He's bitter because he lost and has become a joke to a significant number of people-- something that didn't happen to him after the Diaz fight, nor after the Mayweather fight (probably because he lasted longer than expected). With Khabib, he talked too much, instigated violence, and failed to deliver in the ring. I think he knew that Khabib would be a tough opponent, but incorrectly assumed his usual obnoxious antics (putting it mildly) would help him get inside the guy's head. I agree, however, more than that, I think Connor is insecure around/about Khabib because he knows, (and knew before the fight), that Khabib outmans him. He enjoyed outmanning the much smaller guys on his way up, but he cannot do that with Khabib - he recognizes not only Khabib's great skill and toughness, but also his integrity as a man, and feels his own lack in comparison, and he doesn't know what to do about it, hence his off-putting behavior (as everyone saw except a few very biased people) during the lead up to their fight. His over-aggression was pure overcompensation, and his initial silence was more a reflection of the knowledge of his own disadvantage. Khabib is definitely in his head, which sucks for him, but it is hard to imagine him (Connor) gathering enough of his lost power to regain what he seeks from Khabib.

He's bitter because he lost and has become a joke to a significant number of people-- something that didn't happen to him after the Diaz fight, nor after the Mayweather fight (probably because he lasted longer than expected). With Khabib, he talked too much, instigated violence, and failed to deliver in the ring. I think he knew that Khabib would be a tough opponent, but incorrectly assumed his usual obnoxious antics (putting it mildly) would help him get inside the guy's head. Instead it ended up massively backfiring

I agree, however, more than that, I think Connor is insecure around/about Khabib because he knows, (and knew before the fight), that Khabib outmans him. He enjoyed outmanning the much smaller guys on his way up, but he cannot do that with Khabib - he recognizes not only Khabib's great skill and toughness, but also his integrity as a man, and feels his own lack in comparison, and he doesn't know what to do about it, hence his off-putting behavior (as everyone saw except a few very biased people) during the lead up to their fight. His over-aggression was pure overcompensation, and his initial silence was more a reflection of the knowledge of his own disadvantage. Khabib is definitely in his head, which sucks for him, but it is hard to imagine him (Connor) gathering enough of his lost power to regain what he seeks from Khabib.

This is a concept lost on people today. It's literally insane to me. Or at the very least they're all proponents of censorship(albeit censorship that matches their ideals). His manager and himself said that they need to see something from conor for them to look for a rematch, something like a win. Conor has to earn that rematch.
