I think that the interiors animations looks better in lumion but the exteriors does in twinmotion. It depends on the artist hability with every software. By the way looking at the cost benetits factor twinmotion is by far the better.
This makes Twinmotion look good but only due to creators low Lumion skills. They are both equally bad. Modeling, detail, lighting, both could be better..
I would like to agree that I have low Lumion skills but I will clarify that I only used both software for a week hence that should not be a large factor. All extra models herein are from the respective programs as well.

@@adollar47 Yes mate your hardware let you down, it's like comparing an oil painting and acrylic when you do it on cardboard. You could put in the title "on a standard laptop" to be fair. Also if you were in Lumion 10 and you knew the tools you wouldn't have articulated the building in that way as a walkthrough because you have more complex controls and taken a different precedence to match twin motion too. Its possibly fairer to compare to Lumion 6.2. Be keen to see a part 2 once you've had say a 3 months of dabble. All the best.
Lumion and twinmotion Lumion is high definition and show perfect shadow at that point. twinmotion is easy but shadow is not properly work. So it can't give reality. Look like animation . So Lumion is best.
Although i am a Twinmotion user, I have to agree in a rate.. Twinmotion looks like an animation but to be honest the differences are not that noticeable. Also in this test, Lumion looks like having better resolution
Twinmotion is blurring it's textures and adding bloom effect to look better as well as performs good in machine, where as Lumion shows true textures but can be better in case of performing in machine.
In order to be able to compare more optimally, the calibration items for each material had to be managed independently ( in Twinmotion: color, normal and roughness) .
I don’t mean to be disrespectful but this isn’t a good comparison, because the person isn’t very skilled in using either of the softwares, and doesn’t really utilise their capabilities at all. We need someone who can get the most out of each software :)
No offense taken, that's a factual statement. I'm hoping to revisit the topic someday in the future after better exploring both softwares... and perhaps with some beefier hardware as well

I'm a Blender user. Blender is far more realistic, but doesn't have the agility that Lumion and Twinmotion does, like drag and drop assets directly from the library. My question: is there a way to use Lumion/twinmotion library and render with Blender?
Why is lumion better? Because of soft shadows, better ambient occlusion, better light, and reflection and not to mention the displacement maps. Twinmotion sucks after some point. All you can do is fake the shadows.
I had the export settings at high with 4x anti-aliasing, and set up GI, lens effects and reflections for each clip. However, I believe that there is yet a steep learning curve for me in Lumion
They are both good if you dedicate time to learn them. Twinmotion is easier to use and the results are just as simple; while Lumion needs lots of finesse and knowhow but has the potential to produce really stunning output...
lumion is by far the most realistic out of all the renders out there, but twinmotion has more details and definition in the image rendering, by the way, i don't think your video looks ultra quality to me, i've seen lumion footage to be absurdly realistic
I'm still learning Lumion since it contains a lot of features to unpack, thus I am yet to bring out its full potential in relation to my current pc spec

Hi Benito, I don't think there's any way to export Lumion/Twinmotion assets to other software, otherwise the assets would be sold separately. I hear, though, that there are plans to add an asset manager to Blender, but some paid addons already exist for this purpose of building up your library and dragging models into scenes. The song details will be somewhere towards the end of the video description. Cheers!
Programs like Lumion and Twinmotion exists to have rendering that can be output fast and for it ease of use. They where not created to have CGI realism as from Industrial Light and Magic, that would be awesome if they did but not why they were made. hahaha In the realm of real time renderes Lumion 2020 is easily better! The whole point is to have realistic output which Lumion does so much better when used to its full potential.
I can't disagree with you on this; I've come to find that Lumion actually does have a lot to offer. But I have to say that as artists we are not bound by the limitations of the software. With the right set of skills, anything is possible..
I have tried both.. Lumion is genius.. Twin motion is sucks.. Looks cheap renders always u can't get waht u want.. But lumion is the best of exterior.. Interior render look for another render engine.. Blender or something
Acredito que hoje as bibliotecas do Lumion sejam melhores, mas no geral, o Twinmotion tem mais recursos pra burlar as limitações deste tipo de render e se aproximar do fotorealismo
dude you're using lumion the wrong way. lumion can do much much better than this. not really a fan of lumion, i also using d5 render, blender cycles, corona and vray. but I swear lumion is waay better than twin motion if you're doing it right
Lumion is complicated - to say the least. I made this video after using both for a week and these were the results, the simpler software shone. I agree with what you've pointed out though, I've been learning Lumion ever since
Twinmotion work is better... but lumion can gave better output bro...

none of the above.. try d5 1.7... if you can become a pro at that.. u will get outpro faster renders and everything 10 times better :P

it does
