boxing is a great base for mma striking. Instinct Counterpunch timing can help get out tight situations. Ko punches will eat up someone coming for a takedown even with a graze, can make you cautious and second think another one.

And he's fast, so he might have better chances crossing over than a heavyweight boxer.
