love a good lovecraft inspired movie
Nothing is scarrier than the x-files
Looks interesting.
Could be a nice Horror Shooter game
