Kevin is a gifted communicator. There are plenty of Filmora instructional videos on RUclips and this one is hands down the best I have seen. Well structured, good production values, clear, concise and very well paced. His genuine enthusiasm for the software and talent for good communication shine through.
This is the best Premier Pro alternative I've tried... loving it so far. Everyone praising Davinci, but Davinci Resolve is the most overhyped crap software I've ever tried.
I'm a commercial videographer/editor for 34 years. Yes. Davinci is overhyped.... I've been using Filmora for nearly 4 years. I love the GUI and the workflow. Filmora has come a long way and continues to be a leader in the industry. I do not consider Filmora to be just for beginners. It has become a professional video editing program that continues to develop into a real contender in the media post production market. One of the unique powerful features Filmora offers is the audio stretch function. It works very well. Currently, Filmora offers the most effects and features that are included with the program. look forward to Filmora 14 and hopefully, it will include an effect like the Corner Pin 3-D manipulation effects and a multi cam editing feature as well as 3D text tracking. Currently, I use the two track split and move a cut up one track method to edit multiple cameras an that works well however, Filmora needs a better method for editing multiple cameras. I think they will develop a multicamera feature. I appreciate the Filmora developers and the entire team for everything they have created and developed so far. Also, the built-in screen recorder is second to none in Filmora. Love this feature! Filmora offers an export option to DVD. Davinci does not. Even though DVDs are fading as a whole technology wise, I still have a few customers who want a DVD of a given project from time to time. I downloaded Davinci Resolve 19 and played with it for about an hour then got frustrated and uninstalled it and went back to Filmora! The "Nodes" feature in DaVinci are ridiculous! Does not make any sense whatsoever. The overall workflow in Davinci is significantly slower. FILMORA ROCKS!

I've just watched four other Filmora tutorials (I'm a Capcut refugee beginning last night!) and yours here is longer by twice, but you included tips beyond the basics. I especially liked the editing section with your various ways to edit. CapCut has some very quick editing shortcuts, you gave me enough info to chase down how to use the default keystrokes, plus take a look at the section to create my own. Thank you for taking time to produce this helpful tutorial!
I’m in the same boat as you and I totally agree about this tutorial. This is exactly the kind of info I needed to determine if this was a good alternative.
WOW! Thank you Kevin! I just got around to working through your tutorial and it was really good. This is going to really help me cut down on production time. Thank you for providing the tutorial files so that I could work along with you. Just purchased the software!
Thank you so much for this! This was exactly what i needed as a newbie to content creating with the best ai recommended app. This video has all the step by step! I enjoyed the way you teach. You just earned a new subscriber!❤
@Kevin. You make so many videos and it is hard to think after viewing them. In our case, we are old and want to try to learn making short videos. We have iphone 15 pro max phones. And top speed PCs. We have interests in learning to make our videos for fun but do not want to devote hundreds of hours how to do that. We still have trouble with OBS after their updates. Which video editor would be best for us? We are thinking CapCut. Please respond!
I'll try and help out a bit. I'd say if you have high end components for pc's, capcut is not for you. Filmora has amazing features, and you can buy whatever filmora version is currently available forever. I will say that you will only buy that version. Say you buy filmora 13 and 14 comes out- you will only have 13 and you'll have to buy 14 if you want the features it offers. Why I say not to go with capcut- they are very greedy and have been making some of the free features that were very useful, and its not a one time purchase (of my knowledge), and they are probably subject to increasing the price monthly or yearly. The trouble with OBS is a pretty easy fix, I would just try and look up the problem- someone has probably already asked on reddit or quora and someone has probably helped them.
Thanks Kevin. This was very helpful. My Filmora (paid version) works well... apart from the fact that it sometimes go hanging, and to get it going again, I have to restart my pc. I've found others on the net complaining about this, but no explanation or solution.

Now Filmora Boasts this, time will tell if I grasp what`s going on. I will be following the tutorial for my first Fully EDITED you tube video, hoping it goes well on the basic plan, Lead the way. Hi Kevin, I quick question if I can. I sometimes need to put items I've used snipping tool on in to an excel document. I've copies and pasted the snipping in and then I print to pdf. The question is, sometimes on the pdf the snipping are present and other times it disappears. What causes that please?
Great tutorial. Quick question: how can I highlight the mouse cursor with that half-transparent yellow circle you're using in your video? Can't find such option myself. . .
Thank you, Kevin, for this wonderful tutorial. Where is the downloaded Online Content like audios, titles, transitions, effects stored? I'm looking for the actual Windows folder location containing the files. It seems every time I use an asset, it needs to be downloaded, and these files are piling up somewhere on my hard drive. I'd like to be able to delete some that I don't use frequently to save space, and also back up the downloaded content. Thank you!
This is what i was wondering too, if you dont give any alternatives then its just an ad for the app. Great tutorial though even if it is just an ad, so thank you for that Kevin.
It really depends on your individual needs and preferences. Here are some top options to consider: - Filmora: A user-friendly video editing software that's great for beginners and intermediate users. It offers a variety of effects, transitions, and templates, making it easy to create professional-looking videos. - DaVinci Resolve Studio: Known for its advanced color correction and grading capabilities, this software also offers professional editing, audio post-production, and visual effects. This is what I personally use. - Adobe Premiere Pro: A professional-grade software used by industry professionals, offering extensive features, seamless integration with Adobe Creative Cloud, and robust performance. - Final Cut Pro X: Ideal for Mac users, this software is known for its intuitive interface, powerful editing tools, and efficient performance. - Avid Media Composer: A favorite among film and TV editors, it provides sophisticated editing tools, media management, and collaboration features. - Sony Vegas Pro: Offers a wide range of editing features, including 4K support, advanced audio editing, and numerous effects. - CapCut: A versatile video editing app that’s popular for its simplicity and ease of use, especially for social media content. It offers a range of editing tools, effects, and music options, making it a great choice for quick and creative video projects.
