I want such a laser cutter too. lol I just ordered 2 of these lamps, one with Sailor Moon, and one with Asuka from Neon Genesis Evangelion, and I was thinking I could make my own Designs with Acrylic plates once I have the lamps and see the dimensions of the plates... but I guess I would have to do it by hand with a Dremel or something. haha. probably very hard to do some designs and do it with a steady hand.
I was thinking it could also be done by just etching the surface with a metal scribe. It really doesn't have to be deep for the light to refract. Give it a go and let me know :)
@@CaptainsDrydock maybe I'll just make a design and ask you to manufacture it, depending on what you charge for making and shipping to Austria. I am mostly interested in Anime characters, not Star Trek anyway, so no CBS problems. I also ordered the Mini Communicator and Tricorder, they probably ship from China and will take a while to arrive. Pretty cheap though, around 10 Euros. They only have 2 sound effects unfortunately. I was thinking I might try to replace the electronics inside with an Arduino board and more sounds and effects. I hope that can fit and it would be my 1st Arduino project. Never done anything electronic except solder a broken mouse cable and a mod chip into a Playstation.

Good to wire up an LED but no idea with anything more than that. I used one of the skill hire websites to have someone work out all the code and supply me with the wiring schematic. I do take commissions, sadly I'm unable to take on any Star Trek related work due to a CBS cease & desist. But thank you for your support and happy to laser anything else you might have in mind.
@@CaptainsDrydock UGH!! The blasted cease and desist. CBS knows Trek fans can make things just as better than they can and wouldn't get any royalties from it haha! It would of been perfect to have the TNG logo as well as the name of the ship in clear to have it lit across the base. Bummer! Thanks again and appreciate your perseverance for accuracy.

Do you do commission work? I'm looking for a clear TNG logo that I'd like to put into and light up in the base for my Enterprise D model I'm building.
