  • If you're a veteran seeking assistance with your VA disability claim, chances are you've come across Veterans Evaluation Services (VES). This company claims to provide "quick and easy" evaluations for veterans looking to receive their benefits. However, there has been increasing concern and controversy surrounding VES, with many veterans claiming that they have been scammed by this company. So, what's the truth about VES? Is it a legitimate service or just another scam preying on vulnerable veterans?
VES was founded in 2010 with the goal of providing efficient and timely medical evaluations for veterans seeking disability benefits from the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). They were contracted by the VA to help reduce the backlog of disability claims and streamline the process for veterans. However, over time, many veterans have raised red flags about their experiences with VES, leading to questions about their legitimacy and practices.
One of the main complaints against VES is their lack of transparency and communication. Many veterans have reported difficulty getting in touch with VES representatives or receiving updates on their claim status. This has caused frustration and confusion for those relying on VES for assistance. Additionally, there have been numerous reports of VES losing documents or failing to submit important medical records, resulting in delayed or denied claims for veterans.
Another cause for concern is the high denial rate of claims processed by VES. In some cases, veterans have received a denial letter from the VA stating that no evidence was submitted by VES on their behalf. This has led to speculation that VES may be intentionally mishandling or neglecting crucial evidence in order to save money and increase profits. Additionally, there have been reports of VES using unqualified medical professionals to conduct evaluations, which can also lead to inaccurate decisions on disability benefits.
With these issues in mind, many are questioning whether VES is actually a scam. Some veterans have reported paying thousands of dollars for VES's services, only to receive a denial or minimal increase in their disability rating. There have also been reports of VES charging for evaluations that were never completed or never submitted to the VA. While these claims are still being investigated, it's important for veterans to be aware and cautious when working with VES.
If you have had a negative experience with VES, it's important to seek assistance from reputable sources such as Veterans Service Organizations (VSOs) or accredited attorneys. These organizations can provide free and trustworthy help with your disability claim without any hidden fees or questionable practices. Additionally, you can report any issues or concerns about VES to the VA Office of Inspector General.
In conclusion, while VES may have had good intentions when first established, there are valid concerns and complaints that raise doubts about their legitimacy. As a veteran seeking assistance with your disability claim, it's crucial to do your research and be cautious when working with any company or individual. Remember to seek help from reliable sources and report any suspicious activities to ensure you receive the benefits you deserve. Overall, it's important for veterans to stay informed and aware of potential scams targeting them, so they can avoid falling prey to manipulative tactics. Stay vigilant and prioritize your well-being as a veteran seeking assistance with your VA disability claim.

Great information! Having recently submitted a claim to the VA hear is one thing I can state about VES, they are not very veteran sensitive. The VA ordered some exams through VES for me and their procedure of scheduling exams bypasses the veteran. We veterans have lives like everyone else. We may want to attend a class reunion, go to a family reunion or have another medical appointment. And I actually had another medical appointment in this case that I had to cancel because of the VES protocol. But they would schedule the appointment first with a provider, then send paper work to me basically telling me to be at this place at a certain time. I don't drive so that can get complicated. One place they wanted me to go was roughly 108 miles away. I use public transportation. And my rural services transportation can take me to locations like 70 miles away. But at that distance, I would have to catch a bus and spend the night. The military related disabilities keep me from working so using an Uber for that distance was out of the question. But if VES had called me first and asked for my availability, things could have been much smoother and locating transportation would have been easier. We know the VA. They schedule exams and they expect us to be there or else. I saw this all as a money game for VES. They schedule the appointments without contact or consent from the veteran. Then they report to the VA, mission accomplished, and get paid. Any hardships created are the veteran"s problem. In the end, after having most of their appointments declined because of transportation issues (the local VA transportation would not take me the 108 miles and DAV could not locate any drivers) the VA cancelled all the appointments. But it should be obvious to the VA that they just can't call all veterans and give them a 12 day notice to be at certain places without actually consulting the veteran.

I had a Parkinson's Disease exam in the back of a message parlor, while waiting, I watched strangers get messages. The test was done by an Ears, Nose and Throat specialist. He had a card table, laptop and BP cuff. Said, "Tell me all of your Parkinson's symptoms" and took my BP. My claim was denied.

I just diagnosed with fibromyalgia. It is a presumptive under MUCMI. Had my C&P about a month ago. They didn’t perform a test. I was just asked where do I have the pain. I just commented on 12 of the 18 points. That’s all I recall though I had 7 other conditions the examiner was doing. I think it went well but it was odd I didn’t have any thing else related to the fibro. She did say she was just going to plug in my words from my personal statements. I think that’s a good thing. I went to a routine exam for my back condition. I was rated 20 percent for my back and 10 percent right and left leg radicuopthy. The Va increased my back rating to 40 percent and both legs to 20 percent each. I also got rated 20 percent for formal nerve damage for each leg. Which was a surprise because I didn’t have a claim for femoral nerve damage. I think what helped me was I had my outside doctors notes also I had my pain log.

if you have been DXed with fibromyalgia get tested for small fiber polyneuropathy.
the doctors that DX fibromyalgia are not the same as the doctors that DX Small fiber polyneuropathy.
both try to DX disorders in there own field .
as for VES I got ED added to my rating by VES even though i had never claimed it on my VA disablity claim.
the doctor ask if i had ED as part of my exam for incontance caused by fournier's gangrene i got from diabetes medication i had to take for diabetes i got from agent orange.

You are writing about VES then said QTC.... VES is at the mercy of the VBA for records, requested exams, etc. VES also does not make any decisions on service connection or ratings. They perform the exams, review records, and send the exams back to the VBA.

DBQ last year with a VES nurse for a broken foot while on duty. She had some other guys file, wrong country of service, wrong body oart, etc. She didnt have a copy of my file and insisted that I refused treatment at the hospital. I asked to show her a copy of my file from when I broke the foot, she declined. She then said there was no service connection despite that a Lieutenant Colonel, MD, wrote "left heel stress fracture," in the report and circled the break in the xray.
Rater read her conclusion and front paged my med file (first page is the sick slip) and the whole claim was denied.
In another incident, VES sent me for a Friday appointment to a hospital that was closed on Friday. The janitor said "VES send you here? We get vets every Friday and weve been telling VES for 6 months we're closed on Fridays."
They also scheduled me for an auditory exam and gave me 12 hours notice to drive 90 mins away.
    VES sucks really bad.
I filed a Congressional complaint on them and a White House Hotline complaint on the nurse.

Is Fibromyalgia mental health, as you mentioned something about mental health pyramiding? The pain is physical, but I understand how fibromyalgia can cause depression/anxiety, but wouldn't the depression/anxiety be a secondary mental health issue to fibromyalgia?

I thought the People from VES were very good and they both are ex military , The person doing the main part after I took my shirt off, knew I had an hernia, which I never reported to VA . I had two tests by two different examiners that had to do with the pact act and never had any trouble.

My advice is to record your C&P Exam, on your phone or on your computer if the exam is over zoom or equivalent meeting software. I did and caught the "Dr." skipping key issues in the DBQ. If you don't do this, you'll never know how you were 'bent over'!

I dont believe in "fibro myalgia" either. I feel like its made up just to make the person feel better about having something. I do believe in chronic pain which I def have. Its all a waste of time honestly.
