Girl..The powers that be, hate that we are creating our own hair care products. The best thing I ever did was buy your book and the ingredients in those pages. My heart is Thriving and I'm seeing length that I have never seen before.
💙💙💙💙💙 It took me a long time to learn that the hair extension I used where drying my natural hair and pulling at my follicle. Loving getting use to wearing out my own hair now, thanks to cutie pies like you and your Hair book! Love it
The Natural hair community really focus on hair types. Your videos are more for people with 4c Low porosity hair or those wanting to grow hair using natural products. I am always All in and listening to your great videos. Keep them coming!!! God Bless!!
I agree with everything except the extension part: yes it is true that when done incorrectly and taken care of poorly you will see the opposite effect but when you do them yourself (instead of heavy handed stylist whose only interest is to get you out the chair as fast as possible) you will see the benefit. The extension acts as a "casing" to you hair allowing it to go longer without manipulation similar to threading (except this is more socially acceptable in the US). The extensions allow you to wash your hair in them and cleanse the scalp so that it remains fresh. When I do braids and twists without it they last for barely a month and I end up putting in for more manipulation to take them out and re-style, When learning to do them yourself you are much more gentle and get to learn and love your hair. The tradeoff to spending hours on hair and not having to re-manipulate it for months is worth it. This routine works for the smaller braids imo. This allows me to retain 1" per month. Black hair and its regimen is like a fingerprint it's all different to us :)
I come from black parents and my hair is mid back length and I never used oils or butters...So that is very interesting....I watch family members use them and some had long hair and some didn't 🤷🏽♀️...I just was taught to take care of my hair by wash,condition,leave-in and sometimes a mousse put it in twists or braids...I do it every week...
🧡🧡... I know I'm late with this video, but school is keeping me pretty busy. TFS. I have to detangle my hair while conditioner is on it, otherwise my hair Mattes to my scalp. Finger detangling alone doesn't work for me but I wish It did.
4:12 creams have oils in them already, so when you use liquid/ cream/oil (LCO method)and the C/O part, you are adding twice as much oil as you think you are putting in your hair.
I’m well aware and I’m very aware of how much oil I’m putting in my hair. For me and my hair, oils have been great at helping to retain moisture. The major issue is improper use of oils. A lot of the people demonizing oils used to put them on their bone dry hair… that’s just silly. It’s like putting oil on dry skin and expecting to be, “MoIsTuRiZeD”. Moisture comes from water and oil in conjunction with hydrating products can create a beautiful equilibrium. Even straight haired RUclipsrs sing the praises of oiling and they have beautiful hair to back it up. To each their own but I’m not hopping on that “oil-free” bandwagon.
@@EfikZara +1 agreed. It took me hair thinning to figure out the oils were drying my hair out even when I did the lco method that's because oils give you a false moisturizing feel to your hair. It makes the hair break from dryness. For my lifestyle the raw oils/raw butters didn't work for me bc I don't want to wash my hair every week to reapply the lco. I use water and creams. I were my hair in braids. And I wear it out sometimes when It's time to rebraided it. Your right 👍. Oils/butters work if you do it right. I have seen long naturals on RUclips who who use LCO. 💕
That why I went to school for hair year ago And my mother told me not let anyone put their hand in my hair And grandmother told me after I comb my hair from my hair when it dry is to wet dead hair then throw the wet hair in garbage
😳In the Caribbean we teach our children not to let anyone except who your family agrees to touch your hair. If anyone does it, assume he/she practises evil and wants to spiritually harm your body or life and to start breaking that spell you do the same activity immediately back to that person.
Honestly Zara ! Can I just move close to you and pay you to care for my hair ? I just am NOT A do it yourself hair person. I am tryinggggggg . My hair hates fake hair ! All of it! I know it has so much potential but my neck and my nape are refusing to push through and come through for me 😞… I’m about to try the henna as I am scarereeedddd as hell …. Idk but glad I have your help for some guidance … but this hair journey is so discouraging ever since I was a teenager it’s been pure hell. Thank you for your help still!
the oils thing makes me sooooooo upset its annoying asf. they'll act like im practically burning my hair. oils are fine they wont kill you and alot of people like the way it makes their hair feel
another thing about using essential oils, they can be harmful when used without proper knowledge (burning your scalp, having allergic reactions) and sometimes they dont do anything but smell good. I personally like them for their anti microbial and fungal effects; oil and essential oil just makes me feel cleaner. ive been using it this way for awhile and my hair feels fine and I like the way it smells. its pretty cheap for me to do and if I try something new I always err on the side of caution and check if im allergic + be careful not to use to much of something and harm yourself severely (including formulated infused products)

I agree. I use cross and my hair is almost but length
Love Butters and Oils! They are really weird on the no oils and butters convo! But to each their own 🤗
Extensions - Braids, work for my coarse hair so I'm good. 😊
We are black so without oils and butters our hair can't survive
That's not true

I don't use them either. My hair maintenance is exactly like yours 😌🙂except I wash every 10-14 days depending on how dirty it got.
It's unnecessary for oils and butters to be used everyday. I use them but....I don't swear by them.

Well for us, oils and butters works in our hair
I won't stop using what works
Amen on the statement of no extensions
And people should wash the extensions before they use them
