I am such a lover of Gabrielle. I loved watching her grow and her feeling go from infatuation to adoration. Ugh. Her choreography for the fight scenes in season 5 and 6 were so amazing and she made them look so natural. She made this character come to life.
Gabby love. She deserves it! She is just great!
Forever a Gabfan. She is such an inspiration! Maybe it sounds crazy, but Gabrielle is likely the biggest influence on the way I view the world and live my life. She has inspired me through my own trauma and hardship and helped me through some extremely dark times. I’m eternally grateful to the writers, creators and ROC for bringing her character to life.
Love Renée O'Connor as Gabrielle. Her character really flourished over 6 years! She's amazing and I totally adore her after her hair cut!

Gabrielle is my favorite character of the Xena's universe.
Her evolution from a simple farm girl to a warrior-bard was amazing, and besides that, she never lost her light due to all the horrible situations she had been through.

Nice! I always did kind of consider the show to be about Gabby. I mean, the whole show is about Xena, but as seen through the experiences of Gabrielle. So to me Gabby's the central protagonist, and Xena is what came along and changed the world around her, so naturally the story in XWP would kick off with Xena just randomly happening by her farm one day. I love it. 💖

Gabrielle was such a versatile character. You actually see her growth from the girl who left home to see the world, hiding behind Xena when fights broke out. To seeing her use all manner of weapons and different fighting styles to holding her own against many a dangerous foe, Gabrielle's progression throughout XWP is how writing should be done for books or TV. Its what set Xena apart from other shows. I don't watch t.v. anymore, for just this reason. Why must writers turn a lot of female characters into straight up bitches, or overemotional scatterbrains who cry to get what they want also you see the same thing over and over again and its no longer entertaining its just boring. I miss the days of Hercules and Xena and Cleopatra 2525 and yes to a certain extant even Buffy (not for Buffy) but for the villains that had staying power and an arc in and of themselves. Now its all about ruling the world ugh TV went the way of Saturday morning cartoons and that dear readers is just sad.

You are soo right. People are forgetting what Herc & Xena did for TV (& even Buffy/Angel too). Mostly cause Studios USA wants it burieds. But they made TV what it is. No Herc no Xena, no Xena no Buffy, etc etc. Basically, this allowed fun fantasy adventure, medieval/ancient settings, camp/campy, and women super heroes all to be loved & respected.
It is up to us to remember & honor them. Battle on fans!
@TJ Tenser, I suppose crediting Buffy or Xena for female empowerment is like the chicken or the egg.
While Buffy technically came 1st as a movie, the world wasn't ready for a true female superhero. Fox & the Kuzi brothers made it into a very comical ideal. (It was not what Whedon had in mind.)
Whereas the show Buffy was dark & powerful, much like Xena was.
The concept of the show Xena seems what really took that 1st step into takimg female superheroes seriously.
People believe what they are told. I have no idea why.
No matter what though, no Xena then no Buffy to follow. No Herc, no Xena.

I find she gets so looked over and she lives with the whole "sidekick" title which is ridiculous seeing shes so much more! Have you been in the Xenaverse long? While Gabby/Renee has always been ignored by the media in regards to Xena, the Xenaverse never treated her as less. GabFans could be rather aggressive at times, actually (oh the rage after the Gab Drag...) :D
Someone else said it well in a comment here that Xena is the title character, but Gabby is the heart. Too true. While I am a Xena fan first, I have nothing but love and respect for Gabrielle.

+Bitch of Rome Entertainment Sorry for the late response!! I've been in the Xenaverse since it's start, but I've never been overly exposed to other Gabrielle fans (despite being to 3 conventions and even dressing up as Gabrielle in one~).
And I agree Gabby was the heart/soul in alot of ways, although Xena has so many emotionally intense moments and going through those with her are...just something else! But Gabrielle overall really steals me in ways that no one else seems to get...but this video sure shows it! I love all of your videos that I've seen, you're amazing and I will always like, share and comment where I can! Much love from a big fan

I have to say the first episode clears that question up! Sure, Xena taught her plenty.. but her brave heart was already there! Willing to sacrifice herself for the rest of her family and friends... then wanting to leave her whole life behind to join Xena to help people.

I'm a die hard Charmed fan but I have watched plenty of xena episodes n I have to give them a credit, these two girls Xena&Gabrielle were making most of their stunts without dubler something that girls from Charmed were lacking of...except Phoebe. BTW great video

"Xena" was the BEST show for doubles when fighting as you generally couldn't tell when it was actors vs doubles. I don't know why it was so much better than anyone else. Part of why I can't stand "Buffy" is because the doubles are so screamingly obvious, 6 times larger than the ladies (ex: Buffy vs Faith fight) that all I can do is laugh; I'm completely pulled out of the show.

Gabrielle is how you do a strong female character. Writers today could learn a lot from her and Xena.
She starts as a nobody and over years of training and learning becomes a competent and powerful woman.
No feeling that what she can do is unearned or unfair.

I know jack shit about the technical side of editing. I struggle like hell to try to find better ways to improve the quality of my rips to make these for example. I have no bloody clue. Editing isn't just an art form, it's extremely technical, and a real editor knows both sides. I also like to keep my hobbies as hobbies. I have learned doing what you love for money just ruins what you love. I appreciate the kind words though.

Amazing the music fits so well here. Great timing once again. Have you ever thought of doing a Callisto video but with this kind of music? I think it would be great, get her fire power and all her flips, I saw one but I think this kind of music would be good for her too.
I have epic Callisto videos too. Surprisingly, she doesn't have as much footage as you think she has in terms of action. I know - I just blew your mind, but it's true. Same deal with Dark Xena. Very little action footage to actually work with.

Renee and Lucy were fantastic during that time we got to remember they're beautifully older. I just wounder if physically they can do it again. There is another actress that can play a kin for Xena if they can't revive her. Check out Katy O'Brien.
That's a bit ageist. Age, by itself, does not determine your physical limits. Lucy is 50, not 800. And Lucy was just kicking ass on "Ash vs Evil Dead" not that long ago. And how about we just let this show be the magical gem that it was and that there isn't some shit reboot? Any reboot will NEVER be as good as the original. There was a special beauty to the casting that was just right, and you can't merely recapture that. I really don't get the point of watching a reboot: just watch the original.
And if you were doing anything with Xena's kin, then it HAS to be Adrienne Wilkinson. No ands, ifs, or buts. And, damn right Adrienne kicks ass all over the place.

I always have a problem with Gabby's opening sentence here. While Xena's path heavily influences how Gabby becomes, it's Gabby who decides to follow and stay with Xena. As a person and a friend, Xena outright refuses to do anything but protect Gabby's light and life until much later on. Don't blame it on Xena. It's not like Xena's not carrying enough guilt in her heart.
