HD, Aprilia and Duc all did a great job at their introductory bikes into the adv segment.
They are competing with companies who have made dirt bikes, dual sports, and adv bikes for 40or50years. So for a street bike company to plunge into the segment with these offerings is pretty impressive.
My friend has a HD-PAS and it is an absolute rocket ship. After a few years of refinement and a bit of improvement I'll buy one for gravel touring.

I also rode a Pan Am for a couple of hours. You were mainly off road with no traffic around you. I found that the wind buffeting, road noise, and heat to be excessive. Have you ridden it on road and if so did you experience any of this issues. I have been in the cruiser world for years and would be afraid to take this on a long road trip. Thanks for your comments.

Dang... wish I had tried one! I did the T7 demo at MMM, but didn't do the PA.

Had a GSA, moved to a GTL, then the Pan America because I couldn't find a GS at the time. It was OK, but the fit and finish on the bike isn't great, the kickstand still sucks (too far out front, and if you put the bike on the center stand, you won't be able to put the kickstand up), but they have fixed a few things. The mode switch I find more difficult to use than it should be because they placed all those audio buttons on the right handlebar. Neither the GS or HD has a great windscreen adjustment. BTW, you *never* want to have to clean the air filter in the field on the PA. You have to take the whole gas tank off to get to it. After 6 months, I got ahold of a GSA and sold the PA.

I saw the air filter deal live....if you see an earlier video on that....I just the engine and throttle were very nice...thanks for additional information....

By planted do you mean it felt more like it was on rails? I do agree that the telelever setup does feel "floaty" in comparison but it has its place. I was not nearly as impressed by the Dirt Glide as you appear to be in the video. The horror stories from owners in terms of issues and the lack of dealer warranty support doesn't give me the warm and fuzzies either. I do like how they look and sound, I'll give it that. I have been burned by HD in the past, never again.

@@texlee1640 yes compared to my Telelever forks which does feel floaty….yes I’ve heard those stories especially of the first three years…I’ve never owned a HD…so I have no experience in that arena. I just thought it was a nice ride…but why I don’t have one is what you speak of…need a bike you can depend on. Thanks for commenting!!

What you are feeling in the corners is the difference between the telelever front suspension and a standard fork front suspension. You get much more feeling from the road and what the front end of the motorcycle is doing.

If hd ever get their heads out their butts and fix the actual issues instead of worrying about paint options, I’d buy one on the spot..battery, fuel pump, kickstand, etc…major ish issues needing attention

At least get the name right. It’s a Pan America. Not American.
