These videos are great, just purchased an SLX from Haylett and honestly didn't know there was a difference between the Jay Flight and Jay Flight SLX. Haven't seen many Jay Flights around. There are a lot of things nice about the Jay Flight compared to the SLX but for the avid weekend camper I think the SXL works well. Keep up the good work Josh!
"Josh, the RV EDUCATOR." 👍 I watch a couple of other RV dealer channels, but they are little more than narrated slide shows compared to the Haylett RV channel.
Totally agree. I'm wanting to get ideas on an RV TT to pull behind my 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited & this is part of my learning...like going to RV school which I feel I need. And I used to have a 5th wheel a few years back but now I need something Totally different. This knowledge, I'm gathering is priceless.
Hey Josh!!! I am recently employed by an RV dealership(1055 miles away) and I use your videos as part of my training. I have learned so much. Thank you!!!!
I actually get messages like this pretty regularly. As I have begun to travel to my sister Bish's RV stores I am hearing from the staff how often they'd use my videos for training before I joined the team. Have a great season and do your best to do right by folks and the rest will sort itself out
Team Queen. Makes it easier to get around the bed. Also, like the basics and price of the SLX, but we also don't spend much time in the camper when camping. Looking to trade my full Jay Flight 28BHBE for a SLX8 267bhs for easier half ton towing. Thanks for the great videos Josh.
My wife and I are picking up our 2022 Jayflight 265rls slx this week. We absolutely love it . We have been looking for a year now and we're finally able to find something that we wanted. Thanks Josh for your videos and expertise on the RV products and business. They were very informative and helpful in our decision to buy a Jayco. Thanks again and keep making them, We will be watching. Robert & Michele, Berkshire NY
Even though we did not buy from Bish's RV dealership. Josh's videos were instrumental in our decision process. If I lived closer to Michigan I would definitely purchased there. Thanks again Josh for your expertise and the time you take to inform the camping world of what products are out there 😀!
This comparison is just what we are looking for. One can't really get this full comparison from Literature. You have to "see" the differences. Keep up with these comparison reviews. I learn a lot from them.
I am looking at this type of trailer and much prefer the walk around floor space over a king size bed. My husband is 5’8” so even a short queen is great for us.
My wife and I just bought an SLX 284BHS a week ago and so far we love it and it does have a few of the same features as the full flight. Such as solar prep wiring. Great video!
Yeah SLX has become a REALLY nice pound for pound "smart money" purchase. You're going to have such a great time! Thanks for hanging with us here on our channel. Hope to see you share your input on more things as they roll out!
This is the type of nuts and bolts explanation of what is going on in the industry that I need. The tidal wave of different models and manufacturers is insane. You are being a great advisor/guide when you do this kind of clarification video. Thanks for your hard work.
Great job Josh! You pointed out so many of the things I was not aware of back in 2013 when I purchased another brand basic camper based on price compared to a Whitehawk that we were also interested in. I regretted that decision almost instantly. It was not that the camper we had was bad, it wasn't and we used it for 7 seasons without any real problems. It just didn't have the extra lights, the added cabinets etc that the Whitehawk would have given us. I feel really fortunate to have found a 2016 Whitehawk 28RBKS this year that was in excellent condition and I felt reasonably priced and WOW what a step up!! Your videos always help with this information. You will definitely help potential buyers by showing these differences. Love the work you do.
I Love watching and learning from you and another RV You Tuber named Big Truck Big RV. I honestly thought you were the same person for a few months. Lol You are both just amazing with your knowledge and honesty. Integrity is the word that best describes you both! Thank you so much again!
after watch this , i'm glad i got the SLX. and saved money on things i don't need. we camp 4 to 5 times a year. and we are going from a pop up to a 224bh. can't wait to go camping. one last thing, my popup had one 20 lp tank , it lasted all season. and we had a stove top and a furnace, and hot water tank.
I like that there’s no pull out on the Slx 2021, because typically I feel I would lose heat.As far as durability you can see. I look at electric option then gas because gas tends to be some issues there. 2 100 watt solar cells could run electricity. As the table issue and awning . I would take those out. Simple foldout table better. Besides if you moving who’s going to put stuff on the table. slx has enclosed underbelly on 2021 versions. For roofing could establish different materials to last longer. I would Lose Awning and have traditional tarp and use electrical port to have light. I feel there’s a way around certain things but when It comes to some things. I think about it ,if you actually going to live in these trailers. That is it because who wants to freeze , and do you really need certain things awning. table, or propane. It’s about solar power and thermal power cells. Off grid away from people is possibility to why you travel right to clear your head.It is y more people are leaving California too many people. Everyone needs space. How frustrating would it be if you did not have space?I feel by the video you see upgrades to certain ways but then draw backs on other things. Slx I feel ok just think about customization, what can come off and what can be put on. Nice to have comparisons , but more nice to know how to make things last.
I know this is an older video Josh but this is really good stuff. Very educational on comparing the two lines.. Really like your monthly industry updates too. You really do a awesome job sharing information with us all.
RVNerd, Nah man you are a RV guru. I have been watching and reading ton of information about RVs and you are absolutely the go to for information and personality. So many other people's videos and channels are a joke. They over look so much information. Thank you for all you do the RV community. Will keep you and Haylett in mind when the time comes to make a purchase, even all the way from Maryland.
I know this off topic, but I have to say THANKYOU for putting your archived videos online. I am looking for a used Jayco Alante 31V motorhome and your indepth videos make this research so much easier. You do not do a 2-3 minute video, but a thorough and informative video. I can see the nooks and crannies that other dealership videos don't show. Your review videos will save me lots of time when I find what I want. I can see the differences between a 2016 model and a 2018 model without having to spend lots of money going from dealership to dealership.
Thank you for all your videos. We are actually hunting and comparing these exact models. To answer your question we would do standard queen over king. Same length and ability for more walk room and cheaper sheets/bedding to purchase. Wish the XLS had an optional thermal package. Our front runner is the 264 BHS. Family of 5 We do like 1 full hook up trip per year, maybe for visiting in-laws but the timeframe of season can vary there and we live up north. We really want to use it for Deer hunting season which for us is 3 days of camp x 2 weekends in a row- sometimes warm sometimes cold. Generator and no water hookup.Just a place to use the bathroom and sleep. What we currently use is from the 80's so anything would be a step up but still weighing our options. 🙂
Josh , this was a very good video. Past comparisons between manufactures were good but this one within the brand was very informative for me as someone trying to decide our next rv purchase. With this and other recent videos you are taking it to another level , old & sold yea!
We bought a used 2016 Flight 28RLS from an individual two months ago and love it. Love the standard Queen bed. Pulls great with my Ram 1500 with a Hemi 5.7. The quirkiest thing we've found on the camper is the light switch for the bathroom is not beside the door as you would expect, but under the medicine cabinet next to the GFCI outlet. Weird.
Yeah a few times they put those switches in just dumb spots. It's never a "stop the show" kind of issue but it's always like "this could be better" kind of thing
Thank you for this. I plan on full-timing (but not 'winter weather' camping) and never thought about the difference in how the ductwork is run. That's something that would be important to me as this will be my 'home'.
REALLY Appreciate your helpful review!! Full size queen bed gets my vote. Husband needs over 6' bed *also the straight run furnace vent line, and the light switch on the wall, hard to believe that isn't a given.... shoulder problems make the overhead lightswitch a deal breaker for me. I would have said the SLX was good enough, but after seeing the differences It's really not, for OUR intended use. Thanks again!
Also. Pass along to the manufacturers to eliminate the island in some of the larger models. My unit has to be turtle friendly since it's just me and I park in parking lots frequently. Many units would be very turtle friendly if it were not for the center island. If one does more traveling than parking, the island doesn't do much for me. The travel friendly does. You reviewed a model recently that had no island and it was perfect. Also, not everyone needs a bunk house but I do need more multi season storage for clothes.
Great review. I owned a Jayco tin & stick for 16 yrs. it had the designer interior . Well built. Going to retire soon, want a small rig for a couple. The slx 237rbs is almost perfect. I am over six ft. the bed is to short. The SLX has no black tank flush. So on the jay flight the shortest rig is 24 ft. then goes to 28ft. The 24 has no theater seating and is an old floor plan. So the design goes to SLX, All couples want theater seating across from a big tv. For me, I have a 1/2 ton F150. I listen to the limits and opinions of 1/2 tons. My wish is for Jayco & Coachmen to have a redesign of their floor plans.
Queen size is enough. I do like the trend of upgrading the conventional trailers a bit. Also with the superior artic package, would have to go with full flight.
We love watching your videos! We are currently shopping for a new travel trailer to purchase by next spring and have decided that we’re getting the Jay Flight 29RKS. We’ve had a Jayco trailer before and love the quality and we love the rear kitchen. Right now we’re waiting for our dealer to get one on the lot! As far as the bed size, we will always get a queen bed instead of a king. We like the extra room to walk around and the extra room for CPAP equipment. Thanks again for the great job you do. We live in Wisconsin but if we can’t find what we want here, we’re taking a ride to Michigan!
Well good news - your dealer right here at Haylett RV has one right now! www.haylettautoandrv.com/inv/2021-Jayco-Jay-Flight-29RKS-Coldwater-MI-T1965/ All we ask in return for our efforts in videos like these is the fair opportunity to earn your business in return. Doesn't matter if you're near/far. We made deals happen given the opportunity.
We are buying our first TT in the next 30 to 60 days and have watching many of your videos and learned a lot. I am still torn between the Coachmen Catalina and the SLX BH. I have even considered driving to the Xichigan Coldwater location as the 264BHS is several hundred dollars less than my local dealer. I love the Jayco but I keep thinking about the convenience of the camp kitchen included in the Catalina 184BHS. Whichever way I go, know that myself and many others truly appreciate your efforts in these videos.
Excellent information, as always! I'd vote for the king bed. If you have small kids they always want to sneak in between mom and dad at night! And I think an older couple would enjoy the extra room.
Personally I say full queen is a good choice. Our 2016 Jayco Whitehawk has a true queen and works great. Plenty of room for sleeping with out feet hanging off the bed and still have breathing room so to speak when moving around in the bedroom room space.
I got curious after I posted that and did some looking and according to ISPA ( international sleep products association) almost 42% of all mattresses sold are queen, 17% are king. Just a little fun fact for the day.
There have been an increasing number of requests for things like office setups or W/D hookups if bunks are not wanted. I'm hoping a few brands start offering SOMETHING
Great video Unc Josh! I must admit I’m a newbie and your videos have been very helpful in doing my recon research for the perfect trailer. I was stuck on the wildwood 31Kqtbs until I ran across Jaycos warranties. The peace of mind is really nice for me being a newbie. The Jayco I’m pulling the trigger on is the slx324. In regards to your video the slx that I’m getting has heating in the floors and not cabinets, also got the bigger a/c and enclosed under belly. And a few more options so it was a no brainer for me. Again thanks for you help even though you didn’t get the sale Jayco sold me because of your knowledge. Hopefully they will let you tour the facility like wildwood did!
I have an open invite to tour Jayco’s multiple production facilities. I simply aren’t been able to get away from our store long enough to make it happen
@@justanothergamer8195 They do not. That's one of those lines between them. SLX can enclose the belly but that's it. "Full Flight" has pretty robust package
Great video and info as always Josh love the comparisons haylett has the best website love that you can look up a specific trailer and you give options on other manufactures with the same floor plan
We have a king bed at home. Why? Big dogs. They don’t always sleep on the bed (well, one doesn’t) but if there’s a storm? They have to be on top of us practically. So we prefer the real estate to work around them. I like some things on the SLX, but the one thing that sets them apart is the heating. I too am in Michigan (only about an hour away from Coldwater as it happens!) and it gets COLD here, surprisingly early in the year sometimes. It got down to the low 50’s last night, it’s still summer technically. Camping can happen into November at times, maybe even December i. some niche situations… I’m gonna need that extra 37% furnace air flow and thermal package offered by Jay Flight vs. SLX. If we lived in Florida, sure, ventless is the way to go. We do not. We go north to camp, it is colder up there than even here. So, floor vents are a must all other things being equal.
Hi Josh, Just watched your video on the Jay Flight vs the SLX. We prefer the Jay Flight. In fact we just purchased a 2022 Jay Flight 32BHDS. It came with a king but we prefer the queen. With the king bed we could hardly get by the bed. Both my husband and I are quite small in stature and we were bumping into the blackout shades that were down at the time. Putting in the queen bed gives us 5" more on each side. We are also singers with a bit of equipment so the bunk house is now going to be the music room. Really enjoy your videos. We have been RV'ing since 2004.
We started out with 36ft Southwind Motorhome without any slides. Then we went to a Jay Flight 23RB without slides, full time for over 6 years. It was time to upgrade and have more space.
For what it’s worth this video is now basically invalidated Jayco kinda merged the two floor plan catalogs and now all of them are built like the SLX trim package
Definitely #teamqueen here. I gotta have room to walk around. Though I know the larger size couples would probably have more need for the king bed. Not trying to be mean, just what I have seen from channels hosted by the big and tall types. That full Jay Flight is a damn nice trailer though! I just melted when I saw that kitchen!
@@Johnysoutherner Unfortunately I cannot fulfill specific comparison requests like this (though I'd like to). Those are two extremely different models -- there's far more different between them than similar really.
We like the bunk beds that create less weight, less length, more room and more comfort for sleeping. A couples bed takes up too much room for us functional folks. Great idea for the table legs. We have a large dog and the table would easily be removed for him to have extra room in our 20' Jayflight. Love the full Jayflight with the kitchen at the back/front....I can't tell what end it was at, or was it in the Jayflight SLX, dam....
I'd go with the queen, mainly because it is a standard residential size and bedding from anywhere fits right without hassle. I'm gonna guess that most people would take the king.
Another great video, Josh! We have a 2020 Jayco 183RB, so we didn't get a lot of what the 21's have now. But, we enjoy our camper a lot and enjoy our camp queen. We travel extensively for my wife's work, and really want to upgrade. More room/features etc. We'll definitely come to Haylett when we want to trade! #teamqueen
My wife and I currently have a 2007 WildWood, camp queen size bed. On a personal level, residential size queen would be great to have and much easier to select a mattress, I mean, if you were so inclined, you could take your queen from your home and put it your camper. With that being said, the layout of the camper and ease to remove the mattress is one major thing to look at and I feel many over look. Wrestling a mattress out and in is not easy, my wife and I did that in our camper. King seems and sounds nice, but, we also like to have more room around our bed. Queen it is for us.
I've wrestled plenty of mattresses in my 12 years here. I know it's not fun. But it's not the worst thing in the world and typically you only do it once.
Thanks for the detailed and informative video. I am currently shopping and that was info that wasn't present many places. We are like you, planning to be weekend warriors, with 1 big trip a summer with the fam. Definitely in the SLX price range, I was searching difference between jay feather and slx and found this video. One of our must haves as we look is a full queen bed. Two "american" sized adults can't sleep on a full. Short queen is fine, we are both short, but the width is important! I am currently heading over to your site, so thank you again for the information!
Jayco offers true queens starting in both the "Full Flight" and White Hawk series. BUT... many SLX and Jay Feather models are true queen *capable* with room for the longer bed. Both camp queens and true queens are 60" wide btw
I have been looking at the Wildwood fsx trailers, if I was able to move up to the trailers with slightly higher weights, would probably look at the SLX. On the beds, I think the queen is better, more room to walk around, but I am 5' 6" and my wife is 5' 2".
Great information on the 2 different lines. Jayco is a brand that me and my family are considering a front runner for us. Especially w me being 6’4” so put me down as #Queen bed and # Jay Flight. Keep up the great videos!!
@@jasonshock8176 No. it does not. The SLX and "Flight" series have their own mutually exclusive set of floor plans. The good news is the SLX series has advanced so much you never feel like you're "settling" for anything And with the cost savings it's usually easy to add a widget or two to fit your personal preferences.
Josh...love your videos..you ARE the RV nerd and call it the way it is..thank you..I am in Calistupidfornia otherwise I would buy from you!..keep the videos coming
Very informative and helpful video. I believe that the slx suits my needs but the Jay Flight is more appealing to my 3 girls. This video shows me what I'm getting for the additional $. Now the question is can my 2.7 eb can pull the bhs.
This video is just a general comparison of two series and not so much about specific RVs & models. We keep pricing on our site at www.bishs.com/inventory/?keyword=jay+flight&condition=New which will show you all of the new Jay Flights we have on hand (though that's quite the hefty list) We have search filters on our site to help narrow things down and people available any time as well. Also keep in mind pricing even on the same model can vary from store to store based on build date, shipping distance/cost, and options applied
Great job, as usual Josh. We're in the midst of deciding between the 2 models ourselves. One thing that might affect some buyers decisions is the "slide vs. no slide" question. I've stayed away from slides, as we tend to take months long trips, with many overnight stops. One less thing to go wrong on a multi stop trip. Having a slide stuck might ruin your day! I wonder if this issue has arisen with your customer base, or is just me? Thanks again for the great info.
No there's definitely folks out there who are "Slide Skeptics" for lack of a better phrase. I actually like featuring no-slide models from time to time. There's a LOT of people who are like "FINALLY!"
curious if there is a difference regarding "SLX8". Most of the differences you pointed out were present on our 2021 SLX8 212QB. on the overhead shelf over the bed I put some thin indoor outdoor carpet down from Home Depot and my wife found some baskets to go up there and it actually looks better than the Jay Flight cabinets now, especially with the blue LED lights. I also cut up that same indoor outdoor carpet and lined the cargo compartment and made a floor rug to go on my wife's side of the bed.
SLX8 is what is referenced thru this video. The SLX7 are the single axles. SLX8 are tandem axles. I may not have made that clear. There's always so much "house keeping " to cover...
You missed one of the most important differences and that's the cargo carrying capacity. The SLX has smaller tires and lighter axles which limits your cargo carrying ability, especially if you fill your freshwater tank for dry camping. Still fine for most weekenders, but an important difference.
Question "Josh", How do you clean the outside of a Trailer/RV? And what kind of products do you use for the different parts of the RV? Power washer or no power washer, and how often? I would like to hear your opinion. Thanks Dave P.
I'm team flight, I'm a bigger guy, and that plastic toilet in the slx, looks like I'll break it. Not to mention porcelain isn't porous and is easier to clean.
Due to me being 6'2" I would probably not go with the SLX due to the camp queen. As for the qreen vs king, it really comes down to who's buying. Couples with dogs that sleep with them and/or families with small kids that still find them in their bed when they wake up probably want the king. But as you stated, these are not long term campers, so I would probably say queen in the smaller couples campers but a king in the others. I also thought you could do an after market upgrade to the propane on the slx. Is there also an option for the masurator and/or black tank flush on the flight?
No Flight is ready for something like Sanicon from the factory. In theory it could be added to most things, but it would be costly and like jamming a square peg into a round hole.
Team King! Team JayFlight. Also, team 30"x36" shower. The Radius and Tubs that Jayco puts in everything but Eagles keep me and my large body away from the segment.
In your opinion, is the Baja package “worth it” for folks who are doing basic car camping? We generally do weekend camping, a summer trip of 1-2 weeks, almost entirely in traditional campgrounds. We might have a LITTLE boondocking in our future, but not a ton.
Team Jay Flight and king bed. Can you explain the W series SLX out west? I'm looking at the Jay Flight 28BHS and the SLX 286 BHSW. I'm in CA and want to buy from you. Help?
Those are made in Idaho There will be a few minor differences here and there but for the most part the same The Rocky Mountain edition is a package available only in their Idaho production as well Full jag flight isn’t made in Idaho s the RMEdition is like an SLX+1/2 including the more critical upgrades from the full flights into those western SLX models
Queen bed is fine/has to be N/S bed but those cabinets are going to give me bruises...why do they have to be so low? Still a Team Jayco SLX for sure!! No bunks but want it same length..& add more storage in its place. .. not deal breaker. Did it have a ladder ..a must!! Thanks Josh .. you went above & beyond with this in service.. thanks again! Oh can you put a Murphy bed in SLX?
wonder if things changed with the shotages, my 2023 JF 240RBS with CVP seems to have a mix of some of thiese things, or maybe its because its a smaller model some things are left out
The entire Jay flight line changed for 2023. This video is now outdated All slx and jay flights merged All basically built to previous SLX equipment But all just called jay flight
@@JoshtheRVNerd wow! I'm really glad I read through the comments and saw this Josh. I was just looking at your video about the 2024 212QB and was trying to find an example of an slx so I could compare vs full flight. I didn't realize that the two had been merged. A friend got a 22 192rb slx and I was less than impressed with the overall feel of it especially inside. It definitely felt like a "base model" vs having the full flight trimmings. Question regarding the changes for 23 & 24... Would you say that the 212qb now has more of a slx feel in terms of interior styling and quality or did they upgrade them to all have more of a full flight finish to them? - Sorry for the long comment. I've been getting a ton out of your videos and really appreciate all the info and time that you put into them.
I cannot speak for Jayco on this one. I can only speculate the answer is something like "Because that's what everyone else does in these segments and we're just trying to stay competitive."
Team queen for mor space around. But how long is the queen? You’re the best Josh! My husband has wanted to camp for years but I wasn’t convinced until I found your videos!
I have concerns about WW build quality, but, yeah, I'm a potential buyer in this class. I will ALWAYS choose a King bed. Keep the fake LED fireplace, I'll be looking at real fires. Save money THERE, on fake fires. You make a strong case for 20# bottles, too. $$ My plan is to buy a quality mattress in California King, which measures 72x84. That extra 4" means no foot cramps, and my waterbed sheet sets will fit it. Length... always in short supply in RVs. Kinda digging the "full Flight" with a window facing MY fire and MY campsite.... Which model was that?
Queen bed gets my vote. I love the extra space it allows.
queen beds are sufficient unless you are a "mountain man". To me the walk around space is important.
lol - love the definition
Yes!
I agree ,we have the jayco 33 rbts ,so the bedroom walking space is tight
These videos are great, just purchased an SLX from Haylett and honestly didn't know there was a difference between the Jay Flight and Jay Flight SLX. Haven't seen many Jay Flights around. There are a lot of things nice about the Jay Flight compared to the SLX but for the avid weekend camper I think the SXL works well. Keep up the good work Josh!
Glad I could help!

Jayco no question. Thank you for the comparison!!
Team Queen. Makes it easier to get around the bed. Also, like the basics and price of the SLX, but we also don't spend much time in the camper when camping. Looking to trade my full Jay Flight 28BHBE for a SLX8 267bhs for easier half ton towing. Thanks for the great videos Josh.
Is the 267bhs good for hall ton towable
My wife and I are picking up our 2022 Jayflight 265rls slx this week. We absolutely love it . We have been looking for a year now and we're finally able to find something that we wanted.
TY Roger!

after watch this , i'm glad i got the SLX. and saved money on things i don't need. we camp 4 to 5 times a year. and we are going from a pop up to a 224bh. can't wait to go camping. one last thing, my popup had one 20 lp tank , it lasted all season. and we had a stove top and a furnace, and hot water tank.
Glad we could provide some peace of mind for you, Doug!
Ty :)
Only a season old sky still pretty current
RVNerd,
Nah man you are a RV guru.
Wow, thank you!
We recently purchased a 2020 slx 287bhs(not from you) and could not be happier, perfect for our family and needs. Thanks for the info Josh!
Great to hear!
Very informative that can make a purchase more on target to what someone needs. I love you sense of humor and your honesty.
Thanks so much!
My pleasure. I appreciate the feedback and ideas!
Always appreciate your honesty Josh. Wish more retailers were like you
Tyvm
We sure try
Hey Josh. Another informative video. Finally learned the reason for different heating vents. Thanks.
Awesome :)
Nicely done Josh. For a newbie like me, these are great differences to know. Looking forward to many more!
More to come!
Definitely looking at the Jayflight. You video answered a ton of my questions.
Hopefully our team is given the opportunity to answer a few more in return at some point :)
Very informative, thank you. Now that you've explained the difference I would lean more towards a Jay Flight.
The sound effects are sending me lol. I also love the fact that Josh embraces being a nerd and being corny with the dad jokes lol.
I hope you like the nerdiness. Cause it's all I got lol
@@JoshtheRVNerd as a fellow nerd I hope you keep it coming!
Big likes for this one. I've long been a fan of the SLX. Bang for your buck trailers. I'd like to own one someday.
Ever since the late 2020 update they've become *so* good too
Josh , this was a very good video. Past comparisons between manufactures were good but this one within the brand was very informative for me as someone trying to decide our next rv purchase. With this and other recent videos you are taking it to another level , old & sold yea!
Man I'm trying. Pumping out some maximum effort stuff here. hope it's beneficial for everyone
And when you're not using the heat, then just put out a throw rug or get some vent filter pads.
So happy the modern farmhouse made it down to the SLX.
It’s carrying thru to the 2023’s
@@JoshtheRVNerd pretty certain the one we purchased did. I'll let you know Thursday evening!
@@JoshtheRVNerd mine has cottage not farm house. I was WRONG
Once again great job Josh
Thx 🙏🏻
Fantastic video! Full JayFlight every time!
Glad you enjoyed it
REALLY Appreciate your helpful review!!
Full size queen bed gets my vote. Husband needs over 6' bed
*also the straight run furnace vent line, and the light switch on the wall, hard to believe that isn't a given.... shoulder problems make the overhead lightswitch a deal breaker for me.
I've been asking for various brands to have at least ONE model with no island for this very reason. A traveler
They're always evaluating I think. I love seeing a buyer's mindset like this. TY for sharing.
Queen size is enough. I do like the trend of upgrading the conventional trailers a bit. Also with the superior artic package, would have to go with full flight.
Full Flight is unquestionably best in class IF the thermal package is optioned.
We are really looking for a king bed! It’s a deal breaker for us!! Love watching you Josh! #teamjayflight #teamking
Well good news - your dealer right here at Haylett RV has one right now! www.haylettautoandrv.com/inv/2021-Jayco-Jay-Flight-29RKS-Coldwater-MI-T1965/
All we ask in return for our efforts in videos like these is the fair opportunity to earn your business in return.
Let me know how I/We can assist Charles! I'll keep the videos rolling meanwhile :)
Queen for walk around space
TY
Excellent information, as always! I'd vote for the king bed. If you have small kids they always want to sneak in between mom and dad at night! And I think an older couple would enjoy the extra room.
Interesting though. TY for sharing
Personally I say full queen is a good choice. Our 2016 Jayco Whitehawk has a true queen and works great. Plenty of room for sleeping with out feet hanging off the bed and still have breathing room so to speak when moving around in the bedroom room space.
TY
I got curious after I posted that and did some looking and according to ISPA ( international sleep products association) almost 42% of all mattresses sold are queen, 17% are king. Just a little fun fact for the day.
Josh! Absolutely brilliant review! Thank you
Ty :)
Wish they would offer option for more storage space and washer/dryer hookup options in travel trailers if you do not need extra bunks...
@@JoshtheRVNerd That’s awesome to hear! Can’t wait to see that video to see how Jaycos are built.
So does any slx version offer a thermal package as I need an all season camper where we might be winter camping
@@justanothergamer8195 They do not. That's one of those lines between them. SLX can enclose the belly but that's it. "Full Flight" has pretty robust package
Very good information. I love all you do.
So nice of you!
Great video and info as always Josh love the comparisons haylett has the best website love that you can look up a specific trailer and you give options on other manufactures with the same floor plan
Yep! Took a LOT of work to make that happen
And despite how cold it's been getting in the evening/mornings we're expected to see 80's thru OCTOBER this year
Hi Josh, Just watched your video on the Jay Flight vs the SLX.
For what it’s worth this video is now basically invalidated
Jayco kinda merged the two floor plan catalogs and now all of them are built like the SLX trim package
That 29RKS is awesome -- especially in the new Farmhouse
Ive been looking heavily into the 264bh, so I suppose I'm an SLX guy.
I really appreciate this video
You and me both! That's the rig I tend to use as well.
@@JoshtheRVNerd is it possible to do a comparison review between the X213 & the 264bh?
Team #Jayflight. I’ve had mine for 3 years and my parents are on their 2nd.
Won't hear me argue. I camp in a 264BH most of the time
@@JoshtheRVNerd their first was a BH but they’ve switched to a 28RKS. I’m jealous of theirs. I prefer it to my 27RLS
Thanks Josh. Hope all is well, bud!
All good. You?
I'd go with the queen, mainly because it is a standard residential size and bedding from anywhere fits right without hassle. I'm gonna guess that most people would take the king.
Most votes seem to be #TeamQueen
Great video. Thank you!
My pleasure thank you!
#teamqueen
Sounds great!
Great info.
FSX is such a great series. It sort of slides between the 7ft and 8ft wide SLX models
Thanks for the awesome comparison!
My pleasure!
Great information on the 2 different lines. Jayco is a brand that me and my family are considering a front runner for us. Especially w me being 6’4” so put me down as #Queen bed and # Jay Flight. Keep up the great videos!!
Add a #TeamHaylett to that and I think you've completed the trifecta :)
#teamhaylett completed! Does the 267bhs come in a jay flight? We will keep Haylett in mind in the spring.
@@jasonshock8176 No. it does not. The SLX and "Flight" series have their own mutually exclusive set of floor plans. The good news is the SLX series has advanced so much you never feel like you're "settling" for anything
And with the cost savings it's usually easy to add a widget or two to fit your personal preferences.
*Wondering how long it'll be before he drops the "Jayco doing Jayco stuff" line.*

For what it's worth we work with folks in cali regularly. Something to think about!
Very informative and helpful video. I believe that the slx suits my needs but the Jay Flight is more appealing to my 3 girls. This video shows me what I'm getting for the additional $. Now the question is can my 2.7 eb can pull the bhs.
Did you get one, how did you 2.7 EB do with it?
Thank you for this video. This really helped us.
Our pleasure, Jill :)
I’m on team “True Queen”. I like to be able to get in and out on both sides. What do these run new? We are just starting our newbie search.
This video is just a general comparison of two series and not so much about specific RVs & models. We keep pricing on our site at www.bishs.com/inventory/?keyword=jay+flight&condition=New which will show you all of the new Jay Flights we have on hand (though that's quite the hefty list)
We have search filters on our site to help narrow things down and people available any time as well.
Also keep in mind pricing even on the same model can vary from store to store based on build date, shipping distance/cost, and options applied
KING! KING! KING!
Yeah but how do you REALLY feel? lol
Good information!

Jay flight all the way! I need Josh to sell me my rv! That guy will be who my wife and I buy from.
We'll be ready when you're ready :)
Thanx Josh
Thank YOU for watching! :)
Love the comparison videos. Love to see more. Can you do some on high end couples coaches?
I'll be doing a looooot of these... as soon as we can get some darn campers to stay in stock long enough for me to record!
#TeamQueen. Go to a hotel or a big fifth wheel if you need a king.
I told my wife she had a king at home.
She threw a deck of cards at me.
Turns out she had four.
You missed one of the most important differences and that's the cargo carrying capacity. The SLX has smaller tires and lighter axles which limits your cargo carrying ability, especially if you fill your freshwater tank for dry camping. Still fine for most weekenders, but an important difference.
Team Queen 👸
TY!
Question "Josh", How do you clean the outside of a Trailer/RV? And what kind of products do you use for the different parts of the RV? Power washer or no power washer, and how often? I would like to hear your opinion. Thanks Dave P.
I actually put together some handy regular upkeep checklists here www.haylettautoandrv.com/resources/ a while back I think you'll find useful :)
I'm team flight, I'm a bigger guy, and that plastic toilet in the slx, looks like I'll break it. Not to mention porcelain isn't porous and is easier to clean.
Napper and Crapper. Got it! LOL
Useful Comparison. Currently Team White Hawk :)
Can't fault you for loving a white hawk. Such a great rig!
Big deal. Team SLX over white hawk anyday. White hawx sux.
Jay Flights actually use different showers by floor plan. They're one of the few without standardized hardware in the bathroom.
In your opinion, is the Baja package “worth it” for folks who are doing basic car camping? We generally do weekend camping, a summer trip of 1-2 weeks, almost entirely in traditional campgrounds. We might have a LITTLE boondocking in our future, but not a ton.
Baja is on western built units only btw
It doesn’t sound like an important pairing for how you intend to camp
Team Jay Flight and king bed. Can you explain the W series SLX out west? I'm looking at the Jay Flight 28BHS and the SLX 286 BHSW. I'm in CA and want to buy from you. Help?
Those are made in Idaho
There will be a few minor differences here and there but for the most part the same
The Rocky Mountain edition is a package available only in their Idaho production as well
Full jag flight isn’t made in Idaho s the RMEdition is like an SLX+1/2 including the more critical upgrades from the full flights into those western SLX models
My big issue with the current Jayco is the doors seem to jam up. Either won’t close or hard to open.
Murphy beds aren’t options at Jayco. A model either has them or doesn’t
wonder if things changed with the shotages, my 2023 JF 240RBS with CVP seems to have a mix of some of thiese things, or maybe its because its a smaller model some things are left out
The entire Jay flight line changed for 2023. This video is now outdated
All slx and jay flights merged
All basically built to previous SLX equipment
But all just called jay flight
Josh, why does the SLX have a open shelf instead a cabinet face. They included it on the slx7 series like in my 145 RB.
I cannot speak for Jayco on this one. I can only speculate the answer is something like "Because that's what everyone else does in these segments and we're just trying to stay competitive."
How significant is the difference between the five lug wheels on the SLX and the six lug wheels on the J flight?
It's not. It's related to axle ratings. There's less weight involved in the 5-lug wheels so it evens out
Team queen for mor space around. But how long is the queen? You’re the best Josh! My husband has wanted to camp for years but I wasn’t convinced until I found your videos!
This video is becoming g quite outdated now after a few seasons. The entire Jay flight lineup has changed and bed size varies by model now
I have concerns about WW build quality, but, yeah, I'm a potential buyer in this class. I will ALWAYS choose a King bed. Keep the fake LED fireplace, I'll be looking at real fires. Save money THERE, on fake fires. You make a strong case for 20# bottles, too. $$
My plan is to buy a quality mattress in California King, which measures 72x84. That extra 4" means no foot cramps, and my waterbed sheet sets will fit it. Length... always in short supply in RVs.
Kinda digging the "full Flight" with a window facing MY fire and MY campsite.... Which model was that?
This one: ruclips.net/video/B5qw7Xsgd0U/видео.html
any difference in axle carrying capacity? I noticed the Jay Flight is 6 bolt and the SLX is 5 bolt.
You'll see the GVWR's climb as you go into "Full Flight" since they feature more equipment & weight w/Axle Ratings climbing accordingly
Team Queen
