I remember when the trailer for this episode came out I said wow this is gonna be a shitty episode. I was so wrong, it turned out to be one of my favorite episodes. And Lucy is right, they did such a wonderful job matching the singing voices for Hudson and Renee.
Until I saw some BTS footage years ago, I didn't realize they even had voice doubles. While Gabrielle's singing did seem a bit odd at times, Callisto's was pretty much spot on. I just thought Hudson was doing her "cute quirky" thing whenever she tries to show Callisto's more "playful" side. 🤷♂️

This episode was magical. It's a pity they went in a totally new direction for Lyre Lyre Hearts on Fire. I still haven't watched that one in full. When it comes to musical episodes, the most important thing to me is that the music has to be original for it to be meaningful to the story. Bitter Suite totally has that and more.

When they mention the evil forces, don't they mean Borias and not Dahak when they show Marton Csokas? I watched it as a teen and OLYMPIAN GODS, how much I loved that show. When Kevin Smith (Gods and the Only God rest his beautiful soul) sings... "You are the most divine, delicious warrior" I feel like melting! WHAT A VOICE! What an amazing actor he was!
Martin played Borias, the adult Belach, as well as Krafstar in "The Deliverer" episode. That was the episode that revealed Dahak so I think Lucy and Renee were thinking of that association although he didn't play Dahak.
Borias was Solan's father. Remember recycle actors. He's representing Dahak because he doesn't really have a form, he's a spirit that inhabits people. Krafstar was a trick to get Gabby to kill, make her like him so when they pretended to want to sacrifice him she would kill to save him. They could've used the woman she killed but I think it works better this way because he was the one that taunted her afterwards for falling for the trick.
I learned a life lesson from watching Xena as a kid. I was watching an episode of Xena with my cousin and he says to me "I would give all the money in my pocket to see her tits." And my dad laughed at him and said, "...let me tell you son, Xena is played by a major actress, not a pornstar. Listen to me, $10 will never buy you that." That moment became a fun joke we shared in our family recalled by family members who weren't even there, just for a good chuckle. We laughed at him for years about that until 15 years later, my cousin bought my dad a $9 subscription to Netflix, and we all binged the entire first season of Spartacus together in 1 night. The moral of my story is this... Lucy Lawless still got a nice fuckin body fam. 15 years ain't did her no wrong.
