Hot glue and paperclips are the bread and butter of DIY modeling. It's right up there with cork board, spent coffee grounds, and mod podge. Great tutorial. I'll have to keep this one in the ol' noodle.
I love these simple things that make a game board more alive! I've been using washers and stretched cotton balls as smoke grenades since I started the hobby and these are right up that alley
I made a few smoke markers when I was playing Flames of War. I used red and yellow flocking and sprayed black via an air brush from the top down. Very similar to what you have done. The white glue was the nasty part....I would layer the flocking on instead of skewering it. I think your method is less messy and quicker with the same results. Thanks again.

Oh yeah. I went the white glue route. I had stuff stuck everywhere, lol! Mostly on my hands
Always assumed that they were 3D printed. Nice to get a 'peek behind the curtain' as it were.

Good Stuff!
cool video.
Do you have a video of your actual mat or ground that you use? How you painted that as well?
The mat used in this one is from skirmish-mats.com. I use a lot of various mats in our video.
Thanks for this , great stuff!
