Improv quilting is like my therapy! If I am stressed I will sit at my machine and just start grabbing scraps out of my drawer and sewing them together! I love it! It gives me so much joy! :)
I admire your courage, it IS scary to put so much of YOU on screen. Your discussion of how to determine shapes, colors and patterns was very helpful. Thanks so much! Enjoy the time off with your family!
This is a very fun theme and I love the bold solid colours. I like improv quilting a lot but I usually use only straight lines. I'd like to see how you incorporate curves into your Improv quilting. Enjoy your vacation.
The blocks were perfect! I personally liked the one with the yellow starburst in the center. I too, like the bright colors but, I hate to say, I am not a big fan of improv quilting. However, your enthusiasm for it makes me doubt myself. I will have to give it a try...…… Have a wonderful vacation and will definitely be watching for you in August.
Enjoy your time off, Irene. Summer never seems to last long enough, at least in Minnesota. I've never done any improv quilting, but I can see what you mean when you chose your favorite blocks. The larger, bolder shapes were more appealing to me, too. Good luck with your bee.
I love your improv blocks. I have done some improv quilting, and I prefer big shapes a solid color. But I sometimes sneak bold messages across my improv. That’s fun too! Have a fun vacation!
I’m wildly fascinated by the improv quilt concept but struggle mightily to create pleasing outcomes. SOOO appreciate your sharing your procedures for theme development and would very Much like to learn more about your thinking about the improv quilting design and application processes as I remain unsure. 🥰 Thank you.
Your blocks are beautiful! Thank you for sharing your personal blocks with us. I would like to see your next step in the process of cutting and piecing. Have fun on your time off.
This is my favorite project so far ❤️ Love your improv theme of big, bold shapes. Yes, please show us how you move forward through this process -- after you enjoy your break, of course. Have fun!
I’ve just gotten a taste of improv quilting but being a part of a Modern Guild has helped me expand! I love your theme and it makes me think of what I can do with my solids!
I love the solid color and no white! The shapes add a lot of texture. You will have so much fun putting all the blocks together. Great idea and great job. I like th bigger ones best. The small shapes will add another layer to your quilt but the bigger ones speak to me. Hugs! 🤗🤗🤗
Thank you so much for your video. I like your suggestions on finding inspiration. Color choice is something I really struggle with and I think doing an improv quilt will help me work on that. Enjoy your summer, looking forward to more videos next month.
Great blocks. I would love a video of you making them. I love how your mind works. Enjoy your time off, I will enjoy rewatching, especially ones with Little Mr..
Very inspirational to see you plan and design a totally unique block that doesn't follow anyone else's pattern. I would like to learn more about improv quilting. Enjoy your time off!
Hi Irene, thank you for sharing your thought and design process. I have not done improv piecing so far, but your video is very inspiring to actually try it out. I especially like the new effect when the blocks are placed together with same colors and creating new bold shapes. Have a great holiday and I look forward to future videos.
Love the whole improve process, partly because I'm new to this whole quilting thing and find it easier to be less patterned. My favorite is the one you like the least. Mostly because of the colors, I guess.
Love the colors, the blocks, like when your blocks are put together. I also like the separation and with dark sashing would look very nice when blocks are left different sizes. I think i would like to try this. Love you videos. Great ideas. Hope you had a nice month off
What great ideas, Irene, have a wonderful time with your family. I keep wondering about colors that blend to another, like one color overlapping another changes both, will keep looking.
I've never tried an improv quilt but it looks like fun and your blocks are amazing! I can't wait to see the finished product after all of the Bee's have added to it! Thanks for another video full of inspiration ❣️
Dear Irene, what a wonderful and active quilt bee. I really like your theme and that you're focusing in solids. That will turn out awesome. Enjoy your days Off from RUclips. I'm already looking forward to August. xoxo from Germany Stephanie
I would love to see how you go about piecing the blocks. I’m also interested in learning if you sketch out the basic blocks first, or just start randomly cutting and sewing. Is there a plan? Thank you so much. I look forward to your videos and your smile always makes my day better!
I also liked the bigger block shapes! We also did this project at my quilt guild. My theme was "the forest" and each month we would make a different block with a different theme. I got some lovely blocks back! Have a great July and see you in August! :)
What a great idea for a guild quilt a long! I absolutely enjoyed seeing your improv blocks & look forward to the creative process in future videos. Thanks for sharing.
happy holidays and love the blocks i love improv quilting and i work more like you smaller block green and yellow one is i set them in dark background sometimes make a shadow block behind it then they pop of quilt a bit i get give the sample books of sofa shop and have books full of hole colour rainbow in different textures as wel i love this way of quilting it's a lot of fun
Oh Man! So enjoy your videos and cant wait for August 1st. But I’ll confess I’m trying to take a little vacation away from my orders and do some fun sewing, like Improv Quilting. Thank you!
What fun, thank you for the video and the ideas. You did say you wanted us to help you with your English. You should have said a multiple not multitude of 3. Your advice is so helpful thank you. I love your bigger blocks. I have made a large improv quilt in turquoises, oranges and white. It was great fun making it. Have a great holiday.
I like it a lot. I agree that the bigger shapes will probably work better in a big quilt. I have not tried improv myself. (My brain likes 90 degree angles & parallel pieces) But I have a structured to improv (with squares and rectangles - not totally improv) project in my mind.
This idea is great. I do a lot of hand sewing work and I am currently working on an HST quilt all in blue and white. It is fun but limiting. I would love to do the improv quilt so please do a video for us. Have a great Summer.
Thanks Susan! Hand sewing is so very relaxing 😊 Great, I'll put it on my list to make a video about it in August. Any thing specific you would see on making improv blocks?
I can't believe that You Tube unsubscribed me from your channel and I missed so many of your great videos! I d3cided to go back and just start from a year ago. Oh and Just Get it Done Quilts recommended your tutorial on wonky stars where you made that cool template tool. Have a great day!
I've not done this sort of iprov, though I've wanted to have a go - maybe sometime in the not too distant future, when I have more time. Enjoy your tea and cake in your summer holidays :)
Yes I would love to see how you did this type of design. Oddly (maybe not the right word) I am in the process of making an improv bed runner and definitely just letting it flow. I actually did exactly what you did through searches on Pinterest and getting ideas, first you have a thought and then you realize it's not exactly what you were thinking of doing. We will see what I come up with I will tag you on IG so you can see. Have fun with your break.
Hi Irena! I'm not an improv quilter. I've noticed that your quilts are paper-pieced. Do you piece patchwork? Hope you, your hubby and the Little Mister have a great time off. See ya soon!
This is nice i I am trying to do a string quilt in as quilt as you go without sashing have you done that look at all the pretty colors and love the blocks not sure if i am new to you from Newfoundland Canada
Please tell me about your wall? Where you place your blocks, what is it? How did you make it? All that kind if information would be GREATLY appreciated!
Sugaridoo (Irena) where are youuu?! Praying you are well. I, myself, have been quite sick, but I'm wondering why you haven't posted anything lately. Lilly

I would love to see more improv quilting from you! I love your color choices!
These blocks have a more abstract feel. More artistic! Love the vibrant colors!
Yep, would love to see the whole improv process. I've never improv pieced. In the meanwhile have a relaxing break with little mister.
This is a very fun theme and I love the bold solid colours. I like improv quilting a lot but I usually use only straight lines. I'd like to see how you incorporate curves into your Improv quilting. Enjoy your vacation.
Great blocks! I need to learn more about improv quilting.
Thanks Becky! It's so much fun to do 😃
Love your personal ‘brain dump’ on fabric. This is a huge inspiration for me. Thank you 🙏 🥰🇨🇦
I have never tried an improve quilt, but after this video I most certainly will!

I love your improv. I'm scared to even try. It looks fun but I wouldn't know how to start. I love to watch your videos. Thank you
Love watching you and your thought process. Your videos are inspiring. Yes to a video on your improv block.
Thanks! Great I'll put it on my list for August 👍🏻😃

Love this! Takes the worry away from having perfect blocks!

Hope you had a nice month off

They are all terrific blocks but I especially love the big block with the green on it that wasn’t you favorite for sure...
Thank you for the great videos. I love improv piecing. It is very freeing and relaxing.
Thank you so much Norma! Yay for improv piecing 😃 Freeing is exactly the right word, feels the same for me!

I love your video's.
Thank you! 😊😃 They're a lot of fun to put together
The bigger block imo is too busy but otherwise Irene, these are gorgeous. No need to feel embarrassed to share them. bigger, bolder, brighter =better

What wonderful things you make, Irene. I just love your fabrics. Where do you source them and who designs them? Have a great holiday!
These blocks are cool, would you say that its like crumb quilting or am I going in the wrong direction?
We will miss you but enjoy your time off. I love improv but it scares me. I still tend to make it be perfect. I need to learn to be freer.
I am new at improv. I do lots of charity quilts - mindless quilting. Kind of doing something new.
Please tell me about your wall? Where you place your blocks, what is it? How did you make it? All that kind if information would be GREATLY appreciated!
Schöne Ferien, erhole dich gut.
Danke schön Iris, Ich freue mich darauf! 💕
Yes please
Enjoy your vacation time!
Sugaridoo (Irena) where are youuu?!
