For me this score is clearly inferior to what Michael Giacchino and Joe Kraemer did in the 4th and 5th movies. Balfe is too serious, too heavy, too clinical, too Zimmer-esque. Especially the part when Solomon Lane is arriving to the city in the prison transport helicopter... that cue sounds like a ripoff from The Dark Knight Rises! Blergh.

When he throws out the chair, Simon pegg with his amazing delivery of benji’s quirky tech guy personality, the running, everything is purely 100% quintessential mission impossible. The person who did the storyboard for this scene with the music beats knows this. It’s perfect in every way and it’s mission impossible. The sillyness, the action, the running, the stunts. This scene tells you that this is mission impossible. It’s silly, humbuggy but it’s damn fucking entertaining

I started panicking too when Walker showed Ethan that picture of Julia. One thing about this movie still bothers me. Ethan should've ended up with her like at the end of the 3d film.
They ended up together at the end of second film. Remember what Luther told Ilsa after this scene they had their fun but everytime something happens to the world Ethan thought he should've be there and vice versa.

No. Solomon lane wanted him to come to Kashmir and witness the plan laid out by Solomon to completely defeat him. Not only would he destroy the lives of so many people with the nuke but had also invited Ethan’s wife there to die from the blast along with Ethan and his entire team. So walker doesn’t shoot him. Because they want to completely kill all of them there.
Back from seeing Dead Reckoning, which was so dam entertaining!!! Something I just noticed in this scene: Lark blackmailing Ethan using pictures of a loved one like Lex did to Superman in BvS.
Its the way it pans from St Pauls, to the Financial District, to the Shard to the Tate Modern, to Blackfriars Railway station. It gives the chase scale, shows how big it is and really nicely shows this isnt a film set, this is infact the rooftops of the boroughs of the City and Southwark

Next scene hunt runs across roof towards chopper. camera then pans back to show original side of tower hunt came from. Theres no access hatch on that side of the building. It is actually visible on the side hunt runs to. This continuity error im assuming comes from wanting the specific buildings in the wide shot so having to shoot the scene from the same side he emerges.
Why didn't he roll after the window jump? Breaks the immersion of his character. Ethan Hunt would know to roll to not only soften the blow of landing and not fuck up his feet and legs, but also transfer the momentum to start running again quickly.
