- We went to the biggest pilaf (or plov) center in Uzbekistan to see how they cook pilaf there and to eat some of it 😋 Kazans were huge and the whole process looked so cook and authentic. We also went to buy some samsa later so you'll see it too.
Thank you for watching!💛

Exploring local foods when you travel is so much fun. I especially enjoyed watching how the pilaf was prepared. Thanks for sharing this with us.
Toyla should be a salesman - he loves to talk to everyone and does so very naturally.
I admire you & your family for leaving Russia & going to strange countries, especially with you being pregnant. I love going on your trips to markets, learning & seeing so much from you. These are all things I would never get to see if I hadn't found you on RUclips. Thank you so much for taking me with you & your family on your adventures. (I live in USA close to Chicago). Please all of you stay safe & healthy & God bless.
This video was fantastic. I loved seeing the cooking methods the smoke from the fires, and hearing all your explanations. Thanks for giving us a view of your journey ❤
I wanted to tell you that since you showed Syrniki in one of your older videos, I have been making them almost every week because I found Tworog in my German supermarket. Me and my boyfriend both love them a lot.
Interesting video, Uzbek food looks delicious.
And the plates are so beautiful. Be safe and well my friends, prayers for peace.
I can taste it just looking at it! My Russian mother often made pilaf for dinner when I was a child. Total sense memory.
@Lou Sassoul it isn't particularly greasy. What you see in the video is what is left over after they've finished serving... It's not like that oil is consumed. I'd say, at most, it's slightly oilier than fried rice - but that oil mostly comes from the fat from the lamb. The vegetables take on a caramelised quality (the onion and carrots in particular) and are delicious.
I am loving your adventures! We love you, our kind Russian family. And I have really noticed lately how much Agatha looks so much like her daddy! Wow!
Each video I see of your sweet family makes me love you to my heart more.
For some reason, watching this one made me cry, just very happy to know you are safe, and wishing I could see you in person to show you how much joy I hope for you all.
I haven't had breakfast yet, and now I'm starving. We eat rice every day so I'm going to try to find an Uzbek recipe. We love naan. Thank you for sharing. Hope the pregnancy nausea goes away soon. Blessings! (I actually waved back at Tolya and Agatha like we were on zoom 😊)
I did that too haha 😄 x
Such a heart warming family 👪 💓
Very interesting. Thank you Victoria, Tolya and Agata
Hello Vika, Tolya, Agatha, and Baby to be! Wow, that was amazing to see how the plov was cooked and served. I had no idea how it was made and it is a lot of work to make, especially a ton at a time. The ground mutton in the puff pastry looked delicious too. You look so pretty in the pink jacket! I hope you know how much we appreciate your videos and commentary of your life and travels. Your videos are done so well and I always feel as though I am right beside you traveling along with Tolya and Agatha. Sending you and your sweet family big hugs and much love!
Thank you Victoria for sharing your different foods with us....
very interesting 👌 👍🏻
greetings from South Africa 🇿🇦
I am loving seeing you adventures with your family. The market tour was so interesting. The way the vendors stack all the food is so artistic. Loved seeing how the pilaf was made in this video. Very interesting that most people eat that daily for lunch. The pastry for the meat pastry looked like croissant dough. I’ve never had mutton before. Thanks for sharing your videos with us. Hope y’all are doing well.
Have you really never eaten mutton? I guess it isn't common in the US.
Agatha is adorable little girl 👧. Pilav is one of my favorite meals, yet Serbia is so distant from Uzbekistan 🇺🇿 . Also, samsa is quite famous street food in 🇮🇳, baked in tandoori fireplaces! So, food connecting people, yay!!! ✌❤ Thank you for sharing your life story with us, stay safe, stay health! Greetings from Serbia 🇷🇸❤
we also ate plov a few times in Uzbekistan.
And indeed after a few hours our intestines also ploved
Tolya seems to be always smiling, I love his positivity! The plov looked delicious too. Sending your lovely family best wishes from Perth in Australia. I love your videos :)
thank you for share this wonderful country..see u,,greetings from germany..Gitta
I loved this! Seeing how you and Tolya are embracing and exploring your new surroundings, and sharing it with your viewers. The markets are so interesting. I always look forward to see what you and your lovely little family are doing!
Great tour! I could almost smell the aromas of the baking. Like your travel logs…
So interesting!! In the tropics we have paella which is made in a big open container over a wood fire. It has varieties of fish and shellfish and vegetables and rice. Of course it can be made at home as well but paella on the beach is amazing!! The other dish reminds me of many similar ethnic dishes with stuffed dumplings buns or crusts. Interesting how so many cultures can resemble one another through food 💗🌏🥟
I'm hungry after watching that, I would love to eat a Samsa. Agatha is adorable as usual and I believe she's a daddy's girl. Tolya is always smiling and I love to see that.
This is the second video showing these two dishes! Must really be yummy! 😘 From different you tubers.
I love Tolya in the background just smiling. It’s so amazing to see how you’re all making the best of a not great situation
Dear Vika! Thank you for sharing this wonderful video to give us a great view of Tashkent and the food in Uzbekistan as well as these traditions. Loved seeing Tolya's happy reaction to the plov, but so sorry that it may have been too oily for you to have at the moment. So nice to see little Agata as well! Love to you all--so great to see you enjoying this experience.
Tolya was upset about the sweet tea
Tolya: 😊😊😊
Tolya is the happiest guy I've ever seen!
That really looks like his face too 😄
@@CarrieJamrogowicz yes 🙈😆
I really enjoyed seeing this type of food cooked in giant pans. Thanks for showing us around.
Plov and Samsa look great! We enjoy pom juice from the supermarket.
Thank you for sharing this awesome video in Uzbekistan. The food looks very tasty and also the atmosphere of this country is very warm and friendly. I am very happy that you are fine.
I love seeing these cultural tidbits! Thank you for sharing along with us as you explore. I really love those little tea bowls.
I'm pretty sure I will never go to Uzbekistan so I appreciate your showing us these traditional foods. Thank you. Safe travels wherever you are!
watching from the Phil....Tolya is such a supportive husband and a loving father. love ur videos
I've eaten biryani, but I never made pilaf yet. I've heard of Moroccan tagine and Spanish paella, and I'd like to cook them, too. All these dishes seem about the same, and I'm sure they're all excellent! I love rice, especially basmati, or the "sticky" rice served with Chinese dishes.
When Tolya smiles, I can't help smiling back! Your videos bring sunshine into my day. I said a silent prayer that all of you will stay safe, well and happy. ❤
I love your videos Vika! Thank you for sharing this little insight into lunch in Uzbekistan. The samsa look similar to Indian samosas (the words sound similar too) they can have different fillings, but lamb is a common one. They're triangular parcels of pastry, filled and deep fried. Wishing you all well. X
Great video. Pilaf is similar to a dish we have which is called Kabsa and it is a very popular dish here in Saudi Arabia. We make Kabsa with rice and meat/chicken and we have different types of Kabsa. I would say that most people have Kabsa for lunch, but there’re some who like to have it for dinner. Also, Sama is so similar to a must-have snack that we make during the month of Ramadan but we call it Sambosa (yes with the b!) :)
Sambosa oh wow, all the different variations. Ramadan mubarak 💕
That Samsa looked wonderful!
It's quite amazing that all the way from Central Asia to southern India we have the same elements in our cuisine. Pulao. pilaf are the different we spell this. Of course we have vegetarian variations of both the Pilaf and the samosa as we call the samsa.
I loved this video - the food looked delicious 😋 Also the Tandoors reminded me of Cornish Pasties which we have in England. These are similar pastry filled with meat & potatoes & vegetables and were originally what the tin miners took for their lunch many years ago!
Wow. This is amazing
Beautiful Family thank you for taking us with you 🎀
Fun video. Thanks for sharing. Agatha steals the show easily. Such a sweetie.
I really enjoy your recent videos! It feels a bit like I'm traveling and discovering new things.
Thanks Vika! 🥰😍
Thank you Viki! I was amazed to see how this food is made. So much of it made in one day! Is it beef? So many people to feed! I would never know this had you not shown us! I’m happy to see you’re able to eat meat and vegetables again. I am going to find out the population of Uzbekistan! There’s Agatha waking up! Hello! Agatha was hungry! So interesting!
Loved this video and learning about traditional foods.
LOVE your videos! I’m not able to travel so your video posts are so interesting and informative. Thank you so much! 🇨🇦 Canadian fan
Nice Video. Samsa is a derivative of Samosa, which is Indian triangle shaped stuffed pastry. Influence is more from South Asia and Indus Valley than from North..
Is the pov like bhirahni, too? Looks very similar. So interesting to see the food connection to se asia
Hello from Baber
It is actually influence from Central Asia when Zahiriddin Babur conquered north of India
It looks like it would smell amazing in here, the savory rice, the meat and spices! And the pomegranate juice to cut through the oil and richness of the meat! It is making me hungry!
your videos are so calming and adorable!! can’t wait for the next one!! ❤️
Yes, she has a great personality which is hard to see these days in the younger generations and she is also simple and happy person so is her husband. 🌹❤️
Good to know. I’m glad you are keeping up with the video. I’m glad u r safe out of ur old place. Stay safe look after ur selves & the babies . Love fm Ca
I love learning abouta all the different places.
You two were so cute filming this video, thanks for educating us on some uzbec food!
Nice video! Very interesting! I can’t wait to discover Georgia with you guys!
Tolya is always smiling. Lovely video as always ☺️
It is wonderful to see how silly you can be with each other and I love that some of Agathe's earliest food memories might be from Uzbekistan.
Thank you so much for sharing the cooking process with us (as well as the delicious result). I now wonder what such a national food center would look like in other countries. This weekend I am taking a training session with World Central Kitchen and I now know that a pan, such as the one used to make that pilaf, would make about 800 servings, so I pleased to see I had guessed close to the 1000 portions they get from their similar pan. I now see similarities between the methods for making pilaf and biryani and jollof rice where cooking over fire gives the rice a smokey taste (and pilaf and biryani are both layered). So interesting!
These videos make me want to travel to Uzbekistan!
Thats So amazing..have never seen anything like that!
Good to see you all looking well God Bless
That was so interesting to see. Rice pilaf is very popular in America also in many many restaurants and everyone can also buy it boxed in the supermarket to make at home too. We usually eat it with chicken and vegetables or just vegetables. Thank You so much for your authentic videos and bringing us along on your remarkable journey. 🥰
Thank you for this video. Best wishes to you and your family. Take care of you. Greetings from Hungary.
I hope you are feeling alright. I hope you are getting enough rest, and that you are getting enough to eat. Take care of yourself.❤️❤️
Agatha looks so much like her daddy!
Wow, I'm learning about Uzbek culture. Thanks for sharing this!
Great video! I love your family you all have such a good energy and I wish you all the best. Kisses from Brazil 🧡
Thanks and blessings. Enjoying the foods through you.
I enjoyed this "food" video and I love watching your sweet family.
Oh my!!! That looks so good!!! Thank you for showing this!!! Great video!!!
i love how we have similar foods all over asia. in Bangladesh we have very similar food called polao and samocha. essentially the same thing. tho polao is the rice portion and when mixed together with meat the name varies depending on the kind of meat it is mixed with.
This was very interesting. I like rice, so I'd eat that dish. However, not during lunch. Too heavy. How they cook it is fascinating. Thanks for sharing!
Might be their main meal and have lighter breakfast and dinners
I love your videos that give me a window to the rest of the world.
If you're at work, and you're hungry and it's several hours before you can get something to eat, do not watch this! It will make you even more hungry! This looks so damn good....
There was so much food I thought at first you were at a festival. Thank you for showing the meals of Uzbekistan people. It’s so interesting to see other cultures! ❤️
Hope the nausea passes soon!
So good to see the three of you.
Thank you.
Excellent video, I enjoyed watching it and the food looks so good.
I love seeing food for different cultures, thank you for sharing x
The food looks so delicious, makes me want to go there! Would love to see more videos like this! I enjoy seeing your sweet family.
ooooo the scents of all that good stuff cooking on an open fire must be amazing; wonderful experience thank you for sharing this special cooking food.
Thank you for this video. Best wishes to you and your family.
I grew up with Tamil cuisine and to me, it looks like biryani which is often eaten with eggs too. Thanks for sharing. :D I like her grumpy face. 9:50 xD
ThT was so interesting to see how they make it and it looks so good…..the meat roll looked good too
Ah, ПЛОВ /plof/... 😋 You know, in the US, some of us figured out a way to cook it in the Instant Pot 😎
Please share the recipe! Would love to try it!
croissant type of dough made with a lot of butter for the last one wonder how it is a French dough looked amazing; Agatha so cute "bye-bye"
Absolutely loved this 🌟 thank you all for taking us with you ✨💫
Enjoyed the video eating traditional foods and how the meal is prepared, thanks for sharing your afternoon...
This is making me hungry! Thanks for sharing, greetings from Maryland USA ❤️
y'all are the most ADORABLE family 👪. too cute!!❤🧡💛💚💙💜
Loved this video! Your content is always awesome! ☺️
I recently found an Uzbek restaurant near where I live. I went and got some lamb, and it was ok, but now I want to go back and try their plov!
Your videos are so captivating. I feel like I am right with you - almost smell the delicious food. Please keep posting these informative movies. I want to know more about these exotic countries.
Those cooking pots were massive. Could you imagine doing that job. It must be so hot and heavy. Looks delicious. I cant believe what good prices they have. Thanks!
Love your videos!! Excited to see you posted a new one. Glad to know you are safe. Hope you’re feeling well with the pregnancy and things are getting more settled for you there, with less uncertainty.
I just love any video yall do they make me happy
This was fascinating to watch.
Amazing! Never seen such a huge amount of food being cooked at once.
You can see it also in Pakistan and India cooking huge amount of food at once.
As always, your video was so interesting. I love learning about different cultures. It was especially interesting how they make the food dishes in such huge wok-type cooling vessels. I was thinking that it probably helps to keep the price down because they are able to cook such a large amount at one time. I'd love to try this dish but, would prefer it to not have the raisins (like the plate your husband ate). Prayers that your morning sickness goes away soon & that you are feeling better. 🥰
So it reminds me of Indian cuisine where you would get pilau rice or biryani. And samsa would be samosa. I love how all the Asian countries share the different variations upon these delicious foods!
This looks amazing! Now I want to cook Plov and Samsa!
Looks delicious! It is amazing to see this process still going on probably from generations!
Hello!!! Thank you for sharing!🌷
That Samsa looked a lot like a better version of an American Hot Pocket. Uzbeck food was never on my radar, but seeing all of the tasty food here, I'm starting to look up new recipes. Thank you for taking us along on your journey! I'd never be able to travel there and learning so much about another culture's food is so fascinating (and potentially delicious)!
