Absolute poverty line doesn't take into account price differences in different countries. Developing countries tend to have lower prices than developed countries (also labour force is cheaper there). People in developing countries produce and then eat their food themselves, it isn't sold to intermediaries and then bought on the market which is case in developed countries... Here in developed countries many margins are included in the price of things, including basic necessities... Price for agricultural products is much lower than price of food sold in supermarkets.
It's the invalidation of your actual life situation. People tell you to just think positive. It's more difficult to deal with social isolation when you can't get to where the people are. Kind of puts a damper on getting to know people when you need to ask them for a ride home. The simplest things are so much more difficult. Relative poverty has effected my entire life. When it's lifelong it isolates you and makes you feel so powerless. I believe it's a major cause of suicide. And then there's the invalidation and the effect that has on your sanity.
Ok. First, how old are you? If you are above 25 idc. You made your life choices and now you have to live with them. While you were partying and hitting the bong, some of us were reading boring ass books and staggering our exhausted asses to class at 9 in the morning. If you are still young, then the answer to your problem is simple. Your work is free. It doesnt cost you a dime to work, so being poorer will mean you will have to use yourself more than those other kids. You can do it. Just strap on your boots and start working your ass off everyday
Super entitled comment... Relative poverty is a good way to divert attention from the fact that you have ample opportunities to better your life, in contrast to how your life is at the moment.

Absolute poverty line must be based on purchasing power parity of a basic basket of goods and service for survival, or else it makes no sense.
