Exposed! Floyd Mayweather Freudian Slip Reveals Game Plan

  • During an interview with Stephen A Smith of ESPN, Floyd Mayweather committed the worst Freudian Slip imaginable and accidentally told the world his game plan for his fight with Conor McGregor on August 26. Courvoisier does a close reading of the whole Floyd Mayweather interview in question. Through analysis of Floyd's body language and psychology you will see what Floyd is actually thinking.
    The scientific term for a Freudian Slip is parapraxis. Put simply, this is when you misspeak by saying what is in your mind, but not what you intend to say.
    What is Floyd Mayweather's real game plan for his boxing match with Conor McGregor? What does Floyd think about his legacy? What is Floyd willing to do against Conor to make his game plan work?

    McGregor visualizes things and they happen. Just like when he visualized himself as a lion eating the "gazelle" carcass of Nate Diaz...oh,wait...maybe that wasn't a good example....i just suck at this kind of thing.

    CAn you please make it clear who you think is gonna win this fight because you in your videos you play both sides and I just have a feeling no matter what the outcome is your gonna point to one of your videos with a "I told you so" so can you just be clear of what the analysis is telling is gonna happen on fight night?

    • @tritonvasquel9617
      @tritonvasquel9617 7 лет назад +8

      It's obviously McGregor this guy is hard for. No doubt. But, it is intentionally vague enough just in case the unwanted scenario happens for him and Mayweather wins.
      I'm a fan of both fighters. I think most people are, but in the ring, Mayweather probably dominates. And, I mean dominates with about 90% conviction.

      Tyler Walker Conspiracy: Floyd bet on himself to lose by K.O, it's all a sham my friend. He owes too much money and wants his kids set up for life and to be able to pay back whoever he owes.

    • @hraharahra
      @hraharahra 7 лет назад

      Well, nothing you said contradicts the conspiracy. Money will be received no matter win or loss. Plus loss allows for a rematch. Meaning double the money.

    • @adamimberti6948
      @adamimberti6948 7 лет назад +3

      Tyler Walker He's not playing any side and i don't think he's using this stuff to make a definitive prediction. He's just analysing what is happening in the lead up to the fight. I think he's slanted towards McGregor but i don't think it's biased. He is objectively seeing McGregor win the psychological battle in the lead up to the fight, which is only worth so much on fight night but interesting none the less.
      I think you guys are projecting your bias towards McGregor onto him and getting mad that this stuff doesn't appeal to that.... as McGregor fans tend to do. Not everyone is emotionally invested in a particular fighter and not everyone is either a fanboy or a hater.... we call them adults. And we're just curious to see what happens.

    • @superflyguy4488
      @superflyguy4488 7 лет назад

      Why does anybody have to state definitively who they think will win, maybe only those who are full on fanboys of either sport of fighter. Like most sensible people i think Floyd should win the match but i can see ways in which Conor pulls it off, i think people are using justification for a Floyd win that is no longer relevant, like who he beat when he was 30 for example. Floyd was badly out of condition when he started his training for this fight, and he has had around eight weeks to get ready, probably not long enough to shed that body fat but retain enough muscle to hit 154lb. The weigh in will be when i make a prediction, i can see Floyd being 150lb and Conor bang on 154lb, on the night though Conor will look huge and if he uses his mass intelligently it might be a tiring night for Floyd.

    Cognition 1: Conor McGregor is Bruce Lee reincarnated and he can destroy any fighter he wants.
    Cognition 2: Conor McGregor probably won't win a limited combat match against a pillow-fisted, aging boxer.
    Altered cognition: Floyd Mayweather will allow Conor to win in order to move boxing forward and make hundreds of millions more for his family.
    Cognitive dissonance resolved! Great job MMA fans!

    I agree with the fact the Floyd is putting on a "Mask" as you say to hide his nervousness, but that doesn't in any way diminish his actual Fighting Genius when he fights in the ring. Every time Floyd was met with any type of adversity in a fight, he adapted; Like you said, when Floyd is on the defensive or when he's nervous he goes into a Visual state in his mind. I believe this plays a part as to how Floyd tends to adapt so accurately in his tough bouts so quickly.

      Dude, you're just as socially inept as Alpaca if you believe his "analysis". The real reason floyd said any of this was to SELL PPV. He want's to make the audience believe it's going to be action packed. And guess what HE DID go after McGregor during the fight. Alpaca makes a very, very, VERY huge assumption to say he was nervous, he was not, then he goes on to build an IMAGINARY narrative behind his already weak assumption. How is this insightful to you?? Really? unsub to this clown. There's better YT content creators with real analysis that are based on real facts.

      He and his team has been doing this for 20 years against the best boxers on the planet without showing any overtly concerns, why would they be worried now when facing a complete pro boxing novice who's never ever had a pro boxing match before? In just about every logical way to look at it, this is Floyd's easiest fight in 200 years, he was a teenager the last time he fought anyone with this little boxing experience.

    Yes! My guess to the reason he wanted 8 oz gloves was that he wants the fight to end quickly. Either (his first choice), he wins quickly in devastating fasion, and gets the respect from both the MMA world and the boxing world. The other option is that he loses in the first few rounds. He has already started to make excuses (being old, partying every night the week before the fight, etc), and a comforting thought in that he will make a lot of money for his kids' future from the fight.
    What I think he doesn't want (or is skilfully masking that he wants) is for the fight to go the distance. He dislikes the way McGregor makes him feel and he wants that feeling to go away as soon as possible.
    Love your analyses! Keep them coming, goddamn newt! :)

    Let's see, i've been thinking about it a couple weeks ago but mainly after I saw this interview, massive betting odds if he bets against himself, second fight payday and who knows what higher ups might be offering him to throw the fight. Then you have him doing multiple things that will give him an "out" on why he lost, gloves, underestimated, older, retired, telling everyone hes going forward and making it up to the fans ect. Plenty of excuses he can use to save face while cleaning up outrageously. He's planning on throwing the fight for the largest payday in boxing history and then a rematch!

      You are right, Floyd says, “I gotta go to him” every single time. What’s of interest, is the first time Floyd says this phrase there is a neural hiccup, the result is communicatively indiscrete.
      The Lexical/semantic functions of the phrase are salvageably intact. The phonetic/syllabic functions of the phrase delaminate from the assumptive phonological interpretation.
      Do you remember the part where Courvoisier explains parapraxis? You can’t conceptualize the thesis of this episode without paying attention to that part of the video.
      Thanks for expressing your thoughts. Let me know if this helped any confusion.

    Floyd seems to place more importance on making the money necessary for his families' future than his legacy in this interview. If that were the case the obvious move for him would be to intentionally lose this fight and have people bet his money on McGregor. That way he gets paid three times 1st fight, betting, and the rematch.

      I agree. He is very open about the fact that HE HAS TO GO DOWN. The powers that really control the chess board have ordered him to stop doing what made him undefeated and go after Connor making himself vulnerable to make it more believable when he "GOES DOWN". Floyd's signature on the contract of this fight is not about keeping his undefeated record. It's about wining money. Most people interested in the sport of fighting have really not noticed this. He makes it clear. Don't be fooled by Floyd though. He's not doing it for his children. Floyd is a very wicked crafty and charismatic human animal. I wouldn't call him a man in the tradition of being honorable by no means. An honorable man can't trust Floyd.

    • @masonmccarroll9041
      @masonmccarroll9041 7 лет назад +4

      magnetik do you really believe that? I don't know, I'm not convinced. I mean, doesn't he ALREADY have enough money to take care of his kids? That's all I've EVER heard the man talk about, money. He even gave himself "money" as his middle name! I know that Conor made the statement that Floyd was "having IRS troubles," and there's probably some truth to that, and I also know that there's no such thing as "too much money," but just how damned greedy can a person be?! For me, that is just one of the things about this man that makes it impossible for me to like him. If he didn't already have more money than he knew what to do with, then MAYBE I would feel differently, and I could RESPECT the CLAIM that "he's doing it for his kids." Then there's that comment about "doing it for all the black people," and America. Like the guy said, that is just a lie. Floyd must think people are just dumb as hell! Oh I'm sure that there's plenty of dumbasses out there who buy into that load of shit, but I am not one of them! I said from that first interview he did at the beginning of the press tour, he was trying to find that "niche," that certain "hook" to get people aboard his hype train, to sell this fight. A reporter asked him about what hip-hop song he would like to walk out to, he said, "why it gotta be hip-hop?!" "I might walk out to the national anthem." And, he had on his stars and stripes warm-up suit. He was trying to go with "America vs Ireland" but when that didn't quite work out, because a lot of Americans don't like him, he went the only other way, he pulled the race card. And that's another reason not to like him. To me, that is just low, it turns my stomach. As if things aren't strained enough between blacks and whites, he decides to stir shit up even more, all for his own selfish reasons, to make money off of it, and if there's any backlash that comes from it, do you honestly think he will give a fuck?! No. All that matters to him is his money. Sorry guys for the novel, but I have to say it felt good to get that off my chest. Oh, and one last thing, I personally hope that Conor kicks the fuckin shit outta him, but even if he does, unless he ko's him stiff, he won't get the credit he deserves. Floyd and his dad Floyd Sr. have been planting those seeds of doubt. Floyd has said that Conor "fights extremely dirty," and all his dad has talked about is lawyers and suing. Anything that Conor does that isn't the same old boring shit that Floyd is used to, it will be called "dirty." So, as shitty as that is, even if Conor wins, he still won't WIN.

    +Alpaca Thesaurus -- Floyd's part in this fight seems to come down to his feelings about legacy. He's really put himself into an unusually odd and high-pressure situation. The boxing world largely is in agreement that Conor McGregor stands no chance -- folks like Max Kellerman are even saying that he's not even going to land a glove on Mayweather. At the same time, McGregor has talked so much shit at Floyd, his crew, the boxing world... that everyone surrounding Floyd MUST be putting pressure on him to finish.
    Folks in the sports media have always been reluctant to call Floyd the GOAT, which you can see in some of Floyd's interviews from the past 5 or so years. He always argues his point based on stats ("numbers don't lie"), and on the quality of opponents, even having added Manny Pacquiao to his collection of scalps.
    Since the fight with McGregor was announced, the rhetoric surrounding Floyd, the consensus among sports professionals has been to capitulate to calling him "the greatest DEFENSIVE fighter of all time," as a way to contextualize what he means to the sport of boxing to a wider audience. As far as I know, this nearly unanimous distinction as the greatest "defensive" boxer of all time is new to Floyd. No one will argue that description.
    How does Floyd feel about that particular description, and how important is his boxing legacy to him? We can tell from the videos and interviews that he views his kids and his business empire as his true legacy at this point in time. I think that he really does want to be considered the GOAT. As you said, Floyd NEEDS a finish in this fight to secure his place at the top. If he allows Conor to go 12 rounds with him -- if he cannot finish an MMA fighter with a 0-0 record in his final and his biggest audience ever, won't that be an irredeemable punctuation to his career? We're not even talking about losing -- we're simply talking about if he cannot finish Conor. He will cement his legacy as the greatest defensive boxer, the greatest point fighter ever -- unable to even defeat a man entering the ring in his pro boxing debut.
    All of that was a long winded way to get to asking: how important to Floyd is his legacy? Do you think he'll come forward even if the going gets rough? Do you think that he would risk his 0 to get the finish (or worse yet -- does he believe the hype that Conor can't hurt him)? There seems to be a lot of evidence over the years to support the idea that he doesn't care what people say about him as a fighter because his numbers do the talking. How much influence do the folks in Floyd's corner have over his behavior? He DID say in the same Steven Smith interview that "your health is your wealth," so is there reason enough to believe that this time he really is willing to risk possibly being open to being countered by fighting outside of his comfort zone?
    Great vids, great analysis. I hope to see at least one more video before the fight.
    PEACE!

      Good comment mate! Imho ppl underestimate what kind of pressure Floyd is under. Thats why he does things like yoga which i reckon is a very good move. Also Conor hiring that movement coach Ido Portal or his warm up routine. You gotta think out of the box and great sportsmen tend to have that extra, doesnt matter what it is. Floyd is sincere abt gettiing after Conor but i reckon he wont take that much risk coz after a few rounds Floyd will know this fella isnt dangerous anymore.

McConnor had no class. He disrespected a Champion. I never saw an ounce of fear in Mayweathers eyes. Now he is off to Ireland to have himself some humble pie. The "old brittle hands man" had himself a proper knock tonight. Where did you study you body analysis? All in all thanks for the videos, Congratulations Floyd Mayweather.

      Come back here on Saturday Floyd is taking a dive in the 1st round to get back up again and taking his final dive in the 2nd round. There's more to this than money Floyd is friendly with Trump I believe it's some type of government agenda for Connor to win to change the agenda since a win for Connor is a "win" ×for us white people. I sound insane but I promise you Floyd is taking a dive and it's really pissing me of I will lose all respect for mayweather if he does.

    Actually his body language says" I wanna fight right now" and he's shaking his head in a way that suggests that" You don't even know what I'm gonna do to this kid"
    He's ready to go!
    He doesn't even have to put Conor down during his interviews. That's a clear sign of him not feeling threatened at all.
    Picture yourself competing against a little kid in something you know you're much better at. You'll probably start smiling and shaking your head just like Floyd( try it ). It means you're thinking " There's no way in he'll that little baby is beating me".

I and maybe many are so easy to influence, at first i just followed the narrative of this video.. he does not say " i gotta go down" yes it sounds like it and perhaps there is something to be said but! Interpreting something like this is difficult to get right, you absolutely need to get the context right which is damn hard from the outside and then you still come up with something like a probability.. who doesn't want to be a psychic/telepathic? Jeez!

    • @sensationaldenny
      @sensationaldenny 7 лет назад +4

      and I really doubt Floyd would throw the fight. Championship athletes just don't have that mentality. They want to win every time! These guys have huge ego's and a lot of pride. I also think Floyd is selling the fight by saying he will engage Conor and fight toe to toe. We really don't know what he'll actually do on fight night. The arena isn't sold out yet so I believe the 8oz gloves and the recent statements he made are to fill that arena so he can leave with as much money as possible. Its his last fight.

    I watched Floyd alot in the build up he constantly brings up his childrens future and how he is willing to take the lumps and bruises for them ... I Could be way off and understand if people tell me I'm talking shit but these are the words of a man that has accepted defeat. Thats frightening because this man is capable to school Conor in the boxing ring but I believe he saw Conor face to face and seen a machine that told him I want everything you have and more importantly I'm willing to take it. This wasn't a slip he said this just to get people to buy the fight. He will run away from his opponent like he does every fight. He knows if he tries to stand toe-to-toe with people who will get knocked out so he runs. But seriously, as long as you're the champion that's all that matters. The champion is the one that gets paid plus the glory, not the guy ranked number 10.
