I think he will be able too. His boxing as we all know is the best hands down and he is a very smart and defensive fighter. He will have to train and learn about kicks and grappling or jiujitsu techs and defenses. I can see him being a defensive monster in MMA if he just learns the tech and defenses in MMA. He is not a stupid fighter, so i feel he will learn quickly.

Round 2 Floyd gonna throw a spinning wheel kick but miss. His opponent is going to land several good leg kicks in which floyd will take the first two or three but afterwards check all of them. Floyd gonna also attempt to do a flying knee but again misses. His opponent going to try to take floyd down but floyd gonna successfully defend all takedowns by being perched up along the fence. Floyd will outbox his opponent with stiff jabs, head kicks, spinning stuff, and use his shoulder roll to mike-perry all of his opponents punches. Floyd will dodge all body & head kicks.
Round 3 Floyd's opponent is going to attempt to score an early round takedown but Floyd will do a wizard and ends up on top. Floyd lets his opponent back up. After his opponent misses a kick floyd will look to level change and attempt a takedown. Doesn't work so floyd is going to try and do a leg lock. His opponent now knows he's fucked. Floyd transitions from leg lock --> half calf slicer & wins via submission.

Yeah, I can see the leg kicks, especially inside leg kicks. Nevertheless, I think Boxers have the reflexs to dodge blows to the face. That's what they do. Could be a combination that conceals a kick enough to get him though. It would't last long, because Floyd is not a devastating puncher, so there would be no fear from Conner on that whatsoever.

Trying to look at things from both sides here. But super funny. Ah... My thoughts. Mayweather has the boxing experience to protect himself and the stamina, but I don't think he's going to be ready for kicks and elbows. It's going to take a lot of dedication and hard work to be ready for all that. Plus I think he's to afraid to step in the octagon. It will be the first time in his career that we will see him quit. I would love to see it so we can see that big ego knocked out of him, but he's just to afraid. Time will tell. I don't see it happening.
Floyd is a very brilliant fighter, he just needs to practice the techniques for mma and study a lot more and he will do good. Striking wise with the hands he is superb, but once he learns everything. I feel he will be a strong Defensive and Counter monster MMA. he may be a lot older, but remember out of all fighters. he literally took almost no damage, and has kept his training up to par. meaning he is probably physically and mentally ready compared to most younger fighters.

Wasn't money in the MMA fight with UFC. UFC wasn't willing to do what Mayweather asked of them with the split of PPV and allowing Mayweather to put his sponsors their cage. Dana / UFC also couldn't guarantee Mayweather the $50,000,000 upfront portion. So then Mayweather tried starting a MMA Promotion under his name. Conor McGregor couldn't do the MMA fight without UFC due to contracts. That's part of the main reason Conor McGregor didn't fight as much, he was in his mind standing up against Dana White.
If you go back you'll see in pressers where Dana White started flipping on Conor McGregor. By claiming Conor wasn't trying to fight and that he's made too much money he doesn't have the hunger anymore. Dana White slowly started to cast McGregor out, then Conor started beating on old men in bars and getting bad press. So eventually the steam for the Mayweather vs McGregor MMA fight started fading away. Then Mayweather himself wasn't interested anymore and started doing the exhibition fight with that kickboxer guy. Dana White purposely ruined it, Mayweather was actually learning how to do Jiu Jitsu during that timeframe. So in his mind he was serious. Just the money wasn't right for him, and Dana White was holding Conor McGregor captive.
