Left side of my headphone's doesn't work and I was wondering that why I am not able to hear. After reading your comment I realized the issue then I removed the headset to listen to the video. :D
I completely agree! Clear articulation is crucial, and the Bane example is hilarious yet spot-on. I've struggled with talking too fast, especially when I'm excited about a topic, like when I’m discussing my favorite cycling routes. It’s amazing how a little pause can make your words resonate! Taking the Sense of Humor Improvement Program by Habit10x helped me learn to slow down and really engage with my audience. Remember, it’s not just about what you say but how you say it. Embrace the rhythm of your voice, and you’ll connect better with others!
I used to be so quiet I couldnt even say hello to people. I did a drama performance and the person I played was a mute person. After that I got more into theatre and my public speaking changed drastically overtime. I started using tone I started to think before I speak. The art of language is truly amazing. But im still quite an introvert.
In the past, I was a horrible speaker, I would freeze talking to people. Fast foward nowadays, after reading 3 books in 2020 plus practicing with people, I can speak without pausing to think for words. Im becoming articulate and eloquent. Good video.
I'm an introvert to the core, but presenting has gotten so much easier to the point that I can clearly speak and even improvise, it is not a perishable skill.
I’m so glad to hear this. I’m an introvert as well but I feel very comfortable speaking in front of people after doing so for a long time. Practice goes a long way!
Great video. Any tips for introvert people who normally hesitate to talk in group or share their views and opinions. While talking, I am unable to get the right words to form the correct sentence. Can you please share your advice?
Thank you for your feedback. First, I'm an introvert as well. Briefly, the three things I recommend are to think about the words you want to say in a given situation. It's okay to pause, to reflect and to consider what you want to say in a given circumstance. Second, practice, practice and practice some more. The only way to become a better speaker is to speak. Finally, observe people you admire in terms of their ability to articulate themselves. What do they do to get their point across? How are they able to express themselves so effectively? What are they doing to communicate their message? I hope this helps!
Great tip! I am slowly incorporating this into my presentations as well. Meditation, having a flow of thoughts from one topic to the other .. all help me stay relevant and focused on the content I'm trying to present. On a similar note, how should I be better prepared for handling situations like odd audience behavior (checking phone/talking) that can break my chain of thought? Should I call them out of just continue as though nothing happened?
One step you can take is to address these issues from the start by setting expectations for audience behavior. For example, you can ask participants to wait until a break or after the presentation to answer their phones. Another step you can take is to make sure your audience members are actively engaged participants during the sessions. Active participants are less likely to participate in problematic behaviors. I hope this helps.
Good content! Are there some drills one can do to improve with this? Currently, I do tongue twisters to help improve my enunciation. I also practice pronouncing 4, 5, 6, and 7 syllable words. With that, I still have trouble speaking publically in small groups and get jumbled over my words. Are there some drills/ techniques one can do to improve with this?
Thank you for your feedback and questions. First, look at my response to the comment above. I think that will help. Second, I think what you are doing can be very helpful; however, it's not the same as actually speaking in public. What you want to do is practice what you are actually going to say. For example, I will often practice the opening and closing lines of a presentation until I am comfortable with exactly what I will say. Likewise, a lot of my asynchronous video content is scripted, at least in part. I practice my lines over and over again until they no longer sound scripted. That also improves my ability to speak this content during live, extemporaneous presentations. I hope this helps!
My left ear enjoyed this
Hahaha lol exactly
Lol
I’ve been trying to figure out what was wrong with my headphones and then I saw your comment.

And keep your body and head still, a minimum of head movement. People will take you more seriously.
