I love this movie, the cinematography is gorgeous, and really captures the essence of the era through the eyes of a child.

The director did not portray truthfully. He romanticized the troubles and I was deeply offended by this film. I grew up on one of the interfaces (Shankill Road) so know first hand how bad it was. Once Upon a Time in Northern Ireland tells the true story. Most people's story are never told.
I didn't understand why some people says Belfast is bad or boring. With this first scene the movie really caught me, even though I'm not an Irishman born in the 60's

I was friends with a Nothern Irish family in Germany. Anytime there was a boom noise the children jumped for shelter. It was heartbreking. I think this video shows well enough what extremist do to society.

I wasn't born when The troubles happens I heard they were very bad times still I would agree by a united Ireland what they were fighting for but I don't agree with going crazy by throwing drains lighting people's houses on fire killing people shooting now I don't agree with that

Personally i hated this movie, just seems like a one sided affair portraying the Republicans as good and the British / Loyalists as bad, Very innacurate to the actual troubles by a longshot, there where no good sides, both where bad, mainly the IRA given the ammount of people they killed.
