Great video. Nice filming in my hood (Sandy Row). The only “don’t” you forgot about is ……. Don’t forget to try some Tayto cheese & onion potato crisps/chips, washed down with a big glass of brown lemonade. Both staples of the “Norn Iron” (Northern Ireland) diet. Also the traditional “Ulster Fry” breakfast is a must have. The Errigle Inn on Ormeau Road is a top tip for great pub grub and atmosphere. Ten mins on the bus from city centre. The beautiful Ormeau Park is also a good place to walk off the food & beer. ✌️🙂

@@maguiresam8909 I think most people in Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland would agree with my observation and not take offence whatever their political leanings

Fantastic video as usual! I live a short distance from Belfast and I love it, it's a city with a local vibe. One thing I feel wasn't brought up was "don't mention religion or politics", to some its a very sore point, but it's easily avoided. 2 hours on a bus takes you to Derry, another lovely small city to visit. Even better, take the train and enjoy the beautiful North coast.
It's worth pointing out that the northern Northern Ireland coastline and countryside is absolutely beautiful - there's some stunning scenery and coastal views that are absolutely beautiful with a lick of sunshine. Tourists just want to get to the crowded and small Giants Causeway area, and a couple of other spots - they're missing out, as the coastal drive has a Lot of other spots to take in, with some of the prettiest countryside found on the whole island if you drive westward over towards Derry/Londonderry and then cross the Border towards nearby Letterkenny in the Republic...

One piece of important information is that the pink buses as we call them, you can pay on the bus. Gliders (which only go selected routes like up to Dundonald past Stormont or to the glider to the Titanic Quarters, have a mandatory pay at the bus stop. The gliders are the purple buses (also known as the bendy buses).

Pretty short, comprehensive, fair, roundup about the town we love so well....Belfast. Well done WW! If you want to see the Titanic story of 'Jack and Rose', as you said, you will not find it at the Titanic Exhibition. It is however at another local, Titanic museum/Exhibition, at the marvellous, lesser known, Ulster Folk and Transport Museum, 6 miles along the coast at Cultra, on the road to Bangor. I thoroughly recommend St George's Market but NOT the Belfast, ( Continental ), Christmas market, at the city Hall. This Continental market is full of over priced, foreign tat. It is a travelling show, replica, found in so many other European city markets. There is little local authenticity about it. The food sold in the Continental market can be sourced outside the market in local Belfast food outlets, at a fraction of the price. Profits from the Continental Market disappear out of Belfast to Europe. Otherwise, a good report given, WW. Best wishes from the Belfast Castlereagh hills of Northern Ireland.
I'm in complete agreement with your post. The transport museum is wonderful! It's unexpectedly brilliant. (Aussie tourist waving Merry Xmas to you from Hillsborough 👋).
Yes it's there WW. The Ulster Folk and Transport Museum along with HMS Caroline and the Ulster American Folk Park, is one of the best sets of museums here. Yet everyone flocks to Titanic and Titanic gets all the promotion. Sorry although Titanic is good narrating the history of Belfast ship building it is well down my list. Thanks for getting back to me WW. You are one busy guy. Best wishes from the Belfast Castlereagh hills.
This is just amazing..... No one was coming here only 20 odd years ago only the "adventurous traveller". Now there's well known RUclipsrs making videos on how great our wee country/city is.
Went there in 2019 and really enjoyed it, even over Dublin. The people are super friendly, too. Now I see I'll have to go back, because we didn't have enough time for all the places your mentioned. Did do some museums, gardens, city bus tour with an awesome guide and St. George's Market, which was great and the Titanic Museum with the tram tour and it was fasinating. Thanks for the video.
Just round the corner from titanic and it's fab hotel is the HMS Caroline last surviving ship from Battle of jutland ww1. Its been fitted out in its original design fun for all the family if its still open!!!
Irish person here gonna offer some additional tips.s 1) avoid talking politics with people from northern Ireland while your in a safe city its also very quickly changing and lots of people are feeling increasingly isolated so it can be very quick to annoy people. 2)if theirs a word you don't know that your read in graffiti i wouldn't go around saying, taig is an example its a discriminatory word for nationalists. 3)if you can, rent a car the buses don't always go everywhere. it also opens up going to the republic or taking the ferry to Scotland for a day. 4)most importantly don't forget to have fun
I expect everything will be open when you visit. No lockdowns on the horizon. From last week a so-called Covid passport is needed to access pubs & cinemas etc, (which I don’t agree with) but everything should be open. TIP: A boat trip on Lough Neagh (with lunch) is a nice way to spend a day.

No shame, have you.
I always find your videos so interesting! I just posted my own video from Belfast. It was a great trip!
I live here and to be totally honest I thought the don'ts on this video were quite good. He seemed to cover pretty much everything except maybe one or two points. Be respectful enough not to bring up the troubles to either religion as you'll be given two versions.
Just enjoy your time in a mixed cultural city. See the sights and more importantly have a great time.
belfast isn’t that mixed
@@bagel9542 how is it not?, Gerry
@@DMCWILLIAMS1 don’t even bother yourself m8
I live in North Ireland, 30 miles outside Belfast and have always found it mixed.
It's a great place even for myself and friends to go spend a night out and stay over in some of its hotels etc.
Two versions the truth Irish Roman Catholic Republican/Nationalist or the British properganda Ulster Protestant/Unionist/Loyalist narrative
Damn son, you really kniw your stuff, you’re totally right about the UK feel of Belfast
Amazing! I moved up here from Dublin 2 months ago and I've not been out much because I've been busy with work and then busy going home to Dublin at weekends. I plan on settling on properly after this silly festive season. Would love to get out meeting great new people.
As someone who grew up here you did it credit thankyou.
All of Northern Ireland is in Ulster, but not all of Ulster lies in Northern Ireland...
I love calling that section occupied Ireland
Don't: Make absolute statements such as "Norn Ireland is UK and not Irish"...be culturally sensitive, some will welcome that, the indigenous will not.
@@maguiresam8909 I think most people in Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland would agree with my observation and not take offence whatever their political leanings
@@clavichord Don't think that. I live here and have family on both sides of the border so vetter qualified than yourself with "most people".
@@maguiresam8909 Most of Ulster is in Northern Ireland but County Donegal, Cavan and Monaghan are parts of Ulster within the Republic of Ireland. There's nothing controversial in stating that and I should think most Nationalists and Unionists would agree that this is currently the case... even though Unionist have the tendancy to use the word Ulster as a synonym for Northern Ireland, most admit not all of Ulster is within Northern Ireland
Belfast is a great city, I love getting there every so often
Definitely do a black cab tour. Wandering around and looking at the murals on your own isn't the same at all.
Can't agree more, the guides are simply amazing
I stayed at the Titanic Hotel next to the museum this June. Loved it all.

As someone who has watched your channel for years, I wasn’t expecting to see this video! Thank you for coming to our little city
Great to see you in Belfast mate my home town. Hope you enjoyed it! Keep up the great work and merry Christmas to you and the family.
Hey Mark, I was actually in Belfast Christmas Market filming a vlogmas video when you and Jocelyn were there!! Wish so much that I'd gotten to see you, maybe next time 🎄☃️ great job on the video!
Wow I can’t believe how accurate all this information is, coming from a local! Brilliant content, keep it up!
I went to both Dublin and Belfast last month and I was shocked about how much I preferred Belfast.
I would not visit Ireland for the cities
We are cheaper to visit and because we didn't have tourist's for so long, we never take anything for granted about our current popularity with them.
both cities are shitholes apart from the centre
@@bagel9542 the centre? Crawling with wee junkies?

What a nice upload dear. It’s just superb.
Excellent background view with your super shots.🤩🤩
I am so thankful to you for uploading such amazing video....❤🧡💯
Best travel channel on RUclips by far.
This guy knows more about Belfast than most people who live there.
He curiously said that last time he was in Belfast the peace was wasn't up which I thought strange because wasn't the main wall put up in 1969?
Belfast is a great city for visiting! I’m glad you enjoyed your time and thank you for giving such greats Do’s and Don’ts
Hopefully next Summer when the pandemic is over, I would love to visit Northern Ireland in the future
Thank you! My husband and I will be in Belfast in October and we found this video very helpful!
If you visit the giants causeway DONT pay the entry fee because it is free just walk around the barrier.
Watching this as an northern ireland person. Im so proud of our city. And proud what we have came through. Tip for anyone coming over. Do coastal route. The antrim coast is truly beautiful.
My husband and I loved Belfast. Unfortunately, we only drove up for a day from Dublin. (We did get to enjoy the awesome Christmas Market.)
Glad you covered the parking. I live just outside the city and the parking is a bloody nightmare.. Keep doing what you're doing Wolter. Long time watcher of your channel. Thanks!
You missed one big, don't when you're driving. Never ever in a month of sundays turn on the radio between 9 and half 10 on weekdays. Sore ears and groundhog day come to mind 🤣🤣
100 percent agree 👍👍
Great video for visiting this lovely wee shit hole of ours 🤣. Also! walking past SandyRow and making the comment about the boys out on a Friday and Saturday night🤣love it!
Great video and positive vibes for visiting 👍
Good to see you back in Belfast
Thanks Moldy 😊
One of my favorite musicians, Van Morrison, came from Belfast.
And if you’re going on to GB, spend all your NI notes first as they are legal tender but are RARELY accepted over there
Depends on the region and company. Where I am it's accepted currency
Just take them to a bank and change them. Handing over a Scottish note is like handing them a week old fish.

Yup, good advice. I've never had a problem in Scotland with them. But I had to negotiate in London 🤣 not worth it ha.
I think that this is UNDER RATED I've lived here all my life butt what's so special is the accents!
Northern Ireland is so small you should definitely visit the North Coast when you visit Belfast.
Exactly
One piece of important information is that the pink buses as we call them, you can pay on the bus. Gliders (which only go selected routes like up to Dundonald past Stormont or to the glider to the Titanic Quarters, have a mandatory pay at the bus stop. The gliders are the purple buses (also known as the bendy buses).
Well done my friend, for a Yank you did a great job explaining the do's and don'ts .
I really hope you and your family had a great time and enjoyed your stay in Belfast and our wee country.
God bless
I visited the Titanic Museum in Belfast whilst I was still in primary school. Honestly, I'd love to go back someday as it was an amazing experience.
As a person from Northern Ireland I agree with all of this hope you enjoyed your time there
Your name says GB yet you're from Northern Ireland?
its a british flag, depending on your device
Traveled here to Belfast and absolutely enjoyed everything, plan on returning soon!
Firstly what a great positive video thank you so much it means a lot when someone takes the time to study and inform people about travel . But Don't trust the taxi tour's take on history of the troubles no matter what side . Better off reading history books before coming to Belfast or Northern Ireland.
And yes I'm Belfast born and bred.
Thanks again for the positive video of my city .
Agreed. A Nationalist will have one story, a Unionist will have another entirely. They may be less biased some of them, but there is always bias.
Absolutely love how informative your videos always are. Truly appreciate your content !
Thanks Andy
And if you are a fan of Back To the Future I think you still can see a Delorean at the Ulster Folk and Transport Museum
Oooops Jeff I thought you were WW. silly me I am 68. That's my excuse. lol
Jack and Rise are fictional characters
Your videos are always some of the best!
This is just amazing.....
No one was coming here only 20 odd years ago only the "adventurous traveller".
Now there's well known RUclipsrs making videos on how great our wee country/city is.
we are coming for a first visit in September from the US and so excited to see all these wonderful places. thank you for a great video!
The city centre is a lot smaller than Dublin and easier to get around!
I love woltersworld, so happy you visited where I'm from! Hope you had a good time
Just round the corner from titanic and it's fab hotel is the HMS Caroline last surviving ship from Battle of jutland ww1. Its been fitted out in its original design fun for all the family if its still open!!!
I found HMS Caroline more interesting than the Titanic exhibition. Maybe because it's a real ship.
Visited last year for the first time. Completely fell in love with the country and the people
Irish person here gonna offer some additional tips.s
1) avoid talking politics with people from northern Ireland while your in a safe city its also very quickly changing and lots of people are feeling increasingly isolated so it can be very quick to annoy people.
Thanks B!
How long is the ferry ride? That’s so cool!
@@raftonpounder6696 NO SURRENDER

Also, we, in Ireland, reject the term "Northern Ireland" as it's a manufactured British term.
Remember that, too.
A lot to remember.
Great video. I live about 2 miles from the rope bridge. The North Coast is the jewel in northern ireland.
We're going in April! Can't wait. Hope things remain open in the Covid world!! Cheers from Canada!!

@@bpfromowc Thank you for the tip re boat trip. Will talk to the wife lol. I don't expect lockdowns too...they say the omicron a weaker virus that the delta. So I'm optimistic. Cheers from Canada
@@Nature_with_Peter_Kane When you're in Belfast try the restaurant "Made in Belfast". The food is fantastic and is sourced locally! Unfortunately all but once location closed due the pandemic, but the one in Cathedral Quarter is open and while I've never been to that location, I bet it's still super tastey. Also give Bootleggers a go. The food is good and if you like strong spirits, they have different flavours of "moonshine" and they are really tastey!
@@tasia2174 Oh thank you so much for the recommendation!! I looked it up on Trip Advisor and the pictures of the food look awesome. I'll check out Bootleggers also. NB .. is there a particular part of the city to avoid? Or is it safe all over? Thank you.
I have been around this big world 4 times from Canada to Hong Kong Australia Phillipines Singapore South Africa et al but I didn't have the advice of Wolters World. Great Programme.
I'm originally from Belfast, and was there just last week. Were you guys there at the same time? Would have been great to have met you! Some good points made here, some made me smile....Don't disrespect the murals...and make sure to get a round in..😉👍
Great video. My grandpa's hometown. I actually lived there for a year in the early 1990s. Not then yet a tourist hotspot but great nonetheless.
