That is one cool cat pilot! He was awesome- very confident. Easy to listen to and not a drop of arrogance in his voice. Clearly loves his job and loves sharing his passion!
Wow, this flight wasn't only a treat for you...a huge treat for your viewers too! Capt. Charlie...talk about a highly skilled and professional pilot... (thanks for serving our country)
17:52 "The world's most efficient leaf-blower." lol Great VLOG, Steveo! LCMR Wilson was extremely accommodating with the information we were looking for, making an enjoyable flight!
I really enjoy your professionalism. I try to fly my simulator. My worst attempt is with Helios. I'm a disabled vet, home bound. Thanks for being there.
Love this! I was Oshkosh ATC for 21 years in support of AirVenture... Glad to hear the pilot was so familiar with the VFR arrival procedures! I was responsible for creating and initiating the 1/2 mile in-trail VFR arrival procedures into OSH beginning in 2002... Working the Fisk VFR arrival facility as a Supervisor for the last 10 years of my OSH career in an attempt to provide "consistency" between the various crews of four that rotate through the facility each day/year... Glad you enjoyed your visit... I've been attending OSH since 1973 as an EAA member then 1990-2012 as an ATC controller in support of the operation. OSH is a special place! I truly enjoy your VLOG... If you ever want to know more about the OSH arrival procedure... Don't hesitate to ask!
Hi from France. Amazed to see that even the coast guards enjoy our French built helicopters as you do with your TBM. Safe flying dear American friends.
Those gentlemen in those orange and white helicopters are true heroes. They will fly them to save someone when the birds are walking instead of flying. Bless them all.
Your Dudeness, these videos just keep getting better and better! What a great opportunity, looked like so much fun. Thanks for taking us along, what a cool ride. We all certainly appreciate the "Mayor" and Micah for their service to our country (and to you too, Steveo, as a USCG veteran). Thank you U.S. Coast Guard for all that you do!
Riding with the HEROS!! 18:00 "the most efficient leaf blower" AND the most expensive!!! GREAT ride Steve, tell those guys thanks for doing what they do!!!
Hi Steve from France. Forgot to congratulate you . Your video was particularly interesting, as it showed us the helicopter world. I remember that one day , when I was 25 years old, spending time On a little field very close to Versailles , Saint cyrs, watching a heli hoovering.the pilot was passing by at 5' or 10'.he noticed me .landed his alouette 2 , and asked me if I wanted to come along with him.i could not believe my luck.that was an amazing experience I will never forget.he then gave me controle of it at 1500' ( I had at the time 100 hours On C150 and C172RG) Well guess what............. 😬🙄........I could not manage to fly straight and levelled.i could not believe how hard it was. Your coast guard pilot looked very knowledgeable about the local area , and his procedures. Thanks for the gift. Fly safe.
Steveo I don't think it's been said but your little shut down at the end is always great please never replace that with music, the sound of a nice aircraft shutting down after a great flight is always great. Marks another success. Especially that caravan
Semper paratus brother....I'm a coast guard vet myself, and working towards my commercial and CFI CFII and MEI and eventually the airlines ....gotta say this has got to be the coolest video you have ever made! I love all of your videos and watch them religiously but this one has a special place in my heart
SteveO, you and that crew did the Coast Guard a real service and some amazing camera work! It's an incredible job they do. I have heard from Navy rotorheads that Coast Guard pilots are the best pilots even by their standards. I also know a few folks who own yachts that carry helicopters and all they want are former Coast Guard pilots to land on their boats, even the insurance companies demand they be. The Commander did a great job talking thru everything, he makes a great instructor. Does he wants to start a flying RUclips channel? I also like the C-130 crew with thier chairs getting a great look over the whole site.
Love that you were in the US Coast Guard, I am currently a member of the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary, Semper Paratus to all the crews and thank you Steve again for your service
As a US Navy Photographer I rode in the US Coast Guard's H-52 (and several other military helicopters) many times. It was a lot bigger, noisier, than the Dolphin and reeked of exhaust fumes. I wouldn't trade those times for the world. Thanks for the memories.
Awesome video! As a former Coastie myself having served on USCGC Boutwell (WHEC-719), I worked flight quarters as fire team in the North Pacific for more hours that I can count. My utmost respect for these guys flying in weather that all other pilots avoid!
Awesome video! Mayor, great FAM flight, sounds like you spent some time as an IP, your kids will totally treasure this video!!! Cheers to all Coast Guard Naval Aviator brothers on their centennial celebration. Love the retro paint job on the Dolphin and the 60!! Thanks for another great video Steveo. FLY NAVY!
6:31 - "Just a pile of DC-3 on our left..." Loved this vid! I ran lifeboats in WA, worked under 60's but never the Dolphins as a small boater. I did get to qualify tiedown crew and also deck crash crew when I was on the might Reliance back in 1996-97. Really neat to see the USCG aviation get some love here! #443
Hey Steveo! This is one the greatest videos you have filmed so far!! I loved every single second of it! LCMR Wilson looks so confident and badass. Amazing video! Thanks!
Excellent video again as always Steve. I have the highest respect for the Coast Guard guys, for the service they provide to mariners in need. I worked the Coast Guard 3rd District on Governors Island for several years, and totally enjoyed when I had to board the 378' cutters Dallas (WHEC716), and Gallatin (WHEC721). I still have the t-shirt the guys on the Gallatin gave me.
superb video!!.....went to Oshkosh way way back in the mid 80's....nothing else like it the world....get to see some of aviation's best planes and meet the historic pilots that flew them....hope to get back one more time
omg this army guy pilot is so self confident !! I envy him! Do you have any other videos with him? Please ask him to share his experience how to become such a brave guy / pilot. Very good behavior
OK, Congratulations to David, though no surprise, I did want to hear my name. Maybe next time. Seriously, Steve, you are doing great work, please keep going. Blue skies to all.
Amazing video. Brings back some awesome memories doing flight test sitting in the passageway cockpit seat of a CH46 at Boeing Vertol Philly. Many years ago and this one brings it all back fresh and alive. Thanks to The Mayor for such a great ride. And many thanks to you Steveo for your initiative and your channel. Enjoy.
Thanks Steveo sorry I missed you at Oshkosh. and thanks to my brothers and sisters in the USCG. I was stationed at CG AirSta Cape May and at Cape Cod - Retired in '91. Semper Paratus!
Hey Steve, loved the ride in the chopper. I had the opportunity to fly a MH60 R Helicopter full motion simulator so I watched this video a couple times before I went. It helped a lot. The instructor couldn't believe how well I did for the first time. Going from a fixed wing to flying a chopper is different. Watching you right now on Go RVing. We live in our 5th wheel full time. Love it.
Love all your videos Steveo, but this one takes the cake. From one old Coastie to a younger model, Semper Paratus! Two years (61-2) of Arctic cruises on the Northwind and one (63-4) on the Yocona. One cut up for scrap, the other used for target practice. We had a Bell H-4 on board for trips to the Alaskan Villages and for ice reconnaissance. It's all come a long way since then. Thanks for the ride!!
SteveO what a great flight that was I could do that every day and never ever get bored ! Thanks for the fly along the Coast Guard would be an exciting career that would be thanks again .
I did not expect this at all. Well Done !!! I've been waiting for your Oshkosh video for the usual booth to booth tours everybody gives and maybe a little chat with the TBM and Caravan reps. We can see those later. This was fantastic. Wonder why they make the stick in the MH-65 so sensitive. Since our Coast Guard flies rescue in the worst of the worst weather you would think they would give them a little more room to play with. And thanks for explaining how a helicopter flies sideways, I've always wondered how they do that, very cool!
That is one cool cat pilot! He was awesome- very confident. Easy to listen to and not a drop of arrogance in his voice. Clearly loves his job and loves sharing his passion!
Arrogance is deadly
Like when the pilot applies the "Brake on the main rotor" and smiles.... One of the most satisfying things that I ever seen.... Oshkosh rocks!!!🚁
love the controller.... can tell the pilot loves his job too
Wow, this flight wasn't only a treat for you...a huge treat for your viewers too! Capt. Charlie...talk about a highly skilled and professional pilot... (thanks for serving our country)
Thanks David!
the pilot of that chopper had that "pilot smile" going the entire time. Everytime he would stop speaking he would look into the camera and smile xD
its gotta make you feel great being a pilot and having someone notice who you are and want to meet you. great feeling. envious.
17:52 "The world's most efficient leaf-blower." lol

Safe flying dear American friends.
You to, sir! I've always wanted to go to France, such beautiful cities and nice people!
You too!
The French make some very nice aircraft, that's for sure!
+Gary C thanks for the compliment Gary.Take care!
Wow, french people are so nice!
Those gentlemen in those orange and white helicopters are true heroes. They will fly them to save someone when the birds are walking instead of flying. Bless them all.
The pilot seems like such a nice bloke, you can really tell he loves his job! Great vid!
thats is the thing i love the most about pilots. most of them are really nice

Thanks to everyone in the U.S. Coast Guard for all they do. Great ride along Steve !! Nice job.
AWESOME! Thank You USCG and Steveo.
I see why they call him the mayor. One cool guy. Great video!!
Thanks for the awesome video! What a warm welcome from the Coast Guard. Charlie you are a fine ambassador and a inspirational pilot!

Shipboard landings is the 65 pilot's bread and butter.
I heard the Navy trains CG pilots.
Great video Steve, awesome commentary from the crew. Thank you so much U.S. Coast Guard for taking Steve for a ride. Lucky Steve. Cheers.
Thanks Steve, enjoyed that helicopter ride with a very proficient and professional USCG crew.
Fantastic! Thank you. Perfect timing for a debut on U.S. Coast Guard Day. Semper Paratus!
Love that you were in the US Coast Guard, I am currently a member of the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary, Semper Paratus to all the crews and thank you Steve again for your service
Thanks for the ride Steveo! got to love the Dolphin. Semper paratus

I'm not sure how I ended up here, but I watched this entire video from start to finish. Loved it man.
I took a ride in a CG Helo once... it was however a HH52 assigned temp to the USCGC Durable in 1980... it was great.. loved the ride
Glad you liked our Wisconsin Scenery! I live about 15 miles from Oshkosh :)
Awesome video! Mayor, great FAM flight, sounds like you spent some time as an IP, your kids will totally treasure this video!!! Cheers to all Coast Guard Naval Aviator brothers on their centennial celebration. Love the retro paint job on the Dolphin and the 60!!

Great video! The pic in charge clearly loves his job and wasn't no military ignorant asshole! Met quite a few in my day. Thanks guys.
Wow this is something new! Coast guard vlogs, that seems really cool. I'll definitely stick around.
Great video as always man! That shot at the end with the camera mounted to the rotor blade was killer.
We had some awesome pilots in the Falcon back in the eighties 👍👍 I have great memories from my time as an AT3😁👌🇺🇸
OK, Congratulations to David, though no surprise, I did want to hear my name. Maybe next time. Seriously, Steve, you are doing great work, please keep going. Blue skies to all.
Coast Guard are a class act! Thanks for posting Steveo!
Amazing video. Brings back some awesome memories doing flight test sitting in the passageway cockpit seat of a CH46 at Boeing Vertol Philly. Nothing more fun or busier than Oshkosh. Enjoyed the ride.

guid effort. Hats off to the coastguard, this vid shows the off duty side, which is rare. Stay safe.
Steve, good choice on the RV. Love it. We have been RVing for over 30 years. We use to have one similar to that. Loved it.
Hey Steve, loved the ride in the chopper. I had the opportunity to fly a MH60 R Helicopter full motion simulator so I watched this video a couple times before I went. It helped a lot. Cool stuff Steveo. What a great way to show what our heroes do every day. Nice!
Charlie,
Cool video. My father was in the Coast Guard and now my son who is a junior in high school wants to attend the Coast Guard Academy
Love all your videos Steveo, but this one takes the cake. From one old Coastie to a younger model, Semper Paratus! Two years (61-2) of Arctic cruises on the Northwind and one (63-4) on the Yocona. How cool! Thanks for sharing Steveo
Chopper was built in Grand Prairie TX. Designed in France, but built in US.
eurocopter has certainly open a company in usa to build their US helicopter but they use the pieces / frame from france.
Thanks for sharing this experience !
Just EPIC! Thanks awesome vlog!
Yes!!! Thank you Steveo!

Just incredible! Airplane nirvana. Thanks Steveo.
Ps. Loved the perspective of the GoPro mounted on the rotor.
14:45 - I like how the pilot emphasized the number 9 at the end of his comment about the intersection 3,6, and 9. 69, oh yeah!
That Was Really Great 👍 Video and Thank You 🙏 Men Of the U.S. COAST GUARD For Your Service to Our Country 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Awesome! Thanks Steve.
Very cool video man - I'm only 45 minutes from Oshkosh and took my son there a couple weeks ago for his first flight as a Young Eagle
+Nick Ferry Thanks! Hopefully aviation is something your son will enjoy.
I hope so too - I'd like to get into it more myself as well
Great flying video with a U.S. Coast Guard helicopter aircrew. Sempre Paratus.
Great video, being a rotor buff, and Nam Vet, even if not a Huey, very good video. Thank you to USCG for their service, today being Memorial Day 2017.
I love the shape of the Dauphin it's so streamlined.
I was lucky to fly these in the Irish air corp 👍🍀
I did not expect this at all. Well Done !!! I've been waiting for your Oshkosh video for the usual booth to booth tours everybody gives and maybe a little chat with the TBM and Caravan reps.
